I fully respect your view, but I will also say you seem to underestimate the amount of work that some people put into their AI creations - you can edit certain parts, you can adjust and tweak parts of your image (much in the same way you would edit your digital art). Yes, there are some people that simply run a prompt and churn out 100 images that all look similar, but this is not correct of every person that uses AI to create an image. I personally feel it - and the process behind it - is still very much misunderstood and real education is needed along with regulations. And while yes, I may be biased because I use AI myself, I like to believe I'm fairly open minded and open to learning. For me, it's a tool to express my creativity. I can draw. I can paint. I do both fairly well. But I simply don't have the time and resources to do that anymore. AI image creation has allowed me to explore that part of me again, and use my imagination to create a prompt that creates the image I want - and tweak it to my exact desires. And yes, sometimes I share that image with other people. Sometimes it gets turned into a diamond painting. Sometimes it gets saved on my cloud never to be seen again. But it bought me joy for a bit, and that is why I will continue to use it as a creative outlet. On a side note: you might want to stop using any Meta platform to share your art, and anything owned by Adobe. They have openly said they are using images from their platforms and software to contribute to machine learning databases.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I totally support people who further edit their AI art creations. I feel that that is the correct way to use AI. Again I would be more comfortable if the source for that image had a known and legitimate origin. But having used AI image generation a little I am definitely aware of how difficult it is to get something that genuinely looks good (and doesn't have 6 fingers!!) again I think that there is a huge difference between someone who edits the images generated and someone who just put prompts in. Just to reiterate, I am not upset with people who use AI i am upset with companies who have trained the programs with art without getting the explicit permission from the artists 💜 I don't use any Adobe products and as for Meta interestingly they are the one company that has actually included an opt-out clause for artists which I have done. So according to the email I received from them they will not be using my images for their AI.
Really interesting Diella and I love you art...My favorites are Salty and the finches! x
Aw thank you so much!
Very well put. 👍
Thank you very much :)
Well said, very thoughtful ❤
