- Original MEATER, MEATER Plus, and MEATER 2 Plus use Bluetooth, but with an extra phone or tablet, you can go beyond Bluetooth to extend your wireless range.
• Download the MEATER app on all devices you're using.
• Make sure your first device stays Bluetooth connected to the probe if you're using OG MEATER or to the charger if you're using MEATER Plus or MEATER 2 Plus.
• If you're using MEATER Link, make sure all devices are on the same WiFi network. If you'd like to go beyond your WiFi network, make sure your second device can get on the internet.

I was excited about this feature so I venture out to run some errands and as I soon as I stepped out the house the app said I lost connection and could not check the progress of the cook until I got back home.

Ya, the key here is that you have to always have a device theta in Bluetooth range. Not what I expect when I hear wifi capable.... Because it's not, the tablet is. Oh well. Lesson learned. Shoulda figured it out while it was still in the return window.
@@fthecsame here. This MEATER is the biggest POS product I have ever used. It’s junk. Service is junk. MEATER is junk. This vid is laughable. Mine never worked. Crap.
I dont even have the option in my app to use the wifi feature. Very frustrating
So basically you need two devices to have it connected truly to the cloud. Seems silly and not sure why it can’t all go through the cloud with one device. Just have to remember to have the meater running on both my IPad and IPhone device. Oh well
Because the base station (unless you have the block) doesn’t have WiFi. You need some device to receive the Bluetooth and transmit to the cloud.

You'd think by now... if you purchased the plus version you wouldn't have to go out and purchase another device to hook it up to your wifi.
And... I'm not buying the hub which comes with the inferior probes

Says im connected to the cloud, but always fails when sharing. Not happy with my Meater +
Yup did all this and it still fked my cook when I went to pick up my wife from work... just got this metal stick and im going back to my less tech probes, way better

Meater, I need you to implement the ability to set an alarm for the Ambient in your app. I need to know when my smoker gets too hot or too cold so I can adjust the fire. Say when smoking brisket, a low alarm of 200 and a high alarm of 300 would make life soooo much easier. Why is this not a feature????

Great option.. but I have on older iPad with ~IOS 9 and thats NOT compatible to use with my new iPhone as an extender device.... WHY ?Thxs for support

link died in middle of cook. Tried to create a new link and it says unable to connect to internet. Using browser to make this comment so internet does work. Where is there a cloud server status?

I don't have this option at all, and the FAQ is extremely vague
My meter plus lost Bluetooth connectivity with the phone and the four hours of cookout information was lost. I had to set target temperature etc. again. Is there anyway in the app to resume with the same cookout settings/collected data?
Hey there! The data in the app should resume once your MEATER reconnects. If you restart the set-up cook, the MEATER probe will need to calculate the data again.
The MEATER Original/Plus ranges up to 33/165ft in open air however some appliances with thicker walls may decrease the range when you close the lid/door. Please be sure to keep the charging base next to the probe(s) in use. If you use tin foil for your cook, we also recommend that you poke a hole for the probe to peak through!

When will there be an app for the Samsung Galaxy watch series ?
I loved my Meater probe so much, I upgraded to the block. I see it runs with Amazon, would be great to see this work with Google Home as well, any plans?

i would not even buy meater probe customer service is the worst i have opened 2 tickets to address the issue first one over a month ago second was little over a week no reply other than the auto reply my probe will not charge after 4 cooks ( worked great for the 4 cooks) yes i did all the troubleshooting steps
Do both the tablet and phone need to be one operating system, IE: Android or IOS? Added the Meater 2 plus to a IOS tablet and it prompted me to upgrade the probes. I did not get the upgrade notice when adding to an android phone. I do not get a Meater Link option on the android phone in settings.
Since you updated the probes on your iPad, you shouldn't need to on your Android. MEATER Link is native to the Android app and it doesn't need to be enabled.

I have the Meater+ (single probe), so I can't just have one phone connected to wifi and monitor the cook? I have to have another device as well?
Hello Brandon, you can monitor the cook on your phone over Bluetooth up to 165 ft of range with MEATER Plus, but you'll need another phone (or tablet) to get your WiFi network's range. MEATER Block has built-in WiFi so you wouldn't need an additional phone. You can also send your cook as a URL link and monitor on your computer if you'd like! ua-cam.com/video/YsWyLYT83w8/v-deo.html
With 4 probes I’d like to be able to monitor multiple cooks. Can I monitor a steak on the grill on the deck and a pork shoulder on the smoker on the patio and a lamb leg in the oven all at the same time?
Hello WayMor, the MEATER app supports multiple cooks so you'd be able monitor them all in the app. You'll just need to make sure your device(s) are within Bluetooth range to stay connected to the probe(s). Happy cooking!
Will you have app for Samsung/android smart watch...like you have for Apple watch ?

In your system to use the Cloud to monitor a cook. are 2 devices required and mandatory?
If you want to set up MEATER Link for the Original MEATER or MEATER Plus, an extra device is required! If you own the MEATER Block, this won't be necessary.
If you connect it to Alexa does that count as a device for MEATER link or is it pulling the data from the Cloud only?

Apple and Samsung are two premier watches on the market. Why would you make it for apple and not Samsung? You're losing a huge percentage of the market if it's not available for Samsung.

Can you use a laptop as a meater link?
In a way, you can! From your phone/tablet you can send your cook as a URL link to yourself, then monitor the cook on your laptop on a browser. This video will show you how it works: ua-cam.com/video/YsWyLYT83w8/v-deo.html

I got one for Christmas and it stopped working. Reads 32 degrees and will not move. I sent messages 4 times and no reply from Meater. Very disappointed do not recommend
here is my problem. i use my phone as only a phone. i use my computer as a computer. i am not handy with all the stuff on the net. oh, i also have joe Bidens diese can't remember shit!
