Nice work BU, I always find necks the most nerve racking, I just stuffed one up by faceting it too narrow grrr, ah well live and learn .......hopefully hahaha
One thing you might do is go ahead and make the set neck with the pocket and tenon. and make a wooden plug that look like a pickup even with dark colored wood like the cover of a humbucker and install light color round dowels where the magnetic posts would be and glue it in place to fill the area where the tenon is cover you could even have it raised slightly like a pickup would be. Best of luck with what you decide to do with the neck install.
Zebra wood also smells really bad at least the one time I worked with it. I kept looking at the bottom of my shoe thinking I had stepped in something if you get my drift.
Mighty nice neck brother. That maple looks highly figured!✌️&💙
I love it! Really didn't take much thought to put the rock maple back on the shelf once I saw it.

Bummer dude! I guess, it's just extra practice. But it's always kinda disheartening when that stuff happens.

I ended up going bolt on. But that's an idea for next time!
