Thanks for sharing! This is a great review with a lot of useful information. It's especially awesome coming from someone who could speak to how it stands up to daily wear&tear. You helped my Christmas shopping research a lot :)
Thanks for the review Exactly the reviews that look into long-term usage are so rare with influences. It's such a lost margin with a lot of products and what really is interesting zo everyday consumers, that want to know how smth stands in more than just a month/week test
That’s exactly what I was thinking when I made the review. Many creators forget that most people don’t get new products every month or every year. Going to try to cater to that market 😂
@@RichAesthetic Keep doing that! It's amazing to see some realism coming to social media like that:) And thx for graciously ignoring the typos. Just saw them aiaiai haha
My opinion: The Hidrate waterbottle is alittle too gimmicky. I was considering getting one, but thought; do I really need to be reminded to drink water and do I really need to monitor my water intake to that degree?
Totally understand that sentiment, in fact I have since turned off the reminders. If anyone needs reminders to drink water, that’s easy enough to set up with the Reminders app or the Shortcuts app. That being said, I really enjoy tracking my water intake. When I was living in America, I was also tracking my food intake, but that’s too difficult to do here in China so I have since given up on that front.
Just made offer 30 bucks for NIB steel pro straw version. Arrives next week. I think this is a good price point for this bottle based on yours and others videos! Thank you.
I own 17oz HidrateSpark Pro Steel Black and I didn't know about 24oz HidrateSpark Pro Tritan Plastic. I would buy that one if I knew it existed. How much does 24oz HidrateSpark Pro Tritan Plastic weigh ? I would like to carry the weight of water, but not the bottle. I don't care the insulation feature.
@@RichAesthetic I should definitely switch to 24oz Tritan. Plastic. 17oz Pro Steel with chug lid weighs 416 grams. I rather prefer carrying the extra weight as water. So I can keep the charging puck but I need to buy a separate body and lid for 24oz Tritan Plastic, right ?
They updated the app back in June to version 3.0 and I had issues with syncing the water intakes. They fixed the issue after a month but I lost some of my water intakes. So what they need to do first is to allow export data feature. They don't allow it at the moment. They only allow syncing with Apple Health, Fitbit and a few more but not allow manually exporting the user data. That's a bummer for me. Find me function with a speaker would be a nice upgrade. They can also add a temperature sensor to monitor liquid temperature. On the app, they also need to show the battery percentage value somewhere visible on the home or history menu. I always forget when the charge is low and sometimes get caught off guard and wait for hours for charging without logging water intake.
Ohhh, I am still crying about no export data feature 😭. I don't need all these syncs with other app that actually don't work properly, just give us manual export to CSV
@@nhnhnhnhn I wrote to the company about data export issue. They didn't bother. I am about to buy a second bottle from them but this issue frustrates me. I will write to them again until they implement it. I think the governments should ban products if users cannot access their data. This is so crucial, a fundamental thing.
It is annoying, a workaround would be allowing it to write data to Apple Health, then use shortcuts to create an csv of the data. Pretty sure that would work
Hi Andee, so I had to check them out, but from what I can tell they are separate from Hidratespark. Hidratespark used to have a similar product called Wave Energy, but it seems they have discontinued that line.
In their app, you can set the number of notifications/flows you want. These can be set separately. For example, you could have the bottle glow 20 times in the day and your phone notify you 3 times while you are behind your water goal. You can set those how you want. Even turning off phone notifications and only using the bottle glow is fine.
@@RichAesthetic ok but I want to know if the bottle stop shining only at the moment I drink (this is what I need). I need it keep shining until drink the water
Right so no it does not shine continuously. The glow lasts a few seconds and then stops until it decides to glow to remind you again. This is probably due to battery life, the more the bottle glows the fewer amount of days the battery would last.
depends on what you want. the technology (water sensor) is the same in both. the difference is that the steel bottle is insulated, so if you like your drinks to STAY cold or hot then that’s better. but the plastic one is lighter 🤷♂️
Hi! I wonder if you could help me. I bought the bottle last August and by December it stopped being precise and the battery lasts only 2 days now. Do you know what I can do then?
Damn, regarding the battery, unless you could find someone who could fix it, I think the only choice would be to get a new battery module from them. Well, you could email their support and see if warranty can help. It might be a defect with your bottle in which case I presume they’d replace it. However it could also be that somehow that part of the bottle has got dirt or water on it and is now damaged.
yes! You can turn off the glow completely, you can keep it to where it only glows for reminding you, or just only glows when you achieve your goal. It’s very customizable. You can also control the amount of notifications the app send your phone.
@@RichAesthetic ah okay great thanks for the fast response I will probably get one rarely use the app and just check the apple health app to see it update as like you said in your video the apps visuals are terrible 😂
Yes for the 2 I showed in the video the pucks are interchangeable. The steel pro was the 21oz and the plastic was the 24oz. I believe the pucks are interchangeable for all the bottle except for the 32?oz.
So the cap is dishwasher safe, before washing the bottle you just take the puck out which just takes a little twist to do so. If you have a bottle cleaning sponge it’s easy, but if you don’t, I just shake the bottle with soap and water inside and call it good.
@@RichAesthetic hi, thanks so much for the tip, i've been researching about this bottle and found that you still have to place it on a flat surface to log intake. This might be inconvenient for a backpacker like me. Do you know other insulated smart bottles that can track without needing to do this? Ty!
So the steel pro you saw in the video, I still have today. It's almost 3 years old now at this point and still works great and the puck looks brand new. It only needs to stand still after you've drank some water. Though it doesn't need to stand still right after you drank, just at some point before you fill it back up.
👋 Hey Tine, great question, gonna post a short on this later 2day! Just head to the bottles tab in the Hidrate, spark app, and then tap on the three dots at the right of your bottle’s “card”. Then you should see the firmware version number at the top of the card sheet view that pops up from the bottom of the screen. Additionally, if you have a firmware update available, there should be a button that says update firmware.
@@RichAesthetic Thanks! And with your help I discovered that the firmware now seems to update a little differently. In 3.0.27 of the Android HydrateSpark app, you do NOT click on those 3 dots but rather press and hold on the icon of the bottle itself - a tap won't do it, it has to be held down. This will bring up the firmware menu, among with battery stats and a few other things. THANK YOU!
All right, that’s good to know. Hopefully any android users wondering about this find this thread. For iOS users, tapping or tap+holding the bottle icon doesn’t do anything. Weird difference in behavior! Also not very discoverable 🤔
@@RichAesthetic No, pretty buried. And the battery percentage is buried in that firmware menu as well when that function could easily be moved somewhere more prominent. The app is a bit janky.
So, I like your video and all the fun insets, video and embedded screen shots. I do worry about the survival of the human race if we have to be told to drink, when to drink and how much. Gotta go, I’m… thirsty
Yeah, I’m still working on improving the “essay” and “conciseness” of my videos! I add chapters to my videos to hopefully help viewers have the option of skipping around to just what they want to know 😊
@@RichAesthetic I found the chapter markers to be very helpful!
