Ww2 was my favourite. Does warhammer Horus heresy count? They always felt like historical models having grown up painting 40k😂

I painted ww2 models when I was younger. I used 1/72 scale models rather than 1/32. I think I was lucky, I never got to a point where I worried about what other people thought about my models I just painted them how I wanted, but then again, I didn’t submit to competition or put them on social media.
Excellent point. I was thinking about this when I was making the video as I was the same. I used to make a lot of 1/72 when I was a kid and there was nowhere near the resource material there is available now. Let alone the options from 3rd party parts! So back then I was very much led by the box art
