So good to see you!!!! I have missed you all!!! We've been burning the candle at both ends, but for very good reasons!!!! Might be another couple of weeks and I'll be able to "see" you all in the Saturday meetings!!! My bees are holding their own. Thank you for all you do for all of us! If it was a perfect world we'd all be bored! I travel 10 miles between our properties these days. That other property does not have internet so I have not been on FB like I was used to. Again, all is good and we hope that all is good with all of you. Best to your bride...and you...and Mr. E...and all good souls on Saturday nights! Time to hit the hay. mornings come early these days. Love and Blessings
Thank You Don for all that you do.I have learned so much from you.I hope to drive down there to shake your hand, learn some more and hopefully buy some bees.Im a second year beekeper thanks to you.My three children ages 12,9,and 4 are into it. We Love It!Building our own boxes, making foundation and candles.Thank You Bigtime!!!Love You Man Stay Well!!!
Hi Don -Our uncapper arrived today and in perfect condition. We share your opinion that this unit has a lot of benefits and it should last forever. We will have to wait a few months to try it out as we are in Ontario Canada and there is no honey moving in Feb.
Only input I have is that it fits perfectly on the : Mann Lake HH231 Plastic Uncapping Tank, Gray sideways, leaving room for frames in front of it. Little tie-down strap under tank and away you go!
I agree this is a bit expensive, especially if you have just a few hives. If you are a hobbyist with 1-5 hives you should check out the Ultimate Uncapping System from Bee Smart Designs, it uses their patent pending hand held Ultimate Capping Slicer tool and Ultimate Uncapper frame holder that does everything this does for under $20.00, plus it is safer, and works with any 5-gallon bucket. If you want affordable, easy, clean, simple, fast and food safe check out the Bee Smart product; regardless of how you uncap it outperforms every other tool.
i sell bees wax candles from my capping's after the honey is harvested. would this machine take enough capping's off so i could sell wax by the pound and produce candles . I like the machine but a bit nervous about laying out that kind of money .
As I have never used natural wax foundation I do not endorse using the Simple Harmony Farms uncapper on natural wax. I will try some natural wax this spring.
Hi Don! I have to say that it looks interesting and I think I'm going to have to get one asap :) Looks clean and simple. I also agree on the hot knife and hot plane issue discoloring... always nice to see your videos. Enjoy the rest of your winter!
Holy moley!!! The Hive and the Honey Bee hates me and my uncapper. For the 4th time (So far) the uncapper is $414 shipped anywhere in the CONUS NOT $455. Once again, let me say: I do not use wax foundation so I do not suggest using the simple harmony farms uncapper on natural foundation. I will try natural wax this spring.
Be Advised....FROM the Website: Q: "Can the uncapper be used on natural wax foundation? A: I have not and would not advise using on natural wax foundation. "
I have never used wax foundation, so out of an abundance of caution I do not advise using it with wax foundation. I will try it on wax foundation this spring and report the results.
414 dollars is awful expensive for one of these things. Especially to the small beekeeper or hobbyist. My suggestion would be... 1. Get together with a group of beekeeping friends and buy one to share. If it works out and everyone wants one then they can spend the money for a second one. 2. Get your local bee club to buy one and rent it. Our club has an extractor that they rent out for beekeepers who just don't want the storage issue with an extractor. Just my thoughts. But, if my hives come through the winter (which I'm not confident this year) I may just buy one anyway to have.
I'll wait for your report to pull the trigger or not, cause I don't use plastic at all, it is a very nice piece of equipment , brilliant idea, Thanks so much.
Dont people want wax though?!?! It seems like this unit decreases drastically the amount of wax you can use for painting on new foundation, making candles, lip balm, or just selling blocks of wax for $.
Well, a box-opening... Not really a review of the product and it's capabilities. Looking forward to seeing it in use and a real opinion on it at that point. (A) can the rollers be adjusted for width, for those of us that run supers with 8-9 frames instead of 10 frames? (B) How often do the rollers clog, and how easy is it to clear them while on-the-fly in production?
Ok, I'm back. Thank you but No Thank you. You cannot use it on natural foundationless frames. It costs $455.00 including shipping in the U.S. I'm now the opposite of impressed. Better things to do with my money. How are we preventing aluminum oxide from getting into the honey?
I don't know what I did to The Hive and the Honey Bee. My uncapper uses aluminum rollers. Other very popular uncappers of a similar style use aluminum rollers. Also, my uncapper has never been $455. The uncapper is $414 TOTAL shipped anywhere in the CONUS.
Ah is that right. According to your own website it's $413 (Not $414) including shipping CONUS and you sell it for $455 including shipping to Canada. www.simpleharmonyfarms.com/simple-harmony-farms-uncapper.html 7. How much is the uncapper and shipping? A:Shipping is $18 CONUS. Shipping to Canada is $60 and to New Zealand/Australia is $95. The uncapper is $395.
This device has nothing to do with the bees. If there's some confusion, I'd be glad to answer any questions. Simple Harmony Farms had quite a nice year and so far my hives look good, even with the cold....

it will do much better as the is equal pressure on both sides no more slinging with force the honey out
The seller says NOT to use it on natural foundation at all.
As I have never used natural wax foundation I do not endorse using the Simple Harmony Farms uncapper on natural wax. I will try some natural wax this spring.

I decided not to. Did you?
can't afford it and I only use natural drawn comb frames.

It's only $414 shipped, not $455, so you can afford it.

Can't wait to see it in action.
I wish you had shown us some closeups!
there is some pictures on my group=thefatbeeman group on face book
You can only run plastic foundation through it.
We do not use wax foundation in our apiaries so we do not feel comfortable recommending it. We will run some this spring and report back.
I'll wait for your report to pull the trigger or not, cause I don't use plastic at all, it is a very nice piece of equipment , brilliant idea, Thanks so much.

Go to the suppliers website, there is video of the operation, it works,
It’s the rollers of the sideliner basically with a much lower price point
yes its a complete unit
Rex Smith j
i like to see it in ACTION i use a hot wire
Exactly where is wax removed and collected?
its used over a drain tub
yes but it does not decap it pierces holes to allow honey to spin out so there is very little wax taken
You just saved me tons of money
How much is it
you can contact the maker===simpleharmonyfarms.com
It's $455.00 including shipping in the U.S. direct from the seller.

Is this contraption how you killed all your bees this year?
This device has nothing to do with the bees. If there's some confusion, I'd be glad to answer any questions.
Simple Harmony Farms had quite a nice year and so far my hives look good, even with the cold....
I like it
Don all that talking and you don't show how this gadget performs, sad !
this spring will do a video on it winter time we don't extract honey
@@fineshooter Still waiting on that video using the uncapper.
That’s 400.00 wow
That can buy two beginner honey extractors!
What a disappointment. It’s not a review without a demo.
