Adding oil to the filter before installing helps cut down on the time it takes for the oil to fully circulate in the engine. I always fill it once and the oil absorbs into the filter material so nothing spills out. It probably doesn't make much of a difference but I do it for peace of mind. Nice bike btw
Ya that definitely makes sense just that little bit in the mesh of the filter probably does help. If the filter was vertical then I would fill it. Thank you. Guessing you have a MT10 as well ?
@@66Moto Yeah just picked up a new one last weekend, same matte black finish! Love it so far, can't wait to get through the break in so I can see what it's really got. Ride safe bro!
Tip: Cut a big hole in the side of any old jug. It's free and you can just pour it nice and clean by removing the cap into whatever waste receptacle you need.
Thank you for the vid. Curious. Any issues with quick shifting with the Motul oil. I’ve heard that the MT-10 only likes the Yamalube. Looking forward to hearing back
No problem at all. Happy to make the videos. No didn’t find any issues with running Motul over Yamalube. I actually find the Motul to be better. It makes my clutch feel smoother.
Ya not sure why I said this 4 litters and 2 litters of another jug. lol Just before I put the proper litter amount on the screen of 4.1 litters with an oil filter change.
So I would not run none synth in it as the manual say to run synthetic. I don’t think it would be catastrophic to your engine but definitely get it out as soon as possible and get the recommended oil in. Don’t take it back to that shop, the should be professional and that’s a BS mistake.

@taylor7838 Right on. O man will definitely love it once it’s broken in. Congrats. Thanks ride safe as well.
That filling has really no use. The oil leaves thin film on the surface so in matter of seconds it's sufficient for lubrication.
Thanks
You were very helpful I appreciate it

Can you use non synthetic oil? I took mine to a dealer and they put in non synthetic and said the first oil change shouldn’t be full synthetic

@@66Moto yeah that’s what I’m thinking thanks!!
I run full synth in my 23 since the first change.
