as someone who is a big fan of both camembert and brie and has both in their house, i can confirm, brie is more of a runny, soft cheese, but camembert is firmer and denser. also, brie tastes more like butter, milk, and cream combined, and camembert tastes more like of a earthy/mushroomy taste, it tastes more bitter and its doesnt tend to melt in your mouth.

smoked chedder cheese is the best. Waxing is used aged cheese designed to provide a safe coating. It helps to prevent the growth of any unwanted mold whilst retaining the cheese's moisture and preventing it from going dry.
I actually thought they’d take all the cheeses at the end and melt it down into 1 super cheese and taste that, like a kings cup of cheese. Sad they didn’t.

2:53 just to clarify In Italy we will NEVER eat that thing you have in your hand. I don't know who or why calls it mozzarella, because *that is not Mozzarella*, the shape resembles the "Provola", it has nothing to do with real Mozzarella, which is fresh and should be eaten within a few days. On pizza we put real fresh Mozzarella, or better Mozzarella di Bufala or Burrata (after cooking). Fresh mozzarella is stored in containers containing "liquido di governo" or preserving liquid = water + whey + salt.
if anybody is wondering Cheese has a rich history dating back thousands of years. Its origins began around 8000 BCE in the Fertile Crescent, shortly after the domestication of animals like sheep, goats, and cows. The earliest archaeological evidence of cheese-making dates to around 5500 BCE in Poland, where milk fat residues were found on pottery fragments. Ancient Egyptians were making cheese by 2000 BCE, as depicted in tomb murals. Cheese was also well-known in ancient Greece, mentioned in Homer's "Odyssey" around 800 BCE, and was further refined by the Romans, who spread cheese-making techniques across their empire. Today, cheese remains a beloved and diverse food enjoyed worldwide. Fresh cheeses like Ricotta are perfect for lasagna, cannoli, and cheesecakes, while Cottage Cheese works great in salads and dips. Mascarpone is key for tiramisu and creamy sauces. Feta adds a punch to Greek salads and spanakopita. Soft cheeses like Brie and Camembert are delicious baked or on cheese boards. Cream Cheese is versatile, used in cheesecakes, bagel spreads, and sushi. Mozzarella is a must for pizza and Caprese salads, while Gouda and Havarti shine in sandwiches. Semi-hard cheeses like Cheddar are everywhere from mac and cheese to burgers, and Gruyère is essential for fondue and French onion soup. Manchego is perfect for tapas. Hard cheeses like Parmesan and Pecorino Romano are best grated over pasta, and Asiago is great in soups and salads. Blue cheeses like Gorgonzola and Roquefort add strong flavors to salads and sauces, while Stilton is perfect with fruits and nuts. Each cheese brings unique flavors and textures to dishes Fresh cheeses like Ricotta and Cottage Cheese don't need special knives. Mascarpone spreads well with a regular butter knife. Feta crumbles easily with a fork. Soft cheeses like Brie and Camembert should be cut with a soft cheese knife that has holes to prevent sticking. Cream Cheese spreads easily with a butter knife. Mozzarella slices easily with a multipurpose knife. Gouda and Havarti can be sliced with a semi-soft cheese knife. Semi-hard cheeses like Cheddar and Gruyère need a sharp cheese knife or a wire cutter. Manchego slices nicely with a cleaver-style knife. Hard cheeses like Parmesan and Pecorino Romano need a parmesan knife with a pointed tip to break off chunks, and Asiago works well with a similar knife. Blue cheeses like Gorgonzola and Roquefort are best cut with a narrow-blade knife to prevent sticking, while Stilton can be served with a Stilton scoop. Using the right cheese knife can make a big difference in enjoying all the flavors and textures To make cheese, you start with fresh milk, which can come from cows, goats, sheep, or buffalo. First, the milk is usually pasteurized to kill any harmful bacteria. Then, a starter culture (good bacteria) is added to the milk to help develop the flavor and texture. Next, rennet (an enzyme) is added to coagulate the milk, forming curds and whey. The curds are cut into smaller pieces to release more whey, then stirred and sometimes heated. After that, the curds are drained and molded into shapes. Depending on the type of cheese, the curds might be pressed to firm up the cheese. The cheese is then salted, which can be done by adding salt directly, brining, or rubbing salt on the surface. Finally, the cheese is aged (anywhere from a few days to several years) to develop its flavor and texture (you guys forgot lots of cheeses meaning you might need to make a part 2)
Sooooo definitely try smoked dutch cheese (its so so good). And spiced gouda. You also forgot maasdam (its like Jarlsberg but its creamier got the little holes and everything) Fromager d'Affinois is pretty nice too. Im with josh the "crust" on brie and other creamy cheese is foul. You gotta eat between the rind. Im not a fan of blue cheese but we sell one thats like creamy af which is nice and bearable. Some of your pronunciations hurt a little but it was such a great vid. Loved it! Absolute S tier x
