Mike Myers career began to decline in quality when he did The Cat in the Hat (2003), this was simply a mistake to make a quick buck, though it was The Love Guru (2008) is what killed his career
@@nickmcfarland9210 How do you not like Mike's movies? Austin Powers (in my opinion) was the best spoof ever! And Wayne's World and Wayne's World 2 were funny and classic. The Love Guru was actually a pretty good movie!
Jake Lloyd was a terrible actor even by kid standards. There were so many better kids for the role. That being said, the hate that he got was unjustified.
"He was a kid" is not an excuse. There is hundreds of movies with kids as the lead roles that became hits because of the kids. Just look at the Home Alone series, at least the 2 first movies. They are classics and many, even my family, is still watching them when Christmas comes. This was just bad acting and bad script.
Uhm Hayden Christensen acting and portraying of Anakin and his change to Darth Vader was actually very good. Truth romance scenes were kinda badly executed, because tons of AnakinXPadme interaction were cut out in the final edits. His acting skills were good, but dialogue he got . . . got to work with it. Ok AnniexoHoshi, fair point. He had a career. And I suppose that the fact that he had a second role in a big movie like HP gave him an edge to get a lead role in the twilight saga. I meant that the saga gave him a lead role and a name that everybody knows (including people who didn't watch Twilight). The kind of name that gives you big salaries just because "you're the guy from twilight". Therefore there's no reason to put him in THIS video... same for Steward and Lautner. I will say something very controversial. I think Hayden Christensen should have done "Phantom Menace" as well. Why? Because I don't buy a little kid as the future Dark Lord of the Sith. However, if the same actor had played him in all three films, then it would have more synergy, and it would be more believable. The seeds to his fall could have been planted sooner as well (notice in "TPM" there is no indication that Anakin would turn bad). Also, it would make it less awkward that Padme knew Anakin as a little boy, then had a relationship with him, making him much younger than her.

Sean Connery was 73 yrs old in "League.." He had already made 70 films and won a BAFTA, Golden Globe and an Oscar. It didn't "end" his career. He's retired and he can do what he wishes. He's not obliged to make public appearances. Costner has appeared in , directed and produced successful films and tv series since Waterworld. Kevin Costner played Superman's Dad in Man of Steel... Although, If he was also Batman's dad, I could see why that would create turmoil between the two lol
"Hayden Christensen quit acting all together after Star Wars!" Except he's had 14 acting roles since then including a movie being released this month... nice try though 😂
Nothing of particular note though. Jumper was far from noteworthy and anything else isn't worth a mention. Certainly didn't quit acting but never risen to the heights of his costars such as Natalie Portman.
Halle Berry made a bad choice in Catwoman. The plot strayed fr from the comics and prior movies. She portrayed an almost Jekyl and Hyde as a sweet secretary and sassy sexy psychotic superhero. I mourned her fall. I was so happy to see her on screen again when she did Kidnapped. As far as I am concerned, that movie redeemed her. She is a great action hero actress
Ehhh... Kevin costner and Alicia Silverstone both had kinda developed a reputation before their career died as being difficult to deal with. They had each kinda decided to zealously champion their own pet projects without regards to the studios they worked for. They're demands may not have directly impacted the movies themselves, but putting up with demands can strain a movie studio's tolerance if the resulting product doesn't perform well. Although those movies certainly did help kill the celebrities careers, i think they could have continued making movies if they weren't known for being difficult to deal with. The debate as to whether or not those reputations are deserved is like a whole new video topic.
Costner's career might have derailed after Waterworld, but nothing spells career revival like winning an Emmy for "Hatefield's & McCoys" like he did. He works more nowadays than he has over the previous decade. I would say that he is back.

