I had MH occur during surgery when I was 16 years old due to my arm having a really bad break it had metal plates in it now, but I was extremely lucky I had a doctor that just attended a seminar recently on it and saved my life. I have nothing wrong with my body far as I know and I'm 27 yrs old now.
My Great Uncle died during surgery because of MH (they didn't know he had it), 8 out of 9 of my aunts/uncles have MH, my big sister has MH, my cousin just got tested and also has it. Now I'm old enough to be tested. I hope there is more MH awareness in the future.
Mylignant Herthermia, reactions also occur with stress, as it occurred in me during labour and delivery, very scary since doctors dont always realize this. 20yrs later i do have side effects, constant shoulder pain and discomfort.
i have had an attack from this Malignant hyperthermia when i was 9 on my birthday it was after the party my brother was getting his voice higher so i wanted to try well i tried it about a half hour later i felt very hot and wanted to go to sleep i layed down and passed out when i woke up i remeber feling very sweaty and my head hurt badly i then a year later learned that this was carrried through my family
I've first heard of it while watching a Chinese medical drama based on the novel of the same name called "The Doctors". According to them, 1:15-1:30 summed it up very well. It is like an extreme allergic reaction. Rare, but it is deadly.
Okay thank you, One more question. I live in Spain and when you're going out clubbing, there's people selling balloons with Laughing gas. I always walk away from the persons inhaling the stuff as well as the sales person, but what exactly would happen, if I accidently breath in some of gas ? Would I get an attack or does it all depends on the quantity of the intake ?
