I'm from Malaysia Durians smells good in the first few days after it fallen from the tree. Fresh durians here are expensive af but after few days, the price can fall significantly. So come here to Malaysia for a taste of fresh Durians.

I had the same reaction when I ate the durian from the states. The best durians are the ones fresh and just fallen from the tree. It only grows in south east Asian countries . The ones they tasted is frozen and been stored for a long time I'm guessing.

Histori Indonesia Wow so many different opinions on the taste! 😂 Personally I love the smell and taste of durian. Probably because I grew up with it being Indonesian. . It's hard to find good durian unless you're in South East Asia. I would say don't knock it until you've tried it.
I love durian including its smell. My favorite variety is 'puyat' here in davao, philippines. It is very sweet and tastes there is a milk inside.

As a guy from tropical region and no access to the sea I've never seen these sea food that he ate in real life. I could only imagine.He is one lucky dude. Best crab.
Grew up eating it, never hated the smell, the taste can varies from very sweet to very bitter. I love those sweet one. My brother hated the smell tho, but he has grow fond of it in his 20s, never know why.
I love Durian now, but before I could not stand its smell from a distance, because I have very sensitive smell...but after eating it a few times, I like it, and now Durian became my #1 fruit by far...I see why they call it 'King of Fruits'.

I love durian. Custardy sweet creamy rich profound and multilayered. Smells like a pile of fruit trying to get back into the food chain though. sHe definitely reacted strongly to the smell..
I have not eaten pure Durian so far, I have only tried Durian pudding in a hotel restaurant in Singapore. It was very good and I really enjoyed it. AT first, it tasted like cheese, but after a few seconds, it tastet like onions. That was my experience
Each durian fruit literally tastes different, that's why they all describe it differently. But generally speaking a good durian should be sweet and creamy with a hint of bitterness, but the flavour profile is really complex so it's really hard to describe
