I'm german, and I grew up with the original by Peter Schilling.
I know all the cover versions, and I can honestly say, that this one is hands down the best of them! 🤩

Major Tom is one of my favourite 80's songs. I was relcutant to listen to this but I am SO glad I did. This is sooooo good!!! I love it!
Peter Schilling (the original performer) did a German version and an English version. This is (obviously) a cover of the English version with a little homage to the German version at the end.

He's not re-entering the atmosphere. It's from 2001: A Space Odyssey.
I figured they tried the atmosphere, knowing with the broken wing they were doomed, but better to die fast than slow. The astronauts die (lights from 2001), while the shuttle bounces out of the atmosphere completely trashed.

Naked pop, I was hoping it was a cool team.
