@@mattliller I just got the dji a few weeks ago. LOVE IT. But because it only comes with one mic, I was thinking of buying a 2nd one. I do have the original Rode Go mics. But right now I am kicking tires, becuz it's a want, not a necessity.
I have these, amazing mics! Personally I think the Lark M2 sounds just slightly better in noise canceling mode. Unfortunately that is something I need to use as I'm typically in a noisy environment when I'm recording.
Great review. Thanks for the video! I’m currently looking for a wireless microphones so this helps! I am on a tight budget so I was thinking about getting the Boya BY V1, but this now looks cooler and It might be a good investment for the long run. One question, I have an iPhone with lightning now, but when I’ll buy a new iPhone, it will be USB-C so I don’t want to spend 140 euros (more or less) and in 2 years, no longer be able to use it. Do you know if there is an adaptor I can use? (All the adaptors I see on amazon do not work with audio) Or do you know if I can buy both receivers or if they sell the receiver separately? Anyway, good tips, thanks!
That’s a great question. As far as I know, Godox does NOT sell a kit with both lightning and USB-C adapters. And you’re also correct that a majority of adapters on Amazon don’t do audio. It does look like a few of them will do audio (and specifically microphone) if you look hard enough. However, Using a dongle-type adapter defeats much of the convenience of the Cube S. At the end of the day, for my money I’d buy a mic for the phone I have now (and expect to have for the next year or two). The industry is booming at such a rate now, in 2 years there’s likely to be something much better out there anyway. Hope this helps!!
I don’t have the Kit 1, but all the literature says it has a “magnetic charging cable.” Since the receiver doesn’t need to charge, I assume the transmitter (microphone) attaches to the included charging cable magnetically. Please let me know if that works.
I don't have any firsthand experience with the Rode or DJI, but I really don't like that the clip on the DJI isn't removable because that'll just be more bulk on your shirt when using the magnets (as I strongly prefer to do). I also think the Cube and Lark's form factor blows the Rode out of the water.
Awesome review! I just happened across your video when looking for the dji mic 2. But now I am going to take a look at the Godox. Thanks for sharing!
If you're a phone-first creator, I'm a big fan of the smaller mics over the DJI Mic 2.

I don’t disagree with you on any of those points!

@@mattliller Thank you so much for your reply. This does help a ton!!!
I will follow your advice.
The godox cube kit1 product is cheap, but it doesn't include a charging box. How can I charge it?
I don’t have the Kit 1, but all the literature says it has a “magnetic charging cable.” Since the receiver doesn’t need to charge, I assume the transmitter (microphone) attaches to the included charging cable magnetically. Please let me know if that works.
Sounds great. Difficult to chose between the Cube and the Lark M2. What about the DJI Mini and Rode Micro?

Did u film the video in 24fps?
I did. If I’m remembering correctly, all of my long form videos are 24fps.
Does it fit over a phone case?
It probably depends on the case, but it works just fine with my case.
