- Multiple law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals and the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, are held a news conference to talk about the results of a recent operation that targeted violent crimes in the Phoenix area.
Per a news release, the operation, known as "Operation North Star," identified and captured fugitives "who used firearms in the commission of crimes or signaled high-risk factors for violence."
"On designated weeks between May 10 to September 13, 2024, the U.S. Marshals Service and law enforcement partners of the U.S. Marshals WANTED Task Force in Arizona completed the final phase of the national effort to reduce violent crime," read a portion of the statement.

Tucson is out of control too. I polled a group of people in a police scanner group about crime in Tucson. So far, about 98% believe that the cartels are in Tucson and most of another group in another poll believe that DV cases are amongst the top crimes being committed here.
Now the big question. If they have been arrested before, why were they let out? Especially violent career criminals.

@@ceciliazapata7533 it’s crazy and then we have these insane accidents that caused back ups for miles and mess up everyone’s day. Our freeways are quickly becoming death traps and DPS is nowhere to be found. They are failing miserably.

Ah, the illusion of justice. Most of these violent offenders will never see jail time. Certainly never the amount required by law, written by rich men. Women survivors of domestic violence, who were forced to defend themselves, spend more time in prison than these guys ever will.
I agree with law and order but I wish law enforcement would stop denying citizens of our God given rights of freedom until and unless proven in a court of law. Instead of jailing suspects until they prove themselves innocent. They do it backwards!

This is what law enforcement should be doing, instead of harassing law-abiding citizens and stealing money from them under civil forfeiture laws. Recovering trafficked children and stopping cartel activities should always be primary. Prosecutors and judges need to stop releasing the criminals or failing to prosecute them.

What most people forget, this is NOT entertainment for us. To do this, jails have to be cleared, hospitals have to designate staff for assessment and admissions. Court calendars have to be cleared and jails prepared for intake. If you drive around Phoenix suburbs you know this was a major plus. Thank you law enforcement.