you should make a video about roles that have disastrous concequences, I mean two of the actors that played Superman ended severely injured and two of the actors that played Darth Vader ended up loosing their careers
I think its been done. I know the original actor cast as the tin man in the Wizard of Oz ended up hospitalized because he had breathing problems from all of the silver " paint" that was all over him. Apparently it affected his health so much that he was unable to return to filming... & that happened just during rehearsal. Who would think it'd be dangerous playing a tin man, huh?
The original tin man was actually an actor named Buddy Epson(or Ebson) & what sent him to the hospital was aluminium poisoning, over exposure to the chemical.
I was fine with anakin’s character in the 1st and 3rd movies, but he was power hungry, angry, greedy, and corrupt in the 2nd- I couldn’t stand him. If anything I’m suprised the 2nd movie didn’t kill Hayden’s career
I love the way he played Anakin you were supposed to watch him be this sweet innocent child to being confused in the second one to his transformation into Darth Vader if you watch that you see he actually portrayed Anakin very well
Matt, I think you and I have a different understanding of what "ending a career" means. Many of the people you mentioned have moved to other genres , and some even nominated for awards AFTER the roles you talked about.
The comment about Hayden Christensen giving up the craft of acting is untrue. If you just look up Hayden Christensen movies you will see he has been in many other movies after the 2 Star Wars movies. Unless I misunderstood what was said/meant?

II and ep III. i really couldn't understand why he was SO SO angry already in ROTS. besides star wars usually hires very green actors to star as a main character
Why people hate on the first 3 Star Wars movies? I loved it... Thanks to these movies I was introduced to Star Wars as a kid :) my brother and I watched the first episode on VHS nearly every day
Personally, i'd blame the Scriptwriters & the Directors for many of the career killings, especially for No. 1. They demanded too much from the child actor.
I actually really liked Catwoman when I was a kid and watched it many times...I am afraid to watch it now, because I heard that it is really a bad movie. But Halle Berry is still amazing!
I watched it many times when I was a child/teenager and I remember that I enjoyed it very much. I am afraid that if I would watch it now, I would notice all the bad things in it and it would ruin my memories of ti XD Well, even with all that it might worth watching Catwoman again. I did remember years later reading that Halle Berry had a rough time shooting and promoting the movie and she did not enjoy it at all and when she watched the final cut of the movie she was disappointed. That is why she went and picked up her "award" in person. Just shows how awesome she is :)I think she got the Oscar and the Razzy in the same year. I remember that I did not like the Daredevil movie but I did enjoy the Elektra movie and the very first Fantastic Four movie too!
I'm sorry matt but I had to dislike because you included Hayden Christensen. It's not fair that people still bash him or even talk about him 15 years later. He was great in Revenge of The Sith and even if he wasn't it wouldn't have been his fault. Jar Jar was a one time thing but if Hayden couldn't portray Anakin Skywalker then no one could
Hey Matt! Love your work to death!!! You're great! However, a suggestion if I may? :) Is it possible please to set the background music to a lower volume? I usually listen to your videos with headphones on and most times the background music seems to be as loud as your voice, which understandably, distracts from the topic :) Keep up the amazing work dude!
Exactly. It's like they think it's a badge of honour. There might be channels that offer prizes to "first" commenters sometimes, but other than that it's just sad.
I want to see a Matthew Santoro movie about his amazing life. Also you should include Al Pacino in Jack and Jill because that was an abomination of a movie and I doubt he will get work after that

