- Welcome to my purgatory, today I want to see if it's possible for Five Nights at Freddy's 3 be beaten without fixing any errors? Five Nights at Freddy's 3 is a popular survival horror game where you play as a night guard tasked with surviving against the relentless animatronics in a haunted pizzeria.
In this video, I'm going to take on the challenge of beating the game without fixing any errors. Normally, fixing errors/using the maintenance panel is a crucial part of gameplay as it helps to prevent the animatronics from reaching you, helps you to see the animatronics and also generally helps you not lose. However, I'll be attempting to survive every night without using this essential tool.
Join me as I face the daunting task of outsmarting the animatronics, utilizing my skills, and strategic gameplay to stay alive without fixing any errors. It's going to be an intense experience as I navigate through the dark and eerie pizzeria, relying solely on my wits and ingenuity.
Can it be done? Let's find out together in this thrilling gameplay video. I'll be sharing my tips, reactions, and gameplay experience with you as I attempt to beat the game using alternative strategies. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more gaming content, and let me know in the comments if you think it's possible to beat Five Nights at Freddy's 3 without fixing any errors. Get ready for a heart-pounding challenge!

(11:04) The reason Springtrap walks to the audio lures is because the Spring Bonnie animatronic is programmed to move towards the sounds of children, so they wouldn't wander away from the crowd. Because William died to a springlock failure, the suit is in animatronic mode, and is forced to walk to sounds of children against William's will. William is smart enough to know there isn't actually anyone there except for the employee.
Cool fact
I think you didn't get the joke..
@@Negonkey It's entirely possible that Chicken genuinely didn't know why Springtrap went towards sounds of children/BB, but still made a joke about it.
I actually thought it was for more of a morbid reason. I thought it was because William hears the sound of children and instinctively goes towards it to murder said children just for them to not be there. Your explanation makes much more sense lol
@@mynameisaegis this is the only explanation I ever hear
This is literally the first time I’m hearing about the hallucinations that aren’t the Phantoms. It genuinely caught me by surprise
same! and i didn't know you can get so many at the same time. i think i remember when i played long ago i also had two springtraps appear in different rooms and thought the game glitched. i got a bunch of phantom jumpscares before that so it just seemed like the game started breaking.
IK, props to scott for adding this detail that 90% of us will probably never see or notice
I only learned about that last year in October. Before that, I always thought Springtrap was Goku and he just teleported from cam 8 to my office because why not?
Same i didn t know that was a thing
I just learned this today. April 20 2023
I love challenge runs from a lore perspective. Because the idea of a security guard who maybe isn't taking things seriously, burning through all their resources in the first hour, thinking they can chill out the rest of the night. Only to then realize the danger of the animatronics, and scrape by on sheer paranoia is so good.
The phantoms aren’t actually there tho, they are just a figure of Michael’s imagination
@@0-Mustanghence the paranoia, you realise the danger of something that isnt there, if you ever realise the danger of springtrap your dead
Imagine if this was the canon way they do it
Just realized that you don't get vent errors passively in night 6 just due to an oversight. The counter thing works exactly as you described, except it isn't tied to the night number, but rather the AI: Scott set that counter to decrease by 1 every 12 seconds iff AI == 2, every 10 seconds if AI == 3, every 9 seconds if AI == 4, every 8 seconds if AI == 5 and every 6 seconds if AI == 6 (there's only one AI value in this game Springtrap's AI value affects all phantoms too). Trouble is, AI never equals 6, AI = 7 on night 6, so none of these conditions apply and the counter never decreases. Either he set AI to be the night number earlier in the game and then changed it but didn't notice that it affected the passive vent errors, or he forgot that AI is 7 and not 6 on night 6. You can still get a vent error from a phantom animatronic jumpscare or from not looking at the cameras nor the maintenance panel for too long though.
I can also tell you that if you ever see Springtrap in the vent, then you're looking at the real Springtrap. Springtrap hallucinations only occur on the top layer cameras (1 - 10), and never in the vent cameras or if you aren't looking at the cameras at all
Underrated comment, seriously
If Michael canonically did this, it means he has more of a deathwish than he already does.
I mean, it would certainly make the wiring system more likely to combust-
He's a nightguard, not an engineer.
you don't need to be an engineer to make a fire, you need to be an engineer to not make a fire
Night 6 or ANM (Aggressive Nightmare mode) would like a word with you with no system reboots
the freddy's loop has gone on for so long the protagonists have began to start self-imposing challenges
I can imagine Foxy just chilling the entire night, trying to convince you to look at them and failing terribly
"Hey, psst, mate, would ye mind lookin' to ye left for a second?"
😂😂😂
The one upside of this challenge, not having to deal with that asshole
“Hey, there’s a hot chick on your left”
"If you look to yer left I'll give ye a hug. No? Darn, worked on the last guy."
Seeing how the AI works is really interesting and shows how good scott was as a game dev. Especially to make all these games by himself. As someone who does computer science as a GCSE, this is sick.
He has been at it for decades it makes sense he was able to pump the first 4 games out as quick as he did with the experience he had

