A lot of potential and the car drives the same as when I bought it new ! All I can say Vince is thank you again for the vlogs and adventures ! Oh and for the ones on the fence about getting one do it you will regret not getting one, still have some time I believe one more year.
Of course Chris! Glad to see you're driving your car and enjoying the heck out of it. Got tired of the dealer BS so this car probably has been at the dealer once or twice in the 4 years of ownership. More to come of course, hopefully more roadtrips! I'm biased, but I think this is one of those cars that people will look back at and say it was "under appreciated" because of the collaboration with BMW.
@VinceChristmastree I do agree it sorta seems like history is repeating itself with the Supra legacy of being under appreciated, maybe like the older brother? 😂
Vince took me for a ride in the car right after his big trip. The car feels amazing and with a switch of a button he can drive the car exactly like how it was stock! The supra is such a great platform and I had to get one because of him and many others. Great content with lots of information as always 🔥

I appreciate you sharing your views and experiences. I don't think it's fair to Toyota or BMW to hold *modified* vehicles to any reliability standard, but it's good to see how the platform is holding up as a whole after well over 100k kms. I remember people on YT were really trashing the A90 for "being a BMW" and Day 1 complaining about reliability issues, so it's great to hear an owner's perspective after plenty of miles.
Completely fair point to make! I saw those types of videos too. They were one of the main reasons why I started documenting my ownership. I figured the best way to convince people is to actually mod the car and drive it; it's more difficult to tell people everything is going to be fine without actually putting the proof out there. So I remember thinking to myself, "hey if I mod this car a lot and it lasts, then no one can say anything about a stock or lightly modded car not lasting".
Still enjoying GR Supra is good to see, I was ogling Porsche 718 Cayman’s recently and wonder if they are better…(Handling maybe, but everything else I doubt). Still loving my GR Supra also. Gotta say with all those mods and still no real issues is crazy, @9:30 great angle forget how cool it looks sometimes even with bonnet up. I missed the manual life and got the 23 WRX, downgrade forsure but now I miss the Supra and didn’t give it a chance. I realize now I could’ve bought a manual sometime later on. How was your transition from Subarus into an Auto car? Do you miss manual? I’ll Forsure watch some more of your content!
Great questions. It was pretty easy for me because dailying an auto is much more seamless than a manual and the adaptive cruise control in traffic is a godsend. If funds permit, I would get a second Supra with a manual and just do an upgraded stock location turbo and supporting mods. If you get a chance to drive a manual Supra, I highly recommend it. I think you will appreciate the car with that configuration since the B58 is a fantastic engine. With a manual, it makes it even more enjoyable.
@ thanks for the feedback! I’ll see if I can find one on Turo or find a willing dealer to let me try a manual version! I love the supra design and enjoyed my time while I had one. Like you stated in the video keeping up with the maintenance is critical but I can’t seem to get over that oil consumption on my stock Supra, currently going on to 4 years of ownership!
Hey Eric! Thanks so much. For the 2021 oil burning issue, reach out to your local dealership on that to determine if it is within spec. Since your car is stock, they should cover any replacements if needed. With that said, that is the ideal result, but each dealer is different and the turnaround time might be long. Here's more discussion on it: www.supramkv.com/threads/2022-3-0-oil-engine-situation-over-consumption-questions.14802/page-4
Hi Vince! Great video. I wanted to ask if you can elaborate a little about the spark plug and brake wear sensor issues? I am on stock turbo still but will upgrade within the next year hopefully. Nobody else has mentioned needing to upgrade the spark plugs. Also what was the issue with the brake wear sensors? Thank you.
Spark plugs, I just didn't swap them out when I should have. Ended up causing misfires, but I swapped them out the same day and no issues since. Had too many miles on the original ones. I am running OEM VW plugs now actually. Can't remember the gap, but the part # is 06M-905-606-F. Completely compatible with the B58 and a fraction of the price of OEM BMW plugs. Brake wear sensors, the ones I put on my car won't sync to the car so I have the annoying "BRAKE" light. Different from the "PARK" light when the e-brake is on.
Honestly, I haven't heard or seen anyone talk about the timing chain on this platform because there's so few that are in the very high mileage range. Timing chain is generally a "lifetime" part. We shall see. All other major services I mentioned in the video.
