- "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)" is a song by English musician George Harrison, released as the opening track of his 1973 album 'Living in the Material World.' It was also issued as the album's lead single, in May that year, and became Harrison's second US number 1, after "My Sweet Lord."
Lyrics:
Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope with this heavy load
Trying to touch and reach you with
Heart and soul
Om
My Lord
Please take hold of my hand
That I might understand you
Won't you please
Oh, won't you?
Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope with this heavy load
Trying to touch and reach you with
Heart and soul
Om
My Lord
Won't you please
Oh, won't you?
Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me free from birth
Give me hope
Help me cope with this heavy load
Trying to touch and reach you with
Heart and soul
Give me love
Give me love
Give me peace on earth
Give me light
Give me life
Keep me, keep me free from birth
Now give me hope
Help me cope with this heavy load
Trying to touch and reach you with
Heart and soul
Om
My Lord

All glories to Srila Prabhupada and to Sri George Harrison the light that lighted the world
I was playing hippy in Colorado mountains when this came out. I kept the song but left the life behind, and went home to Dallas to resume being a city boy. Hippy life sucked but at 72 I still wear my hair long. Grow it for 4 years, then wear it short for 4 ... and on it goes. Bout that time to cut again.
The best
George Harrison the spiritual angel.
