Homesteaders/Small Farmers are a resourceful bunch! Great way to store corn (corn crib) using a IBC tote. We made a hay feeder using an old IBC tote. Thanks for sharing, well done ya`ll!

The ingenuity of farmers never ceases to amaze me and how many different ways you can find to use an IBC tote! 🤣 Thanks guys!

@@AlleghenyHomestead I had an old-time farmer tell me once a used IBC tote or a 55 gal barrel was 2 of the most valuable things around a small farm...I tend to think he was right!

Great idea for the corn. If you plant the sweet corn early enough can you avoid cross pollinating with dent? Kaja is always entertaining and glad the cockrell has a friend. Work never stops. Don't know how you have time for your video work.

I think we're going to try that - staggered planting. Seems like it could work. Kaja makes sure there's never a dull moment! 😂 I'm really hoping little Oa gets along with his lady friend. It would be so good for him. As far as having time for filming and editing... it's tricky some days! Very long days and late nights, but you find time for the things you love, I reckon ❤ I only wish I had time to put out videos more often!

If you are in a climate where you can grow chufa, it is ideal for a number of reasons at least as a supplement. First, it is nutritionally on par if not superior to many feeds, especially when naturally supplemented. Second, it can be grown with silver supplementation to help offset chicken viruses. Third, if the chickens don't like it, tigernuts are awesome nutritionally and in taste for people too!:) Finally, it does not have to require much maintenance or additional resources. Depending on your climate, it may grow year after year.

Interesting! Thanks for the tips! I never heard of chufa. I'll have to look into that! Sounds like it could be really useful! ❤
