Great review! Can't wait to get a gen 6 Falster to upgrade from my Falster 3. Don't know why these watches don't get more attention. Great looking and they're a great Wear OS experience.
Holy crap. The connectivity schedule is a life saver. No one goes as hard as you do on these wear os watches. I am wearing my Skagen Falster 6 right now and I agree with every point you make.
Well. These watches will no longer be produced agaring Fossil Group. All the smartwatches of Fossil Group will no more be produced, so to speak, agarding news. Why? I dont know. But I think ordinary watches like Quartz watches will be the winner beside Samsung smartwatches; Fitbit and Pixel watches and some others. These smartwatches will need to be charged quite often.. 18-24 hours or maybe one and a half day. Fitbit hold out 4-5 days. And; one thing, updating etc will usually be 2-3 years, then smartwatches often have to be rubbish. Training watches having better battery, but are not ordinary smartwatches due to lack of Wear Os system. Well; This was a litle about smartwatches.. Maybe Casio is among the winner again:)?..
Still waiting eagerly for the Venu 2 Plus full review Mr. Armstrong :). The Falsters' have always been 'lookers' but not 'performers' atleast for what I want out of my wearable.
I love the minimal look of this watch. Here's hoping a later version has the larger screen that the Moto 360 had. The bezel is tolerable, but I love a big screen to body on smartwatches
I don't understand how there is still a black tire around the screen. Grrr. The vessel is so big. Why don't they put sapphire crystal on it and no bezel? My original Huawei Watch has less sensors, but looks so much better. It's also 9 years old now and still looks flawless and it's smooth. Really getting long in the tooth for the WearOS version though (2.0).
does anyone know if i have to worry about buying global version or not to use cellular function? I've been in touch with Skagen support, the attendant asked me for SKU or sk number to check it, but the problem is that this number is labeled in the watch and of course and it would be strange if i ask vendor to open the box to tell me without knowing if i will buy it or not depending of the number. But don't felt to much confidence in Skagen support actually, anyway if it has or has not cellular functions in Brazil would not avoid me to buy, but of of course I'd like to have this function.
Proprietary charger huge red flag for me. Even galaxy watches are doing that too.... Can't just use any wireless charger, only a Galaxy phone reverse wireless charger or the one that comes with the watch, I don't like that.
My gen 6 has trouble connecting to the charger, its quite annoying, i keep on having to move it around until it finally connects, anyone else have this problem?
i'm about to buy that piece of beauty but i'm struggling with the colour choice... you have the silver-tone version? not the charcoal one? in the online store it seems as if the material was shiny like highly polished chrome, in your video it seems as if it was matte. is it now shiny or matte? :)
I owned one of the Falster watched... I wasn't impressed with the huge bezel and poor battery. It also was very slow responding to my using it but that was a couple generations ago.
I've always been a fan of the minimalist look of Skagen. Fact I have one of their watches next to me ATM (need to get new battery). I enjoy a well designed watch that thankfully is not the price of a used car. This fits the bill very much so. From everything you mentioned I might just have to pick this up. The only things holding me back are no WO3 and even though it's better the QC4100. QUALCOMM has dropped the ball soo bad with WearOS that it's a near tragedy for it. Before I jump to buy this though I want to see what the rumored (nee confirmed) Pixel Watch will bring. Yes it will have WO3 out of the box, and also a minimalist design. I'm curious as the the SoC and how it performs. Once that's out in a few months i'll have a better idea as to which one i will purchase.
I like ultra wide bezels on which you can put your coffee mug... no seriously, thats an advantage.. if you have too much screen real estate, you will be constantly tempted to use that thing!

The body is polished but not a mirror finish polish. The lugs look more matte and the bracelet is matte.

The Falster 1 and 2 were unbearbaly slow. Falster 3 and this one got pretty snappy.
