NHL Hitz 2002, also known as NHL Hitz 20-02, is an arcade-style ice hockey video game released by Midway Games. It's the first game of the NHL Hitz series. It was released in 2001 for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Nintendo GameCube.

I was always wondering on the new NHL games why I had to bump the speed of the game way up, then I remembered I grew up on this game.

Best ever and I wish it was remade THIS SIMPLE for PS5 with an "M" rating. Make the fights Mortal Kombat bloody with teeth flying, broken limbs and concussions. Like NFL HITZ????? but in this game. Cant wait to play it on my OLED tv. Thank you for the memories. Can you check people through the glass? I so dont remember.

Spent way too much time in freshman year of high school playing this, and I’m kind of annoyed that the Panthers keep losing face offs because they only hit X. CPU would tip their hand before each face off. X beats Circle, Circle beats Square, and Square beats X.
Yeah it's like getting a delay in rock paper scissors. Knowing what they'll throw
You never really need to use ■, I believe. *X* and ○ should be enough. It comes down to timing, though. But the CPU will still find a way to screw you out of at least one face-off a game, in my experience. Never forget the computer assistance that will be found in any Midway-affiliated sports game. >_
why does the arena look so much like the old winnipeg arena??
It's anyone's guess. Granted I almost never went to what had been known as the Office Depot Center until later in life.
how in 4k? i wonder if this was one of the games you could play using the extended cable setup -- but that was only 1080i.... aka 720p
