Such a great game! Only managed to get it to the table twice but both times were awesome! It’s kind of an odd game to teach since each race plays so differently than the others so I’ll definitely be sending this and the faction video to new players! Keep up the great work Shae (hope I spelled your name right)!
Thanks! And yeah, it's an odd one for sure, but worth it if you get the chance to play. (Also it's Shea, but don't worry about it. Everyone gets it wrong)
Great vid as always! First wanted to point out that you didn't mention that trade is timed, but after checking the rules I see it's an optional rule, not a general rule. We always played it with a 10 minute timer, which never felt like enough time, but was crucial to keep the game going with AP players like me around the table.
Yeah, I might make a note about that but I chose not to include it in the video because I think for your first game it's important to let people discover the intricacies of the mechanics at their leisure. There's just so much to find that if you feel rushed, you might panic and have a bad time.
I am extremely disappointed that I had to stumble across this manually despite being subscribed, the algorithm is really slacking these days. Solid how to, solid game.
This is your funniest video yet! I like your videos in general, and they're often my go-to for learning a new game or teaching others. But normally I find the humor just so-so: Good for keeping the video light-hearted, but not laugh-out-loud funny. But a few of the jokes in this one are really funny, and made the video much more enjoyable! Thanks for your work.
So to confirm, in the confluence phase, you can make deals over bidding, but also promises. Do those have to be upheld in Trade, or are you stuck with non-binding deals?
My group actually didn't have too much trouble with forgetting key rules, though the timing of white vs purple converters took a minute to get comfortable with.
New player mishaps; *Don't forget to run your planets (and free converters) in the economy phase. They can be easy to forget since you aren't marking them with inputs. *Technologies are invented during TRADE; I often have players announce an invention during economy, or try to do it during the confluence. Research Teams are purple converters. These get resolved during trade phase. *often the most forgotten thing I see is players forgetting you can trade cards themselves, not just resources. I will often say "if you're not running that this round, I'll pay you a cube if I can have it" and that usually generates a "I forgot we could do that" from New players. Similarly if I offer to give someone a planet or research team.
You can only run the purple arrow converters during the trade phase. I don't have the game on hand, but if I remember correctly, those conversions aren't the main effect of cards that can be upgraded. Instead they are usually how you upgrade a card. So you could use it to upgrade a card, then in the economy phase you can use the main conversion on that card, but you won't be getting the effect twice.
Lol, if you're asking how I insert myself into the video multiple times, it's all just editing tricks. Anything else you might be asking about I don't think I can help you with.
This video was worth a like for just that intro alone!
The editing for this video is spot-on! About to play this game with my friends who are all experienced players this weekend, so wish me luck!
Hey thanks! Good luck!

I’ve been waiting for this into for so long 🎉
Glad you like it! It took a while to make but so worth it.
Best intro of all. Loved it.
As I said in your factions video. Good job this seems like a fun game.
Great job. The worst part of this game for me is always the teach, so this will save lots of time. The intro was pretty funny too
Thanks! Happy to help!
Awesome teaching video Shea, thank you very much for that!
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Great explanation, Shae! That was so helpful!

Every deal you make in this game is binding, regardless of when it's made.
very good video!!!!
Thanks!

@@RTFM if you ever think "i'm doing this bit for like one person" i want you to know it's worth it
@@chrisseibert7810 Haha, thanks! To be honest, the one person I was doing that particular bit for was me. Anyone else enjoying it is just gravy.
@@RTFM that's always the best, thanks for the laugh

For people who have played a few games, what rule would you say is most often overlooked?

funniest review for this game. More please!
Would the Faction Tie-breaker also be the end of game tie-breaker as well since that is used to break-ties?
You could add that as a house rule, but the manual specifically says there is no tiebreaker.
Can you use a converter on the trade phase, upgrade them, and use them again?
You can only run the purple arrow converters during the trade phase. I don't have the game on hand, but if I remember correctly, those conversions aren't the main effect of cards that can be upgraded. Instead they are usually how you upgrade a card. 🤔 so...how do you multihand this solo? 🧐 (semi joke)
