Yeah its a trip, but yeah totally 💯 down there I always see the same conditions when the winds do decide to pick up. And thanks for your comment, and yes me too 👍
Hello there, it's me I'm the Santa Ana winds I cause allergies I also make things weird A little bit about me I'm a hot, hot breeze That originates from high-pressure air masses Technically, I'm known as a katabatic wind That's science for "a pain in your asses" I'm mystical but also carry dangerous spores I bring whimsy and forest fires When I blow, there's magic in the air And a higher risk of suicide I make children wheeze 'Cause I'm the Santa Ana winds To reiterate, I make things weird When I blow, it sounds like "whee!"
I wish the Powerpuff Girls face these type of winds. I really want them to be at a wind testing station. Also, it looks like an invisible hurricane with strong gale winds. What a good relief!
Wow! The Santa Ana winds are very dry, correct? What temperatures do you register during such events? Here in Europe at the foot of the Alps we have Föhn winds, which are practically the same as Chinook winds you have there in North America east of the Rockyes😊
Well actually for the past few years we haven't had events with high temperatures because we usually have 70-80 degree temperatures, but for this one it was rather cooler and in the low 60's with windchill in the 50's. But temps can reach to as high as 100 when in the fall because our fall is certainly warm rather than cold but yes very destructive to farms and plants because of its aridity. Trees are sometimes dried out and are left with demolished foliage but we are actually west of the Rockies in California where we have Santa Ana Winds. But quite interesting to learn of other locations with similar weather. 👍
@@socalsweather6688 Your description is interesting too! Yes, I know just something about California, your area if I am not wrong has practically a mediterranean climate (here in Europe similar climates to the coast of California you can find in south Spain, south Italy and Greece). And your pretty low latitude should give you mild winters. Here around the Alps we are at the latitude of British Columbia\state of Whashington. Milan is at the same latitude as Montreal, and so our winters are cold but generally not as cold as those you find in other continent at the same latitude. When there are Föhn winds temperatures rise fast and in the middle of winter you can reach +10\+15°C sometimes even +20°C!!! (which for us are temperatures typical of April\May).
Love those winds! Nothing better than wearing a nice silk blouse and silk pants to work on a day like that!
I'm reading a book in which the Santa Ana winds are almost a character. I needed to see what the winds are like. Thank you for this awesome video.
Lol is it “The Shards”? I’m reading it too and am here for the same reason
10 minutes of this!! Yes please
Wow I was there for vacation and it was crazy there 50MPH winds when I was there

Hello there, it's me
I'm the Santa Ana winds
I cause allergies
I also make things weird
A little bit about me
I'm a hot, hot breeze
That originates from high-pressure air masses
Technically, I'm known as a katabatic wind
That's science for "a pain in your asses"
I'm mystical but also carry dangerous spores
I bring whimsy and forest fires
When I blow, there's magic in the air
And a higher risk of suicide
I make children wheeze
'Cause I'm the Santa Ana winds
To reiterate, I make things weird
When I blow, it sounds like "whee!"

Oh right on the money! Definitely!
Crazy Windstorm!
This looks and sounds the same as coastal Florida the day before a hurricane makes landfall nearby. Kind of ominous
In Bakersfield it's been a little little windy
( Yes I meant to say little two times)
But I've never seen any wind like this!
