Honey. Everyone has these disappointing projects. We're not judging you. Be kind to yourself. Sometimes, a change in direction leads us to inspired choices. And from what I'm seeing, you're headed that way. Hugs. I can't wait to see the results.
Awww, not everything works out the way we want it to and that’s okay! In this case I believe that this might be a blessing for you! I am actually so excited to see the dinning room with a tablecloth and all the amazing accessories that you found for the dinning table! I think your original idea for the table was really nice, however I do think that it would look so much more intentional and with a sense of finished look. I think this tablecloth will tie the room together so much better and would have a more sophisticated look. Don’t be disappointed, everything happens for a reason! 🌞🫶🏻
Thank you! You know I tend to agree with you that everything happens for a reason ❤️ And while I was really disappointed at first I definitely am getting excited to decorate and move in this slightly new direction with it. Hopefully it turns out just as beautiful, I can’t wait to share the final result with you ☺️❤️🤞🏼
The only way for us to learn is through trial and error. If we don't make a mistake, then we won't come up with awesome ideas like you did with all beautiful things you bought. It is going to turn out even better than you imagine it would be, and you are going to really love it. You got your plates and glassware that you wanted, so you are good. BTW .. I'm late waiting because i wanted to binge watch your videos 😊 Don't give it! And I LOVE the way it turned out ❤
Woohoo! 🎉 excited to watch! ETA: Just finished watching and you absolutely should not feel bad or apologize. Things happen- you’re a DIYer and this is your personal space. You didn’t ruin a client’s things 😬 I think your pivot is realistic. You can always come back to it when you feel mentally ready/get another idea. I was going to comment that you should check out Black Sheep House, she has tutorials on making a faux Pottery Barn wood finish. I know you said you didn’t want “painted on wood grain lines” but maybe you can get an idea from her technique to get the look you want. OR the only other thing (if you wanna still DIY it) sand it all down and stain the raw wood. Which is a huge undertaking I know! Either way, I’m still so excited and looking forward to seeing it all come together. I know it’s going to be gorgeous!
Aww thank you so much for this 😭😭😭 you are so kind and you are absolutely right that it’s my own and not a clients or anything and it’s okay if it went a little sideways. Thank you so much for the encouragement and the ideas and advice. I’m not sure when I’ll be ready to tackle it again but I know it’ll be okay even if I was disappointed now, it’ll all be okay ☺️❤️
Your dining room is going to look gorgeous when you dress up the table with your linens and dinnerware. I predict you will love it so much that the table won’t matter much and you will have fun adding your final touches. I’m excited to see the final reveal. You have done an amazing job. ❤
Brooke, please don't be hard on yourself. Your dining room space will look fabulous all styled together. You never know the table might look fabulous in black also, with lighter accessories if you don't like the current colour. I look forward to your next video. 😀
Thank you so much Carolyn 😭❤️ I appreciate you and your encouragement. I do have hope the space will still come together even if it’s not what I originally imagined, I can’t wait to show you the full reveal and I’ll be sure to keep you updated on any updates I make to the table in the future but I know I need a lil break at least for a while haha 😆
I absolutely love the browns. I’m thrilled to have found someone else who loves brown! I was so curious about how you could create the look you wanted on the table, but I’m actually satisfied with what you are calling a failure. I learned so much, and the “failures” teach me more than the successes. Thank you for this video. It’s truly inspiring! ❤
I havnt always loved the browns but I have really learned to love the browns and blacks together, I find it just softens everything! And thank you so much. I am so glad that you were able to still enjoy the video and find some inspiration from it! 🥹❤️
This was quite a ride. We have all had those projects that can be so discouraging. But I know u can make lemonade from the lemons. I have a very similar table in my kitchen. It doesn’t have leaves but it has the same orange top and off white legs. If u want the table to really shine then spend the time on the top and let the legs go for now. I would consider sanding down to the raw wood on just the top and stain it the beautiful driftwood color I think u wanted. I did that with mine and it looks so refreshed. I painted the legs an ivory because they were almost yellow before. But u could always paint the legs black or something. Yay for the beautiful table linens! Just use those for now and take a break. Don’t rush and push yourself for UA-cam. Do it when u are ready to tackle your next move on this project. Fatigue is a real thing and can steal your creativity. It will be awesome no matter what. It may just take a few months to be where u want it.
Thank you so much for this 🥹😭❤️ I really love your ideas and I appreciate your invitation to wait and let my creativity thrive again before tackling it again. Thank you so much, I think I will just live with the table cloth for now and hopefully the full reveal will still be super nice for you ☺️🤞🏼❤️
Ahh sweetheart.. don't apologize & don't be so hard on yourself, give yourself grace! No one gets it right all the time, everyone makes mistakes or messes up.. even the professionals! In the end, regardless of what you decide to do, is going to be the right decision & Its going to be burgundy beautiful! You're already excited with the decor, and I'm so glad you found something that makes you happy, honestly i think is beautiful! If you decide to eventually get a new or new to you table, then in the meantime have fun thrifting different linens & dishes or linens & just pieces for a beautiful tablescape! Play with it & have fun! I mean Christmas decor already out, start picking up pieces for a Christmas table... you can always thrift glasses just for looks & not drink from them if its something you just can't do! It don't have to be expensive or fancy as long as you like it & are happy with it! Whenever we get moved, whatever table i get will be for the size & shape because i think that's exactly what I'm going to do! Just thrift things and keep it pretty! Unless of course I find something i fall in love with at a great price. I'm still just as excited for the final reveal!😊

Its going to be stunning with all your decor which is beautiful. Love the more natural colors of what you're going with. Take the advice of an old DIY veteran. Scrap the table and order the one you really want! Your time is worth more than saving some money!!
I LOVE this lol. Thank you. Seriously I needed this permission haha. I actually was in a consignment shop today and saw a table and considered it lol. So I think I’m definitely open to looking for the perfect one, and I appreciate you telling me it’s okay ☺️😆❤️ Now to convince my husband! Haha
@@brookedonnellyliving I like this idea! Maybe fix up the table and sell it to make the money back from getting a new table??
