The optimizer is a pretty cool feature for TAS'ing I'm NGL. I was making a Kaizo/defrag/KZ game a while ago in Unreal Engine (that used Goldsrc movement), and a tool like that woulda been smart for me to make back then to find routes in my own maps. It's crazy to see how far TAS'ing has honestly come in HL. A long shot, but do you think we could ever see a They Hunger TAS? Or an Uplink TAS? I tried doing HL:Uplink upside down like 8 years ago, and I managed to do a route all the way to the outside part, but sadly past that it seemed TAS only because of issues with the skybox, even with object boosting. :c

I have a question here. Half life they hunger how can i avoid to lose bhop speed. Please help me im looking for 2 years for it now im still can't find out the solution. How can i avoid to lose bhop speed in all half life mods. Im a non steam halflife player
hey quadrazid, just wanna tell you something that could help you in TAS speedruns i don't know how am i gonna explain this but in goldsrc games, you can bind mwheeldown / mwheelup to duck, and when using that the character bumps up a little bit and it gets a bit of airtime, that airtime can be used to strafe and get speed (in counter-strike 1.6 terms, this move is called ground-strafe, standup ground-strafe), this can be used to go through vents with super speed (1k units a second) and its mostly useful in flat surfaces, keep in mind you need atleast 256+ fps to do this technique. i recommend you to do some research because this could be a really good idea and it could save you alot of time while speedrunning goldsrc games

we call it duck tapping and its used throughout the entire run :)
