** I learned this song after my band's guitarist wanted to play it and it was a lot of fun to learn. We never played it live, but just kinda jammed with with it. Later that same year, I was at a meet and greet and fiddling on the bass when a guitarist started playing this song. I joined in and we played about half of it until one of us got off from the other. We became friends after that and played together in the marching band.

This is wrong. The first fret in the E string is played on the last part of the 4th beat, not in the 1st beat.

Really nicely played. I don't know the song well but the tab seems an eighth-note delayed on the verses. That is, I hear the F come on the "4-and" (8th eighth-note) rather than the 1-beat. Just me, perhaps, but it's clashing with my internal metronome. Still, helpful to get the notes and the video is great. I'll bang it into my head. Thanks much.

It’s such a fun bass to play. They still make them, so you could grab yourself one pretty easily
Those inconsistently appearing louder notes are what makes this cover better. Also why don’t you play with longer naiks and also with a pick?
I don’t like longer nails because I can’t get a good sound consistently with them. I didn’t use a pick here because I hadn’t really used a pick yet and I was just covering instead of aiming for closer to the original at this point. Now I’ll use whatever the original bassist used, so I would have used a pick like Jason if I did the cover now

Im a beginner and its easy but I struggle in the mid part of the song where its 5 7 any tips?
You can use the UA-cam controls ⚙️ to slow the song down and then you can practice just that section slowly. Once you nail it a few times, speed it up until you can play it. It also helps to jump to just that section in the song as well instead of the whole song. I hope this helps!

Well, not all bands publish “official” tabs. Even if they do, they are often noticeably wrong. Many people make different tabs because they find something wrong with tabs they find. So, to answer your question, there is no real one

Did awesome playing on a 4-string bass, but Jason Newsted used a 5-string bass guitar, try doing that with a 6-string & 7-string bass guitar buddy, I did, & I mixed it up a little bit different by adding 5 & 6 heavier bass, & now I changed it up to a 7-string bass medium string Slinky's on my new Ibanez BTB7E 7-STRING Bass-guitar! It pushes out a different bass sound than you can think of, I really tried more deeper low-end bass! Jim Greszczuk
