Just a shame that she is a hypocritical and deluded feminist SJW, who dispises men, but in the same time as she said looking up to them, because as she says they are in all the highest positions of power, which is simply not true. It's time for bullshit to be called out as what it is.
She’s just too perfect in the movie, seems she had been running a fashion magazine her entire life. Her mimic ( facial expressions), her lofty character and charm, the tone of her voice, and the way she walks all impeccable and fabulous.Well she’s amazing in all her pictures and get too much invested in them. I’m wondering how she can manage her personal life with this much commitment to her career.
"When you're a task master, and very disciplined and controlling, everything is not quite right, all the time. There are moments of satisfaction when the work is done correctly, and that's always surprising, but generally you're dissatisfied, and that state of being is not entirely enjoyable."
Did anyone notice, here Meryl is wearing that same animal printed dress, which she was wearing at the movie, when she asked Andrea to say Emily about their Paris trip.
There are so many people living to be nominated,............. and here she is nominated for an Oscar for almost every part she's ever played ..... She's trying to be modest, probably so people could accept her as their equal, but she's obviously so much better then everyone else.... Goddess!
She is kidding and having a laugh in some of the out takes on the dvd , but also on the dvd the director said that she was very in character and would do a scene and then go and stay by herself. But when you're doing this type of role I think it would be hard to get really close and funny with everyone, when you have to be a bitch to them afterwards. And I don't really care how she acted on set when she did such a fabulous job on screen. I love her and she is a blessing to the world
Great interview! Interestingly enough, moments like 2:02 (the firm wording and the impersonality of her eyes closed) show that a trace of Miranda has actually been left on Meryl in a way / they're not too disimilar at all. As she's thinking about the mind-set she had to get into to embody Miranda, it's not too soon before little characteristics actually start to slip back in. There's really not too thin a line between being the perfectionist actress that Meryl is and having to play the consumate perfections that Miranda is. Of course, Miranda does so to the point of exhausting herself which Streep notes, but really I bet there's a lot of elements which Streep perhaps was surprised to see she maybe may have in common with her. It's definitely one of her most iconic roles!
Miranda Priestly is an AMAZING character. She may be the "Devil" but you can't help but LOVE her!! She looks fabulous, she has a real presence, she's REALLY good at her job, she doesn't need to shout or swear to tear someone down. She's also funny as hell! Her insults and sarcasm is so brutal and on point. Meryl Streep is a Goddess and Miranda is a Queen x x
We have few artists in acting but she is one of the five. I hope my novels and books will put me in with some of the better artists in that area one day.
She said that she wanted to do her own thing with the part and put her own twist on the character, and if you read the book it's a lot different to the film so I think that gives her more of a chance to make the character her own :)
imagine the enormous stress of leading the worlds most powerful magazine and being constantly frustrated with visions of beautiful clothing that through your eyes no one seems to be able to put together for you and trying to create just a beautiful world through all the ugliness around her< and being badgered by things that meant nothing to her like budgets dates and finances when she was so driven to just try to bring beauty to the world>i would be and have the exact same frustration and so do most artists and landscapers who try to create balance and symmetry to this earth which we have managed to turn into a landscape of hideous concrete and flat bleak buildings which depress everyone and in no way mimic the earth"s beauty in any way yes if i had her visions i would live in constant frustration and depression: it"s amazing she"s not an alcoholic
I’m glad Meryl Streep took the role seriously instead of “having fun” playing the role. I love a good camp performance but the way she played her added weight to the character.
GREAT! :) Do u have the other interview... U know, the one all of the people put in their tributes and things like that... The one Meryl's wearing the same shirt in and beside her is "The devil wears Prada" title...? Hope u understood me... :) Tnx 4 this! ;)
