we stopped reporting most crimes in Kelowna.....so the crime stats are severely skewed. Bike thefts, car and boat thefts, never ending break-ins and stuff being stolen from our yards. My truck doorhandles gets checked at least 5 times a night...

@@Michal-ke6lu the police rarely even show up or bother with petty crime as they are probably busy with more serious crimes. Bikes are stripped or repainted within hours or at the rail trail encampments where its too dangerous to try and retrieve

A couple years ago I had to mail using Canada Post's registered mail a bank draft to a law firm, all within Canada. The bank draft disappeared in the London Ontario sorting centre. The bank was able to freeze the draft and no funds were lost. About six months later, the draft showed up, all crinkled and open to the lawyer's office

This is OUTSOURCING by our FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS. This is the result of after hours over to Mumbai call centres cause our banks will not pay Canadian citizens to be the help centre. So they simply filter by age and vulnerability first, likely many accounts and cards of deceased and literally 100s of 1000s of bank cards set up to debit small amounts monthly. The same people put in false bids when your children are buying a house etc etc.

Yes exactly some of those people probably did report stolen mail and the cops didn't care until now that they stumbled upon a huge problem. I lived in new west and the cops didn't enforce bail conditions there and were extremely rude too people don't even want to call them they add insult to injury so often.

The vast majority of my mail has gone missing. That's why all my statements are now digital. But things like credit cards and passports you can't get electronically. Passports come registered though. But yes, this is third worlders at work.

During the covid lockdowns when we had to enter the local cafe one at a time, a guy who shouldnt have been there was standing 6 feet to my left messing with his phone. I bought a coffee with my debit card and within an hour someone had purchased $3500 in skateboard products from the USA. That was the only purchase made on the day.
I wont tell you how he did it so that we are not educating on how do this. But it was a wifi issue. Dont use retailers that dont have a wired in terminal.
Ive had many pieces of stolen mail over the past 4 years! That is in two small towns in BC... Oliver and Ymir...Ive also had 3 vehicles stolen, vehicles vandalized, assaulted walking to the store in broad daylight ...on and on and on!
I have reported it many times but the RCMP LAUGH AND CANADA POST JUST DENIES AND DOES NOTHING!

Banks, credit card companies and the government are sending these documents and cards in the mail. What do you expect?
How will they be reaching out to these people in a way that doesn't seem like fraud? I ignore most phone calls these days.
Canada post deserves some blame. The older community mail boxes are constantly getting broken into.
Maybe we have to go back to the old fashioned mail slots in the door.
