The Plaintiff is upset about not working ENOUGH(it's usually the opposite) and that his father was apparently holding the fact that he was the Plaintiff's landlord(and probably giving him a break on rent) over his head. OK, so we don't know what specifically happened, but what we do know so far I think exemplifies why America is going to hell in a handbasket. Here we have a young man who, whatever his shortcomings may be, is clearly doing what he can to uphold his end of the social contract. He's got a job, wants to work more, and is even paying rent TO HIS DAD! A man who, apparently, owns the apartment and building his son is renting in. Like, seriously, old man, how do you expect your son to make it in the world when you've got your life put together enough to own a building, but you expect your kid to get a couple more fast food jobs so he can pay you rent, instead of getting him set up for success? He has set him up for success. What are you talking about? His rent is TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS? There isn’t another place in the country that has rent that low. This kid is lazy and unmotivated, that’s why his current job is in fast food. With rent that low there is absolutely no excuse for him to not be furthering his education and doing something with his life. His dad probably sees this and is fed up.
I would have loved to have a 200 dollar rent when I was in college. I definitely wouldn’t have let it go to waste. I was paying over 1000 dollars in rent alone and paying for tuition.

He wanted to put in his 2 weeks notice from his job without having found another one knowing that he had to pay his father rent. The dad was already giving him a break by charging him 200 a month. Father says get 2 or 3 jobs if your main job is cutting your hours, which is excellent advice. Kid gets mad bc he feels the dad is holding the apartment over his head, when really it seems like he's trying to teach his son to be responsible. Soon gets mad and they get into an argument. Dad says this disrespectful ass kid needs to get up out my house so he pulled up and kicked him out. As he should. Son went on to destroy property and spit in his father's face which says alot. The father knows the son better than we all do, but the son truly has you all fooled. Greasy beard or not, dad is right. You don't want to work, you ain't staying here for free. Bringing this man to court over atv and some controllers bc u wanna play video games all day and not work. 😂

I find it so odd how many people are sympathetic with the son. If the father coddles him at this age, then he'll be doing the exact same thing 20 years down the line. It's only $200 rent. I believe he was ranting to his dad about it because he wanted to emotionally manipulate his dad, not because having less hours at work bothered him. Who quits a job because they want more hours when they haven't got another job lined up? So it's better to have no job???? What is the logic? I also would've advised him to get another job and i'd sound just as unsympathetic because it sounds more like a sorry excuse. He just didn't like his job and wanted to see if his dad could let him slide on the rent until he can be bothered to get another one. So far, i see nothing wrong with the fathers disinterest in his whining. I also think he's stumbling over his words because he's realising how stupid his story must sound. He's probably recited this sob story to many other ingrates who sided with him, just that it's the first time he's really hearing himself and he's realising how absolutely ridiculous it sounds.

I understood what he meant when he said his dad would hold the apartment over his head.
I moved in with my mom after college and she let me stay rent free until I could save to move out. When she’d get mad at me she would say if it wasn’t for her I’d be homeless. I said ok tell me how much is the rent and I’ll lay half and she would tell me it was none of my business how much her rent was and she was doing me a favor.
Yea I worked as much overtime I could at work and I moved out as soon as possible
