Thanks, you inspired me to try an Ironman playthrough and make a mod list, made a "necromancer" class that the common-folk really hate and gets blamed for tons of crimes. The whole thing made me embrace letting mistakes and tragedies play out (without quickloading) and working around them. The constant fight or flight sense of survival and choosing who to trust gives the game much more depth, and it further sensitizes me to how my character would act and think. I went through 5+ characters just trying to get out of the starting random dungeon, very humbling experience. Thanks and I hope you keep making these videos. 🙏
Now that you mention it this game does have a similar feel to Warband. Love that game. Also the audio balance this time is really good, if you end up getting a new mic this volume is perfect.

Really loving the series! Definitely going to steal your modlist and give Daggerfall another shake. Genuinely enjoyed it last time I played, just wasn't the right time.
I would love to see a true spiritual successor to daggerfall be made by an independent studio. despite the game coming out the same year I was born there is just a level of nostalgia I still feel for this 1990s fantasy aesthetic that is largely lost today but makes up the heart and soul of older RPG games such as this.
There is The Wayward Realms. It's being developed by Once Lost Studios, who is headed by some of the lead devs from daggerfall. They've shown some concept art and beta footage but I think they just recently announced/started a kickstarter
You got suggested to me the other day and I'm really loving your content! I've tried streaming ironman runs of this game before but it's hard to find others who like playing it that way so I'm super excited to see future vids from you. Keep it up, it's good stuff!
Man, takes me back 10+ years when I used to watch let's plays... This really makes me wanna try out daggerfall! I hope there's a way to make it run on linux 😅
STALKER enjoyers refer to the broke/no gear part of the playthrough as the "hobo phase" and I love it lol. Also this and just I guess older elder scrolls games have these small little mechanics that do so much for immersing yourself in the world. Banking, loans, wearing too warm or too light of gear etc. This game seems sick and now I am very tempted in getting it myself
@@micah_raygun_ Both the originals and Anomaly/G.A.M.M.A. are very solid. Anomaly is how most longtime fans play, a fanmade collection of all 3 games sort of. And Gamma is a modpack for Anomaly
Instead of asking for work I find it a lot more productive to just hit up every tavern and talk to the people inside, especially the barkeep. Everyone inside a Palace, Tavern, Residence or Business can offer quests and taverns usually have a crowd right by the entrance.
Hello! Just wanted to let you know that you can remap your "follow the road" key from F to whatever you want in the mod settings. I don't remember in what video you mentioned that you couldn't do it, but I installed Daggerfall after watching your videos and managed to change it there. Hope this helps!
Clothes for weather is really nice. I'm thinking of a clothes mod where people react to you on how you are dressed. A noble person will refuse to talk to you and will talk down on you if you are badly dressed etc. And a peasant will think you are pompous if you have fine dresses during bad weather etc.
I thought about making a mod for that ( I made Climates & Calories) but when I was mentally what planning it out I realized that despite how many clothes items Daggerfall have, it is still not enough and also: there is no clear indicator what would be upscale and poor clothing. So users would end up selecting the wrong clothes simply by making other assumptions than me about what clothes do what.
@@Ralzar "it is still not enough" yeah that might be. But you have whool shirts and leather pants etc. I think it would be enough, also once this system would be there other moders would probably create something like festive dresses etc. Regarding the assumption points, yeah, I think it doesn't really matter as long as they have ways to probe where this would belong. Ask the shop keeper or have a "etiquette test" so the character could read it from the interaction or something.
@@Ralzar also you can simplify it a bit. You shouldn't enter a king's house with a dark whool robe and/or mail or full body armor and steel boots etc. Also entering a house like that should also not be the norm. In a temple people also prefer a priest's robe or maybe you being more lightly dressed ;-) Common sense things.
Mage's Guild will refill your magicka if you're a member and you can't regen spell points. Just talk to anyone there when you aren't full and they'll refill you
you can call the horse with sugar lumps, i think you can just buy those in a general store. But i'm pretty sure they work from really far away too. If it's bugged you can use the horse_rescue and wagon_rescue commands, i think. Also, you have a really long time to pay off your loan normally
Maybe we have different versions of Realistic Wagon installed, but I usually get a message saying "Kicker of Elves is too far" if he's outside of the area. It makes a bit more sense this way imo so it didn't cross my mind to use the sugar lumps
Hi. Nice video. Sometimes you want to escape to a fantasy world and Daggerfall gets too realistic. The loan denial, waking up tired, can´t afford a cure disease. Would love to hear you talk at lenght about mods, sometimes one can spend a lot of time going through them and looking up exactly what they do, if they work well, have bugs, etc.
I personally think the realism is nice, but this stuff is subjective of course. Regarding the mods, check out my new player guide and use the timestamps to skip to the mod section at the end. The topic is too broad for me to want to tackle in its entirety, but it's a good starting point nonetheless.
Love the map! I feel every medieval/high fantasy style game should have a paper map. Its just so thematic, I dont know what Bethesda was thinking with Skyrims atrocious map.
You stifled a yawn right after waking up, sounds pretty realistic. I don't know how it mechanically affects you, but it would make sense to have a period of being tired right after waking up. Especially if having your morning coffee is an option
"Stiffle a yawn" pops up if you are not 100% rested. Which you only can become if you slept in a bed in an above average tavern/house. So it's just an indicator that you are rested, but you might want to sleep again a bit quicker than if you had slept better.
If y'want more Daggerfall-accurate names for your random new allies, might I suggest the UESP's (Race) Names lists? (more specifically Breton Names because... High Rock). They have every prefix and suffix name for every race used in Daggerfall all listed out, except the Redguards because those lads 'ave 245,310 possible names in this game, but the formula for the generation is there under 'Unisex Names' and is easy enough t' follow (I just generated a Daggerfall Redguard name: B'ord). Of course there's the matter of picking a name from said list (or generating it in the Redguard case), but nothing closed eyes and waving a mouse can't do. I suppose a less low-tech answer would be to copy and paste all the names into a randomised list (or three for mens names, womens names and surnames) and go down that(/those).
Just keep the format like this. I prefer long lets play videos over live streams, as live streamers often get side tracked by their audience (like zaric zhakaron does..)
