Lol seeing the NHL 2009 arcade game slipped into the lineup was a blast from the past. My groomsmen and I played that while drinking a 20-year-old bottle of whiskey at my bachelor party.
NHL'94 was my first experience together with my brother - he always played the Peguins and I took the Red Wings - he was always a bit better than me and so this rewind is a true reminder to me 😀

In the 90s and 2000’s it was exciting to get the new NHL cause it was like a brand new game. Now it’s 95% the same with a new feature or two and roster update. It’s pathetic how they take advantage of people. Guarantee if there was some competition like 2K they’d make more than a half ass effort.
Ahh I don't know, I have been playing these games for a while myself, since around NHL11, then I played 12, and 5, but then I received NHL14 and loved it, still one of the best NHL games released. Then I got 16, sold it, then 18, 20, and 22. I love how it feels like a simulator, if I'm playing an NHL game, I want to feel like I'm actually there and playing, like I'm on the ice at least a bit. I like the Simulator, but it needs a few improvements than EA COULD 100% MAKE BTW BUT DON'T... (I'm sighing as I'm typing here), but hopefully if time has proven correctly... with NHL 94 being great for the time, then NHL 04 being another huge step, and again with NHL 14 being considered even today to be one of the best in the entire franchise, hopefully NHL 24 will be the best big improvement.

A lot of these don't look right to me, I played '96 on Super Nintendo religiously for about 7 years, the images of that game are burned into my brain and the gameplay and cutscenes shown on this video are definitely not it.
The part of the video where you showed nhl 95 was just nhl 94. 95 was different than the previous iterations, I believe it was the first one to feature one-timers

Once it hit nhl 11, the improvements greatly decreased. Looks like the same game for over a decade. Same with Madden and fifa, makes me sad.

Whenever me and my brother played 93’ we had a rule… no wrap arounds. Only slapshots and one-timers.