Vince roughly do you know what it should cost me to have the spark plugs, trans fluid, coolant flush, dif fluid and brake fluid done through a third party? Just bought a used 2020 3.0 premium unmodded with 22k miles and wanna make sure everything is done to ensure the life of the car. Thank you.
@holoblack i have always been proactive with fluids and spark plugs with sport cars and without knowing how hard the previous driver drove the car it gives me the peace of mind also from research most people do these things on the supras in the 20k miles range.
Great question. Honestly, not sure since each shop charges a different rate. Probably will have to do the classic "call around and compare prices" strategy. Have you tried the supramkv.com forum? They have a sub-forum for different areas in the country so you can have other locals chime in. At 22K miles though if it is truly unmodded (not returned to stock), I think you will be fine for a while. Sparkplugs could possibly be replaced, but fluids can just be done following Toyota's recommended schedule. If you're in the DFW area, I would recommend @iautowork which I mention on this video.
You're overdoing it. You don't need spark plugs, unless you're tuning or currently misfiring. Why are you trying to change the trans fluid at 22k miles. Most shops aren't going to do that for you at your mileage. The ZF8 has a 50k-75k mile fluid interval. You don't want to change trans fluid for no reason, it has sediment and deposits that helps it shift. Same with diff fluid (come on dude lol) Follow the service intervals, instead of wasting your money.
@@CrimsonRequiem1 Nothing to do with B58 development, but they no doubt tested the reliability of every components in the Supra before letting it be released. BMW cars are unreliable because BMW themself is not stringent as Toyota in testing and quality check, Japanese is better than anybody in the world because of this.
😂 Performance wise you CAN’T compare this car against R35 or Corvette Z06. I get it you like your car and are a huge fan of the platform but come on.. don’t feed us BS. We got the politicians for that!
I can compare it because that's what I was cross shopping this car with, everyone is entitled to their opinion lol No BS here, lots of other people who were in the same shoes as me have said the same. R35 is too dated and as badass as the C7Z is, the overall package in my opinion is inferior to the Supra. I'm not talking about just strictly performance. Thank you.
@@jamesharless6103 I bought a 2020 with this exact mileage recently; what makes you think you need to do all that?
Same with diff fluid (come on dude lol)
Follow the service intervals, instead of wasting your money.
do you still have the subie?
Nope, sold them all.

The new Supra is the most reliable car BMW has ever made thanks to Toyota
No lies detected lol
Toyota had nothing to do with the development of the B58
@@CrimsonRequiem1 Nothing to do with B58 development, but they no doubt tested the reliability of every components in the Supra before letting it be released. BMW cars are unreliable because BMW themself is not stringent as Toyota in testing and quality check, Japanese is better than anybody in the world because of this.
is this manual or automatic?
He mentioned buying it in 2020. They came out in 2020 and were only available in auto at the time so my assumption is that’s an auto
Josh is correct, this is a 2020 model year and manual came out for the 2023 model year. Anything prior to 2023 is an auto.
Is this automatic?
its a 2020 model, they didnt have the manual til later
Yes as the above comment mentioned, it's an auto since the manuals were not offered until the 2023 model year.
“I was single when I bought the car” I’m guessing u have 3 girlfriends now lol
3 girlfriends and 69 boyfriends lmao
All to guys can afford a supra but won't can't be seen in a 1k beater to keep the miless off your prize possession is funny to me.
Some of us buy our cars to drive regardless of the cost lol
Why you sound like a German sometimes
must be the Z4 talking
Yeah it's the Z4 accent coming out
😂 Performance wise you CAN’T compare this car against R35 or Corvette Z06. I get it you like your car and are a huge fan of the platform but come on.. don’t feed us BS. We got the politicians for that!
I can compare it because that's what I was cross shopping this car with, everyone is entitled to their opinion lol
No BS here, lots of other people who were in the same shoes as me have said the same. R35 is too dated and as badass as the C7Z is, the overall package in my opinion is inferior to the Supra. I'm not talking about just strictly performance. Interior quality and tech of the Supra is superior to the Corvette.
i can never understand why people put those ugly suitcases on top of the car, ruins the whole car
Because they rich with time plain and simple.
Because people can do whatever the fuck they want to their cars lol
8k mile road trip you want to maximize the storage you can get. Obviously he takes his car on long hauls and needs the extra space.