Does anyone know what brand the girls wear at the intro where they are getting ready? The one I like best is the matching set bra and boyshort/hipster where she is standing in front of the closet trying to decide what to wear. If anyone knows what brand of lingerie that is would really help!
Playing the Devil, was it that fun to play? Meryl: "uhmm.. It wasn't much that fun to play... bec... oh! fFor a naturally nice person like me" :D Yeah right, Meryl!!!! ♥♥♥♥
the interviewer is so charming, usually i find it hard to watch interviews cause it can be awkward when the person is trying to crack jokes to break the tension but this interview was pleasantly enjoyable :)
She was talking about both I think. Obviously the character is in a viscous mood all the time and Meryl has said in order to play that convincingly, along with the other actors, she had to isolate herself from them and keep her distance so it would be easier to achieve this, which made her miserable in real life as well as in the film as she could see them having fun together and she felt she couldn't join in :)
Actors comes from all walks of life regardless of disability or age or race or sexual orientation. Oh my, I am an actor regardless of my disability. I am following in my cousin, Meryl’s footsteps to become an actor and I want to work with my cousin and gay partner, Meryl.
I'm confused. When Meryl was talking about how she was generally in a bad mood most of the time, and how surprising it is when your work is done the right way, was she talking about herself as an actress or the role she played in the movie?
I am going to be prepared for when I move back east to Salisbury, Connecticut and Long Island City, New York and out west to Pasadena, California. I am going to be prepared to become an actor with me having Down syndrome. I have what it takes to become an actor with me having Down syndrome.
I don't know the name of the interviewer, but I can perceive that he has a neutral accent. As It is a kind of interview show, maybe It is intended the speakers either to have, do or perfom sth like an "RP pronunciation". I mean, this is not the case, but his speech resembles, some, RP features in terms of his tones, rhythm and pronunciation.
the only thing missing from her vast catalogue of roles is that of a lady gangster...like a mob boss. bet that would scare off even De Niro and Pesci too!
I SEE "MADONNA" IN "MERYL" "MERYL" IS THE QUEEN OF FILM, MADONNA IS "THE QUEEN OF POP" , LINDSAY "QUEEN OF TEEN MOVIE" BRITNEY "QUEEN OF TEEN POP MUSIC"
I get the sense Meryl never liked Anne. They’re too different. She probably saw right through her pretentiousness. And no journalist ever realized, including this one, that she couldn’t care less about her Oscar record.
Meryl Streep is the best actress the world has ever seen, simple as that.
Just a shame that she is a hypocritical and deluded feminist SJW, who dispises men, but in the same time as she said looking up to them, because as she says they are in all the highest positions of power, which is simply not true. It's time for bullshit to be called out as what it is.
There's Cate Blanchet and Katharine Hepburn, you haven't seen many actress honestly lmao
@@kiwiintheskywithdiamonds7611 they’re great too, but Streep is also on their level in my opinion. Such versatility.
@@kiwiintheskywithdiamonds7611kinda rude tbh I love Meryl and Cate equally people can have favourites bucko

"Is that Anne Hathaway screaming in the next room?"

I wish they’d told us where we could find their website. There wasn’t even a hint!
@RazzoClimhazzard pretty sure it's Tim Vincent - a British TV presenter who used to work on (famous children's TV show here) Blue Peter

Who's the interviewer? He's gorgeous!
Anne Hathaway is pretty and she has a lot of movies
wasn't meryl supposed to be portraying anna wintour? i think its interesting that she doesn't mention her as an influence.

the only thing missing from her vast catalogue of roles is that of a lady gangster...like a mob boss.
bet that would scare off even De Niro and Pesci too!
tomtompataygutom Her role in "The Manchurian Candidate" was about as close to that as she may get.
So she gets participation trophy from the oscars, and no one complains.
I do not write under post name of course.
I SEE "MADONNA" IN "MERYL" "MERYL" IS THE QUEEN OF FILM, MADONNA IS "THE QUEEN OF POP" , LINDSAY "QUEEN OF TEEN MOVIE" BRITNEY "QUEEN OF TEEN POP MUSIC"

I do not like her in that role ... Meryl Streep thinks she can play everything but thats an error
❤
