The category was 0 star before early gray switch and no one cares enough to rename it because you can technically beat the game with 0 stars, its just getting the slide star is significantly faster. It is by no means mandatory to collect the star, but it is what allows you to skip the keys. That being said, there's a reason I called it Any% record instead of 0 star.