Every new vid in this "Beating fnaf without ___" series, has taught me something new about each respective game that I didn't know. With this episode bringing up the hallucination system which I didn't even know was a thing until now.
so when I heard phone dude say "Keep that air flowin' or you'll start seeing some crazy stuff man" or something like that always made me think he was either hinting towards the phantoms or it made the phantoms spawn more/ more agressive, lmao
@@TeleportedBread_ I thought either that as well, or I thought the "crazy stuff man" just referred to your vision going black constantly.

that one fnaf2 without lights commenter: THAT WAS A RETORICHAL QUESTION
I thought I was hallucinating. Then it continued and I rationalized I wasn't seeing things. Figured it was a bug or something. ;-;
I'm amazed that so many people are unaware of the danger ambiance in FNAF3, its a breathy whistle that plays when Springtrap is in cameras: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, or anywhere in between, and it gets louder the closer he is, unluckily this sound also plays when Phantom Freddy is walking by
Right? It’s such a good indicator because you can figure out his exact location going by that noise alone.
its very easy to notice
I know right? It's like the hallway danger ambience in 2.
Not really, in FNAF 2 the hallway ambience only tells you that either someone is on the hallway or about to be inside/in a vent, and starting with Night 5 you will pretty much hear that sound from 12 PM to 6 AM. (408 seconds of hallway ambience!)
Huge props to Scott's sound design in these games. Not only do they add to the atmosphere, it also subtly clues you on what is going on.

The reason Springtrap moves towards the audio lure is explianed in this quote form the Night 2 training tape: " For ease of operation the animatronics are set to turn and walk towards sound, giving an easy and hands free approach, to making sure the animatronics stay where the children are, for maximum entertainment/crowd pleasing value."
the other comment explained this but william KNOWS there's nobody there, but he's forced to walk to the audio because the suit is in animatronic mode

For the next challenge:
FNAF 4 without sound?
It seems impossible to me, but you'll never know if the RNG gods is on your side
I second this
I mean no sound is pure rng... kinda, from what I Know is that if you close the door and their in the hallway they will be right next to the door, you might be able to leave and go back to the door and that would make them go away.
You could also do no closing doors but I don't know if you can even beat the first night with that requirement
Id say either no doors, keep on your toes to keep Bonnie and chica down the hall, or no lights, which is in the game already, blind mode
FNAF 4 but you can barely hear the audio and it’s so faint that you can have a bare-bones audio experience and see how you do if you know the game well enough and its mechanics

one more important sound to mention: the "danger whistle." it plays when springtrap is in cams 05-04-03-02-01 and in the hallway to your office. the louder it gets, the closer he is.
25:10 could have been prevented if you'd known to listen for it. the whistling didn't stop, so he had to be in 04.

It's news to me that the "crazy stuff" the phone dude mentions on night one were not referring directly to the phantoms, but to springtrap hallucinations. This is why I love videos on this series, because there's a lot of things in these games that people don't know about in terms of gameplay and set design and such, excluding the lore.
I... I always just assumed it was the phatoms too, lol
I mean, I only watch gameplay footage (too bad at gaming, too unobservation, too much of a wimp, and too poor to play [and beat]) and most people try to fix the errors when they can as soon as they can, so the vent error halucinations are never really something you would see unless you were like "huh, other than making my screen go crazy, what does this do?"

Yeah because the phantoms were Michael's personal hallucinations, trauma from the previous locations.
Just hallucinations in general. It's explored in the Fazbear Frights story "What We Found" where the main character has hallucinations of his past

@@herothehedgefox How could you?!
I always thought that the ventilation error caused a second Springtrap to spawn on the left, but it must've been the hallucinations the entire time. Nice to have that cleared up. What I'm surprised you didn't use (which DJ Sterf did), is the fact that you can use certain audio cues to tell what cam Springtrap is on
You can only hallucinate multiple Springtraps on the cameras, so the ones you can see in the office are always real. And yeah, I was waiting for him to mention the danger ambience, but never did.
@@namesmitt you can actually hallucinate SpringTrap in the office, it’s just rare.
If he’s in the doorway or window, he’s real. Hallucinating rolls a 1/3 for every non-vent camera to decide if it’ll drop a fake Springtrap in it, but there’s nothing for the window or doorway images except to appear if he is occupying that space. Just saying “it’s rare” doesn’t hold up as ChickenNinja stated in the video that sealing vents can rarely cause ventilation errors, but that isn’t true.