Why people hate on the first 3 Star Wars movies? I loved it... Thanks to these movies I was introduced to Star Wars as a kid :) my brother and I watched the first episode on VHS nearly every day
If you're referring to the prequels, most Star Wars fans (myself included) prefer the original two. However, there is too much hate for the prequels.
That's what I meant ;) prequels ...also the new movies get a lots of negative feedback...I don't know I enjoy all of them 🙃
What do you mean by original 2? Because most fans love Return of the Jedi if that is what you are implying
they may be flawed but they're far superior films to the Disney Starwars films
@@user-zk6vn2xg4r Can't argue with that, the prequels are better than Disney Wars. Having said that the original 3 were better.
YOU TAKE THAT BACK ABOUT WATERWORLD!
I literally broke down in tears from laughing when he said the Austin powers evil joke...I know...I'm lame
I love the Star Wars prequels so honestly I don't see why people hate on them so much
Personally, i'd blame the Scriptwriters & the Directors for many of the career killings, especially for No. 1. They demanded too much from the child actor.
Kevin Costner costared as Batman’s Dad in Man of Steel? Oh Matt lol. Is he similar to The Dark Knight Superman?
Yes.
Man waterworld was dope!😡 lol
Joseph StalinJG, right! I guess you and I are the only ones that enjoyed it. To be honest I thought the postman killed his career
You bless me with the knowledge everyday' thankyou hunny
Is anyone else actually feeling bad for that last kid?? He was so young and people actually bullied him into quitting his career...
I loved League of Extraordinary Gentlemen! How was it a flop?!
Lycan4 same... I watch it whenever it's on TV
Eyes open boy i cant always be there to save you
Same here, it is a good movie
Some people are easily entertained I suppose.
Thank you! I was just as shocked that it was on this list!
I see quite a few DC movies on here, might be a sign to future actors.
Pretty sure playing Toad in X-Men made a bad mark on Ray Park's career.
Jar Jar was a one time thing but if Hayden couldn't portray Anakin Skywalker then no one could
Jack Rox Ikr
You might be right, because people said that Natalie Portman couldn't act after seeing her in this as well, but she has since won an Oscar.
It's pronounced QUATERmain - as in 25%, you know, a Quarter!
Sean Connery has late stage Alzheimer's , he has been suffering for years, that is why he retired many years ago when his symptoms became evident
but he did acted on the transformers movie dark of the moon 2011.
Hey Matt! Love your work to death!!! You're great!
However, a suggestion if I may? :)
Is it possible please to set the background music to a lower volume? I usually listen to your videos with headphones on and most times the background music seems to be as loud as your voice, which understandably, distracts from the topic :)
Keep up the amazing work dude!
Hello.
Edit: Why are so many people obsessed with being first on a video?
it's an epidemic, shame they haven't made a cure yet.
Robert Evans It’s honestly sorta sad.
Exactly. It's like they think it's a badge of honour. There might be channels that offer prizes to "first" commenters sometimes, but other than that it's just sad.
stubones Precisely.
The real answer to this question is...*reasons unknown*
The League of Extraordinary Men is a awesome movie, super underrated. So sad.
I've always like Hayden Christensen. Sure he wasnt like the best actor in the world but I think he still did a good job as anakin 🤷🏻♂️ just me tho
That is interesting, I was always under the impression that Sean Connery knew that LXG was going to be his last movie.
How many mistakes are you going to make?!
I almost died when you did the Dr. Evil impression.
If I remember correctly, the role of President ended up ruining a few guys' careers.
Mike Meyers cameo in Inglorious Basterds was so good. His acting was on point.
Lol waterworld was one of my dads favorites
NightCoreReptiles kinda surprised that was on the list to be honest.
Same
I love your goofy humour - thanks for making me smile❤🙂
I want to see a Matthew Santoro movie about his amazing life. Also you should include Al Pacino in Jack and Jill because that was an abomination of a movie and I doubt he will get work after that
King Barrett He did a video about his life, not a movie though
xo twod I know but I would love to see a movie about Matt or Matthew Santoro starring in a movie.
This was pretty interesting! It'd be cool if you did a part 2.
This is a good video like all the others
indeed
Like always :)
"I got a Twinkie in the car. It's all yours if you want it."
I liked 'Excess Baggage' as a comedy and American version of 'A Life Less Ordinary'.
Matt would make the best Lex luther!
preston Dabbs I could actually see him fitting the role well if he looked more like the character.
Why is it that I really enjoyed ALL of these movies.

I knew what he meant by “twig and Berries” and yes I am 19 so don’t go there thinking I’m younger
See. 11 year old my was watching Austin Powers. And I even knew what twig and berries meant!
Hayden Christensen played the rule of Anakin Skywalker very well. His acting was on point. The prequels were better than episodes 4, 5 and 6.
It's Quartermane. The League was a great movie!
Yeah, they have quarters in Canada as well as the USA, right?
I can't believe you kept a straight face when you said Elizabeth Berkley was an up and coming actress. WOW. now that was good acting.
Matt
I love your videos so much! I’ve watched so many! I’d honestly love to meet you and just get to chat with you. Keep doing the great videos!
I miss Mike Myers
Nowon & DPool Productions he's on tv as the host of "the gong show" although he goes under the name "Tommy Maitland"
"A little squishier around the mid section". Perfect. Now I know how to describe my body type next time someone asks.
You can't end your career if you never had one😏
IDK if I just misunderstood the way you said it but Water World wasn't the 1st directing attempt by Costner. He won an Oscar for Dances With Wolves
Ok.... I LOVE your vids to my girly bits
DON'T DO VADER AGAIN
