- I'm back at it again! Today I'm going to see if Five Nights at Freddy's 4 can be beaten without any audio cues? Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is a nerve-wracking survival horror game that puts you in the shoes of a child trying to survive against nightmarish animatronics.
In this video, I'm going to test my skills by attempting to beat the game without relying on any audio cues. Audio cues are essential for tracking the animatronics' movements and staying alive throughout the night. However, I'll be pushing myself to the limit and relying solely on visual cues to navigate the terrifying world of Five Nights at Freddy's 4.
Join me as I step into the shoes of this brave child, facing off against animatronic nightmares without the usual auditory assistance. I'll be sharing my strategies, reactions, and gameplay experience with you as I strive to survive every night and beat the game using anything BUT AUDIO.

Just to restate what I said in the video. The audio was recorded by OBS and is a part of the footage but I lowered my headset volume all the way to 0.
I didn't want the video to just be completely mute because that would sound kinda dumb. The strat used in this video works 100%, if you are really skeptical then do it yourself lol.

Finding out Freddy’s AI isn’t 20 on 20/20/20/20 is insane. I mean breaking it down it would be nearly impossible with his AI maxed
Mad freddy is AI lvl 20. Mad freddy insta foxy is definitely possible. I just dont know if chica and bonnie being 5 levels higher would make it impossible or not.

@Ghostzyy my bad. I was misinformed,mad freddy is only ai 10. Essentially, after beating night 8, players can select challenges on the menu that make the game harder. I dont know if you remember, but on fnaf 3 on the cheats menu, one of the options for the cheats was called "agressive mode." It was an option that made the game much harder. On fnaf 4, the challanges are also present. You have 4 options to choose from
Insta foxy: makes foxy start at the closet. So you have to deal with him throughout the entire night.
Mad freddy: freddys ai is set to 10, which means he progresses almost twice as fast as he does in night 8.
All nightmare: night 8 nightmare is present through the entire night, instead of only appearing after 4 AM. Pretty much night 5 with nightmare instead of fredbear
Blind mode: you cant see.
You can also stack these challanges, and do all nightmare + blind mode. Or mad freddy + insta foxy + blind mode.
“Do we think we close the door on this one?” is your version of “the first night is never usually that bad”

I personally love nightmare mode. It basically just throws all hope you had for beating this game out the window, since if you thought nightmare fredbear was bad, nightmare makes him look pretty easy.

I love watching people when they really get serious at the game and start breaking deep down into how the game work. I feel like it's more entertain than those who just run around and use their feeling.
Me too. Like for Snamwiches' 'Alien Isolation hardest difficulty permadeath' run, there were so many little quirks of the AI that he had to find and exploit to give himself a fighting chance. There was one particular human NPC he'd run into that was basically a run killer 8 or 9 times out of 10, bc it was such a crapshoot getting past the guy alive, and he had to figure out that if he shot his gun at a particular staircase on the floor below, it would put the npc in a 'panic' state. The panic state would override the npc's normal pathing and behavior, and make it so that he never showed up at all

I feel like it always was "how is that possible" considering lights are vital, but I do also see your point as how it's just a handicap.
You can tell the sound was really off because even when he got jumpscared he didn't even make a sound. We heard no jumps, which is almost always guaranteed when the loud noise of the jumpscares is in your ears and you lose.

The animatronics are actually very nice in this game. Whenever the kid in the room closes the door on them, they just accept it and walk away, but we know damn well they could just open it anyway and eat the kid.
To be fair, the hunt is more fun if the prey is given a slight chance.

There are no lights, so you can't do any "No lights" challenge.
Cameras and doors are completely necessary. You can't do blind challenge because of Electrobab and Yendo.

@@caper3987 you can't hear where foxy is, and checking both doors then closing them for at least 5 seconds takes, and you might not believe it, over 12 seconds (i mean 2x5 is 10 and trust me, the animation of walking takes over 2 seconds), it could be possible with perfect foxy rng + checking freddy between every door check (so like left door > freddy > right door > freddy etc.) but i'm not sure

How about a fnaf 1 challenge that involves you "pre-moving" a night. The idea is to use some TAS tools or some key input program to input key presses at certain intervals or set times, to toggle lights, camera, or door throughout the whole night. So basically you just sit for the whole night hoping your configuration manages to get through.
It is possible with bots but with a pre-set it is too hard the game relies too much on RNG
I think someone did TAS the first game or make a bot for it. I’ve seen a vid on it and basically yes the guy did it and made it work but sometimes it still doesn’t get thru the whole night.
@@thefallen2220 rng isnt truly random, it depends on previous actions you made during that night and since a tas does the inputs at same frame every night, you can manipulate rng with it

Honestly this can probably be done but it would take serious knowledge of the code
Every animatronic can be countered if you simply know how they work, like as an example, Bonnie can move every 5 or so seconds in fnaf 1, and if your tas can deploy the door for 0.1 seconds every moment that bonnie has the opportunity to move, then Bonnie can be effectively countered, as bonnie can never enter the office if the doors is closed every single time bonnie is able to move, while still maintaining good power
Same for Chica and I'd assume foxy
Freddy I think doesn't even move into the office until you check the cameras in a certain way
The easiest night of all of these would actually be 4/20 mode, where every animatronic is extremely consistent
For FNAFSL, I would recommend without sight, or you get an IRL Controlled Shock every so often.

In theory, there is a danger system where the flashlight blinks faster the more animatronic ready to attack, example freddles will make your flashlight blink more depending how many are there. So you could use the flashlight as a replacement for sound cues for the door possibly, although haven’t fact checked this.

Great job. Something else to note about Nightmare Bonnie and Chika is that, to my knowledge, if one of them is at their respective door, the other one will fail any movement opportunities to the other door (or maybe the movement opportunity will just move them back up). This is to prevent both of them waiting at both doors at the same time, which, if it happened, would basically mean you lose since there is no way to close both doors at the same time.

You know a mechanic is vital to the game when the dude who likes to play games without their core mechanic goes "There is no strategy."
Considering how FNaF 4 highly relies on audio, and not so much on visual cues. Plus with an understanding on how that A.I of the animatronics work, plus how the audio is built to mess with you. I’d say that beating a game that almost solely relies on audio is a HUGE achievement in the FNaF line of challenges. Well played, and nice strategical thinking!

I beat FNaF 4 without sound. I figured out that every time you close the door without an animatronic being there, the game will punish you by putting one at the door. I just closed the door for 5 seconds, opened it, then closed it again.

Honestly yeah, this game isn't that hard without audio, as long as you're fast enough.
Close doors twice (or a few times in a row for good measure, depending on movement intervals), optionally use flashlight, do the same with the other door, make sure Freddy and Foxy are docile, repeat.
Nightmare/ Fredbear is a similar deal albeit you can get some bad luck.
Looking at videos that dissect the AI in this game makes it clear that there isn't much more to it. Sounds obviously makes it easier, but it's a similar deal as Fnaf 1 4/20, you just follow a pattern for the entire night.
its not necessarily the game punishing you but rather the fact that when you close the door the animatronic on that side can move to the door. It is one of the few downsides to the way the doors work as you can close the door, but if you hold it for too long the animatronic can move straight back to the door, or will not move from the door after it being closed as it hasn't had a chance to move because of the 5 second move counter. Both bonnie and chica get moved back to the start when you push away one of them from the door too though, which is nice.
The real fun of this challenge starts after you upload the video and start laughing your way to the bank
