Probably a stupid question but does it work well on smallmouths? The lake I fish is loaded with them. They do like a weightless senko so Im guessing they'd like a wacky rig.
You don't need it, there's a few other ways to rig it up. The clear plastic heat shrink extends the life of the worm significantly so you don't need to keep buying them, You can also use "O Rings" and silicon tubes as well. If you have none of that... just hook it through the worm and you will be good to go. It just won't last too long unless you continually rehook it as you see it getting loose on the hook.
@@wendellfishing dude appreciate it! i subscribed just now! check out the few shorts i have myself. my videos are simple but they’ll get better with time as i pick up my editing skills!
I somehow figured this technique out all on my own just by watching people do it. If it doesn't get bit, there's simply no fish in that spot lol I consistently catch fish out of my local pond, all sizes. Iv heard different colors work better at different times so I'm using a baby bass color kahlins wacko worm if anybody is curious, their worms seem really durable as well
That's how I feel about it... I'm pretty confident in my ability to find fish with the wacky rig.. if I ain't catching them.. they likely are not there
I have tried everything... Rings, double rings, super glue, silicon rings, shrink wrap. I like the tubes over the rings because of the hook placement not being parallel with the worm
I set up my whacky style a bit different and the color I’m using very successfully is a 5 inch purple worm. I use the o-rings also with a red hook same size and I even had I perch 1 inch larger than my bait and almost tossed that as a lure.

Best technique
Big facts there SBF
Do you need the little plastic thing you have around the middle of the worm?
You don't need it, there's a few other ways to rig it up. The clear plastic heat shrink extends the life of the worm significantly so you don't need to keep buying them, You can also use "O Rings" and silicon tubes as well. If you have none of that... just hook it through the worm and you will be good to go. It just won't last too long unless you continually rehook it as you see it getting loose on the hook.
I slay smallmouth and large mouth in the local creek. Green and white are really good
Right on Brother... GET SOME !
Love the lews rods! They’re my favorite aside from the shimano slx dc.
Right on Brother..Love it
When in doubt dinger out!
Ahhhhh Yeah!
What rod was that green rod? Looks like a Glass cranking medium light?
It was either my Lews Xfinity or Impulse Finesse
Nice catch good type of fish, sa na all😁
Thanks Dice.. appreciate it!
the great rig for when the bass are being bitches and not biting!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🔥🔥
Right on Bass Snatcher.. I love the name BTW
@@wendellfishing dude appreciate it! i subscribed just now! check out the few shorts i have myself. my videos are simple but they’ll get better with time as i pick up my editing skills!
That always works for me
Right on Kelley!
2/0 gamakatsu octopus hook is my choice. It is super consistent in hooking and landing bass while I keep seeing other people lose fish.
Right on Wrink.. I've seen Size 1 - 2/0 recco'd for this. Glad you are picking them up.
Bro: “wacky worm”
Me: the usual suspect
I somehow figured this technique out all on my own just by watching people do it. If it doesn't get bit, there's simply no fish in that spot lol I consistently catch fish out of my local pond, all sizes. Iv heard different colors work better at different times so I'm using a baby bass color kahlins wacko worm if anybody is curious, their worms seem really durable as well
That's how I feel about it... I'm pretty confident in my ability to find fish with the wacky rig.. if I ain't catching them.. they likely are not there
How are those clear tubes compared to wacky rings?
I have tried everything... Rings, double rings, super glue, silicon rings, shrink wrap. I like the tubes over the rings because of the hook placement not being parallel with the worm
Hi Is bass fillets good for smoking?
Not sure.. never have tried it
I love wacky rig
Alll Day!
I set up my whacky style a bit different and the color I’m using very successfully is a 5 inch purple worm. I use the o-rings also with a red hook same size and I even had I perch 1 inch larger than my bait and almost tossed that as a lure.
Right on Dave.. thanks for the add
That speed stick is a game changer tho..
Not a bad setup for the price
