Yup! Used to drive around town looking for people putting free furniture, tires, etc out front their driveway with a free sign, and throw it in the back of the truck and have a bonfire with it in the middle of a field with everyone! It's crazy thinking that was almost 20 years ago! Life flies man
Still goes down to this day.. at least when I was in high school 7-9 years ago. Pasture parties, bonfire, trucks playing music with the doors open and tailgates down and beer pong tables in headlights.
Absolutely!! Convoy of trucks heading down the access road to get down next to the river and a massive bonfire and party occured short after ! Tons of fantastic memories.
It's tunes like this that make me kind of feel sorry for city folks. I know they have old haunts that are special to them too, but hanging out with your boys and the girls around a raging bonfire, throwing down a few cold beers and learning about Jack, Johnny, and a few of their friends was all about growing up Southern/Country. Raidin old man Johnson's melon patch, clearing the barbed wire before he peppered you with rock salt, just made that watermelon taste sweeter. To be honest about it, we never really stole from Mr. Johnson. We would go see him the day before and pay for a melon, then stage it to look like we jumped the fence and stole it. That all ended when some asshole really stole one of his piglets for a BBQ. There was just something about sitting out there in the field, watching the fire burn down and staring up into the stars. Looking around and seeing the faces of the people that you grew up with. Not realizing just how special that time really turned out to be, until you get older and see it on the faces of your children or grandchildren. Went back to the field a few years ago, there's a housing development directly were we would party. So like they say, 'You can't go home again.'
Jason did this song live w Ludicras at the CMTs.. it was amazing .. Jason had a difficult time after the Las Vegas shooting and he was on stage singing w his wife pregnant in the back .. 58 people were killed at that concert cause of one guy shooting high up in a hotel room !! Jason has to go on stage three weeks later .. he also won Entertainer of the year at the ACMs in Las Vegas that year .. I think he’s won three or four times .. his music is amazing!! He’s one of my favs
This song was the first Country song I liked. So I dabbled a little and found a few more I liked. Not total Country fan but I'm learning to expand my horizons....
Bit of trivia for you. This is actually a cover, Colt Ford did this originally. It is a bit different sound wise from this one. Ford wrote it along with Brantley Gilbert.
Man....I'm 41 and we still party like this down south. At least twice a year me and my buddies all get together and have a good ol' fashion pasture party out in a field....good music, cold drinks, plenty of food, and a whole lot of talking about the good ol' days!
Love it,and that's exactly how we did it,I'm a Georgia Girl and in my younger days driving down them dirt roads and meeting up with your friends was what it was about, I'm 60yrs old now,but it's my ring tone lmao 🤣, loved your reaction 💖 hope ya'll have a blessed day 🙏
I am in New Zealand and and a retired country school teacher.I was lucky enough to be promoted to be a country school adviser in charge of 18 country schools.A lot of the roads to reach isolated schools were one lane gravel metal roads with blind corners. We went to town with shovels chainsaws winches spare petrol in case the road was blocked. And I just loved it.😁👌
Oh the memories this song brings to mind. Stealing our parents beer, jumping in a Jeep, driving out on a dirt road. We would drink and talk and life was just so simple then (though we didn’t know that!)
In New Zealand my wife and who are both teachers chose to do Country teaching service. The school was so isolated it was on the Road to Nowhere.I was the principal and lit the fires in the classrooms in winter managed the swimming pool ,helped at hay making learnt how to lamb a ewe etc.The community helped at school working bees with beer lashed to the side of the pool to keep it cold. They worked hard and played harder.Eventually I was asked to be responsible for 18 country schools in our province and loved it.I am retired now but I did get in trouble for just taking the school bus drove up to the mountain with snow on just for an adventure.
I love when we get the blended music from different genres. From Aerosmith and run DMC, to adding R & B elements to rap and rock, and this blend of country music and rap. We find we aren't that different from one another. This is what being a melting pot is all about. Much love.
I'm not a huge modern country fan, but I have been to 3 jason aldean concerts/ live performances and he is awesome. His tour came thru atl 2 years ago and he played for 2+ hours after a long ass thunderstorm and said we going hard and overtime because y'all paid good money to see a show! Respect! And that was 2+ hours of #1 hits btw.
Brantley Gilbert wrote this with Colt Ford and Mud Digger and it was sold to Aldean. Such an amazing song I wish we could have seen Brantley’s video version bc he’s a boss! Aldeans is good also!!
Definitely wasn't country but late 70's, early 80's everyone would be at a field with fires and beer. "Boys in Blue" left us alone, they knew where we all were. Glad I grew up when I did. This song brings back memories for a lot of people I would guess.
Power in the people means all of us back in the day black power power for the people Willits power in the people that means everybody let's March forward let's March it's John just don't drop the toys this time don't let nobody let us drop the torch we just keep marching forward peace and love peace and love
I grew up in a small town in Indiana. Everything Jason is singing about is exactly how we spent our weekends. Chillin by a fire jamming to some music and making out with your girl!
Video (and song) brings me back to my younger years. Any excuse to get lost in the middle of nowhere with my boys and our girls. Didn’t matter if it was Tuesday, or Saturday. Good times.
Love the reaction to the song. I’d love to see y’all react to the original version too. Jason made the song famous, but the original version “Dirt Road Athem” by Brantley Gilbert and Colt Ford is even better in my option. And it’s different too
Here the link to Brantley Gilbert & Colt Ford writing & recording Dirt Road Athem ua-cam.com/video/F7sWmu4ZFnM/v-deo.html Here the link when Brantley had it on his album ua-cam.com/video/Qc22YigT2wI/v-deo.html
I remember being the one the guys had to drag off of some bish who called me a bish. This is literally how we entertained ourselves with bonfires by the river, at Smith’s bottom, partying our a$$es off. Good times, for sure.
'Jack & Jim were two good men', as in Jack Daniels & Jim Beam. LOL 'Swervin' like he's George Jones,' comes from the fact that George Jones was a country singer known as 'the possum' & he was a drinker.
Yall watch the comments to much to really appreciate the song and videos.. yall are more into what is being said on another screen... read what your members have to say afterwards and show respect to the artist js js js... hugs to you both!!!
Exactly how my teenage years were spent growing up. Bonfires and field parties! So many great memories.
Here!