Alright.
Here’s an idea for the 4th game, do it without checking the closet.
The thing is, Foxy has to succeed sneaking through the hallways before he enters the closet in the first place.
Thus, you pretty much just have to micro-manage the funny spaghetti tongue man to keep him out of the room.
And once you see the closet door moving, thus signally that he got in, you’d better start counting down your remaining time until he decides to attack.
Hope it’s at least fun, and also, please take some breaks so you don’t go insane.
That should be all. Excited to see what challenge comes next.
Maybe you could try SL with the sound off, or FFPS without the motion detector/audio lure/silent ventilation?
They’re just ideas though, so if they seem too hard or uninteresting, don’t feel pressured to do them.
Still, have fun.
The alcoholic fox furry man
The Snake Tongued Closet Dweller
This could work, but all nights past 4 become RNG thanks to Fredbear and Nightmare having the chance to laugh and go into the closet, so he’d have to hope those two just never go to the closet the entire night. Thankfully the only real problem would be night 5 since nights 6, 7, and 8 wouldn’t be too bad since they tend to laugh about once or twice on their parts of the night, whereas Fredbear’s active the entire night on night 5

the hallucination springtraps on ventilation error is an interesting mechanic, rarely seen since usually you don't check cameras much when you're having a ventilation error, but still a cool way by scott to show that the player is indeed hallucinating
3:14 got me rolling on the floor💀
great commentary and good content, subscribed
Another instant classic! Can’t wait to watch this later, keep it up dude!!
Can't wait for the security breach challenge where you have to beat the game without running into any glitches/bugs
Already been done by Backseat Streams
This is the only video i see of beating fnaf 3 with no maintenance panel. Good job
16:56 3 jumpscares in 11 seconds lol
youre the first person on youtube to explain how springtrap's ai works. quality content!
If you are wondering why springdaddy follows the audio it’s because his suit is programmed to be near people, specifically children. It’s program is somehow still active and follows and child voices without Aftons consent.
Uhh, we know, he was making a joke. "Attracted to children"
@@Negonkey Wow so funny. Save that for Garvey
@@MyNameIsReaper nahhhh💀💀💀
@@Negonkey*Dormitabis flashbacks*
@@underkanal3656 that fucking audio log was the most fucked up thing ever holy shit
“Giving chicas cake to 7 year olds” had me dying💀💀💀
night 6 phantom freddy was just getting groceries out of the car in multiple trips
I had no idea about the Springtrap hallucinations thing. That will most likely help me out when trying to beat Agressive Nightmare mode
Watching Springtrap book it to the door on your left after putting up the came had to be the funniest and also scariest thing in this game for me.
Also, congrats on another successful challenge beaten.
time?
It's honestly so cool that you've been playing fnaf! I came fir cuphead and stuck for fnaf
I had no idea ventilation errors caused hallucinations of springtrap.. the more you know i guess. Love these videos
This guy is extremely underrated and deserves way more subs. Keep up the good work!
I love that the audio lore is 50/50 the suit forcing him to go to the sounds or he wants to kill a child and will drop everything to do so and both make perfect sense
the second one makes afton look a little bit stupider though since he's blindly chasing after children that aren't there
Well. Springtrap follows the audio lure sound due to the fact that he got killed by children souls and he wants so badly revenge
Wow that was really well made
William Afton: Dying the most brutal, agonising, painful and terrifying way
Captions: *Applause*
Cant wait for FNAF 4 without the flashlight!
That’s really easy with the exception of freddy
Fnaf 4 but no sound
@@mr.youtube4723 I think blind folded would be more feasible cuz without sound you aren’t able to tell if someone is at the door or when nightmare Fredbear/nightmare is in your closer/bed
@@essentiialz but iirc that's a mode in the game, and if not it's been done a lot
@@MyNameIsReaper I’m sure he’d be excused like withered Foxy
I literally just finished watching the FNAF 2 video. What luck to see FNAF 3 being recently uploaded. I have to say, this one is probably my favorite because of how methodical the approach is to a seemingly impossible challenge. I assumed it was gonna be mostly luck.
ok but can we just talk about how good the editing was on this video like the spring trap dying part and the don't demonetize me is too funny!!
I didn't kno you could hallucinate multiple Springtraps.
That's pretty coo - and scary! Haha 😅
man watches static for a week in the hope that he will not be killed by a dead person in a bunny suit
Exactly 🤣🤣🤣
I can't believe I beat the entirety of FNAF 3 including the bonus night and didn't realize that you could hallucinate extra springtraps. I remember hearing somebody talk about that but I thought they were just wrong. After you showed it in your video though I realize I was the one who just somehow got lucky lol
No repairing errors
Also Phantom Foxy waiting to jumpscare: look at me... LOOK AT ME!!!
That showcase of the hallucinations was incredible! Everyone says that FNAF 3 is the least scary, but it's moments like that where the game is actively screwing with you that bring the paranoia and fear to new heights
I was JUST watching your previous two challenge videos on FNAF and you suddenly come out swinging with a third, love it
Also that bit at the end with Springtrap was SO good
I suffer to beat FNAF 3 and this guy just beats it without the most important things in the game
I love re-watching these videos as I wait for a new one lmaoo
i just love this one out of the 4 in the series since it literally forced you to watch and listen for the little statics just to also literally guess where he might have went to and somehow win
I like how it shows the AI level at the beginning of each night. It is just awesome!
FNAF 4 with no closet. Basically, you have to listen for Foxy the entire night and if he gets in you're donezo.
(foxy doesn't start in the closet)
Am I the only one who found Springtrap’s jumpscares odd? Bro just nods at you 💀
I’ve been playing FNAF 3 since it came out… and I’M JUST NOW HEARING ABOUT HALLUCINATIONS!!!
