Update: we hiked to upper Loch Leven lake. The first mile or so was not too pretty, though the lakes were nice. We also got caught in a freak snow storm (in June) but had a great time :)
This was this past weekend? Glad you stayed dry! I went to Jennie Lake in Sequoia NF. No snow worth mentioning at 9500 feet, and none of that precipitation.
That's what I'm talking about. I find the whole "ultra light concept" ridiculous, because strong hiker=more and weak hiker=less weight capability. It's all relative. You should do what you can do. Unless each hiker is trying to go for maximum distance. Hiking is a defined point to point distance activity(campsite to campsite) Why does a strong young hiker need to carry the same light weight pack as a lesser hiker. It's like big olympic weight lifter working out with 5 lbs dumbells. Obviously, on this trip your pack is not integrated, but you guys know what I mean. The mindset of strong hikers=more load for defined distance is just common sense.
that had to be the most perfect PCT "hang" i've ever seen! and what a beautiful morning.
I really appreciate that you appreciate this 😁
Love the ultraheavy stuff you brought 🤣 With so many ultralight videos, this was a nice change. What a beautiful morning up there too!
Proof that you don't need to go ultra light to still have fun 👍
You look the happiest man in the world despite the heavy backpack, hail and mosquitos.
Marriage goals! Loved watching you guys trek! Please bring more content bro!
This video is not what I expected and it’s made me all types of happy. Keen to see what else you guys put out! :-)
Amazing, I was just debating to hike this trail with my wife (she's new to backpacking). Definitely will pick this one :) Thanks!
Hope you have fun! Emily highly recommends it

Loch Leven!! Yaay! I'm heading out to Desolation next week for a mid week overnighter! Stoked for summertime and for more adventures from you!

This was the weekend of May 28-29
You two are so cute! More Emily trips please!
Holy glamping! Nice. :)
Wait..35 lbs is ultra heavy? Lol
When I attempted Mt.Whitney last year, my pack was around 43 lbs haha
I carry Hilleberg tents and mystery ranch backpacks, so I appreciate a good heavy camping video😂
Super cute video! I enjoyed seeing the trail and the comfy gear you brought.
lol H/T to you for ensuring your wife's full comfort on the "trek".
Wow, that’s an impressive view first thing in the morning
I was hoping for a gear list?
Congrats on the marriage! (somehow missed the video from last year) Looks like a neat place to camp.
Thank you! Been a long time, good to hear from you
This hike looks amazing! Is the trail map available on all trails? I cant seem to find it anywhere