Two things…
1. This is an awesome song
2. Asia you have one of the most beautiful smiles I’ve ever seen!
Brantley Gilbert cowrote this song with Colt Ford. Awesome song!!!
Agree100% need to listen to Brantley Gilbert , or Colt Ford plus would like to add some up church and The Lacs
The thing is. No matter how many times you’ve heard a song. It’s like listening to it for the first time again with y’all

What type of country do you like? Would you want some suggestions of similar country to that?
Bit of trivia for you. This is actually a cover, Colt Ford did this originally. It is a bit different sound wise from this one. Ford wrote it along with Brantley Gilbert.
Can't go wrong with a Ford 😉
The artist that wrote this song is Brandley Gilbert. He got mad bangers! "IN THE STICKS" has a country rock feel to it. The man is talented.
@@collins7426 You're right.
This quickly became one of my favorites. I'm in the north woods of Michigan but's still the same.

I really like his words!! Sums up life in one great song!! Not real familiar with his work, but he's a very good singing artist!!!
Oh the memories this song brings to mind. Stealing our parents beer, jumping in a Jeep, driving out on a dirt road. We would drink and talk and life was just so simple then (though we didn’t know that!)
When Asia smiles like that, makes my heart skip a beat.😍
She sure is gorgeous

At 61 it still takes me back to high school.
Yeah , truth about life.makes me happy. Thankyou 😊
my favorite part of the video is the end when he's standing around the old fire pit...just look at it and you feel what happened around that pit.
I LOVE YOU GUYS. THANK YOU FOR BEING OPEN MINDED

Yeah need to listen to the original song. Brentley Gilbert.
Those were some good bole days memories and the girls and learning about life
He was performing on stage in Las Vegas on October 1st, 2017, when the Vegas shooter started spraying everywhere.
I was a kid in the country. I think that's why I like this song so much. Also, the one with Ludacris is good too.
7Jason Aldean was one of the first to do this type of country. I love it!!!!
That's how I still kick it to this day.I live in the country. Love this song.
Brantley Gilbert wrote this with Colt Ford and Mud Digger and it was sold to Aldean. Such an amazing song I wish we could have seen Brantley’s video version bc he’s a boss! Aldeans is good also!!

Great song!! I love J.A.
The version with Brantley Gilbert singing and Colt Ford rapping is better.
Didn’t know that existed! But gonna find it. Carrie Underwood with Ludicrous “Champion “ is awesome too!
I grew up in a small town in Indiana. Everything Jason is singing about is exactly how we spent our weekends. Chillin by a fire jamming to some music and making out with your girl!

Brantley Gilbert wrote this song as well as Jason Aldean's My Kind of Party.
Nothing beats a country back road that goes on for miles
Video (and song) brings me back to my younger years. Any excuse to get lost in the middle of nowhere with my boys and our girls. Didn’t matter if it was Tuesday, or Saturday. Good times.
Jason living legend
Fly over states one of my fav

True Country
If you haven’t heard mud tires scream on the pavement as you come out of the woods…it’s an experience..if you know you know…😎👍💯🔥❤️🇺🇸
I’m a rock girl but I really like this song! ❤️
There’s a live version of this with Ludacris that I’d recommend watching
'Jack & Jim were two good men', as in Jack Daniels & Jim Beam. LOL 'Swervin' like he's George Jones,' comes from the fact that George Jones was a country singer known as 'the possum' & he was a drinker.
Yall should definitely check out the one with Ludacris it slaps ! Not many rap country mixes sound authentic like it
It’s called “DIRT ROAD ANTHEM” the original writers colt ford and Brantley Gilbert much better version
Right on! Was gonna suggest the same
ua-cam.com/video/TYmy_ACtqVM/v-deo.html

It was said that country couldn't be rap...He did this to prove it could be done.
He didn't do this for that lol... Brantley Gilbert and colt for did this and Jason profited off of it LOL
You need to check out the original with Brantly Gilbert and Colt Ford, they wrote the song.
Yall watch the comments to much to really appreciate the song and videos.. yall are more into what is being said on another screen... read what your members have to say afterwards and show respect to the artist js js js... hugs to you both!!!
