That scene is one of the most beautifully executed moments in all anime that I've ever seen. And the music makes it escalate to an extremely high level.
The clock tower between the two of them, symbolizing the one thing separating them is time.
This show is just perfect.
Never apologise, let those tears flow, I know it hurts, I have seen this episode 4 times, and still gets me, and even now watching someone else reacting.
漫畫的後續劇情還有更浪漫的發展，期待做成動畫後的成果。看完動畫後再回頭看第一集會有不一樣的感覺。
Humans die at most after 80-90 years, so Himmel knew that if he expressed love in words, they would be happy for decades, but that Frieren would deeply feel lost for thousands of years after his death. That's why he couldn't express his love in words.
On the other hand, Frieren had been dragging on for almost a thousand years since Flamme's death, and she would probably be dragging on even more after Himmel's death, so even though she was vaguely aware that she and he were in love each other, she had no choice but to suppress her romantic feelings.
This scene is romantic, but it leaves me feeling bitter and painful.
I don´t think Frieren was ever "in love" with Himmel, it´s just now that she realizes he was probably with her. So no need to suppress anything.

Frieren herself said that elves in general are aromantic and asexual (doesn't mean they can't love, care for another, nor procreate; they just have no inclination towards romance and sex). She knows about human love and romance, but she is slow at picking up on the clues/cues. She just now is learning how Himmel felt about her. She is now developing a deep appreciation and admiration for Himmel, she cares deeply about him. An elven kind of subdued "love" but not a human passionate kind of love.

The ring episode. Ugh the feels. I love that a character who's not a main can be a fan favorite like Himmel.
This dude has skipped every placement of fav characters on my list instantly by a mile. When I think about it..Himmel is not on the list anymore, he has a VIP placement above first probably forever now.

After watching this episode, episode 1 hits so much harder. There's a quick frame where she's clutching that ring at his funeral. 😭😭😭

little translation error but they did not get the ring after the demon king was slain. It was actually a monster hunt job so they got it sometime in their journey
No need to apologize, embrace how much this show makes you feel, this one squeezes all of our hearts. This was my favorite episode when I got to it the first time. My current favorite episode is #26, can't wait to watch it with you!

Such a good Episode, Himmel Loved her so much
Don't worry about breaking down like you did in this episode. That was a perfectly reasonable response. I mean, we just had the absolute proof of what was in Himmel's heart and mind regarding Frieren, and it was heart-wrenching. That being said, did you notice her smile when she remembered after all the pieces of the puzzle were finally assembled in her mind? That smile could warm an ice ace village.
"Don't do this to me!!.." should be your title for every episode 😂😂
The only way Frieren and Himmel can get together is if she dies. Probably that will happen at the end of the story and will break our hearts.
