I just happen to wake up to use the bathroom and never clicked on a reaction so fast. I absolutely love these guys and am happy to see they are getting the recognition they deserve!
hahahaha!! I love these guys! I found them while I was deep in my The Hu kick. you would not EXPECT this level of hardcore from a bunch of old guys but they rock it HARD.
you should have an English translation in the closed caption for this one. some, or most, of their songs don't have it in the captions, but this one does. love them.
Oldschool styled Metal at it's finest, Elitists would call it hot garbage, but to most of us, it's solid Metal Music and enjoyable for new and old fans alike.
The scat part you got spot on but the heartless part I think is the fact that he is pleading to every deity he can think of to make his life a little better and he is still waiting.
Ningen Isu has been playing in Japan for years. Shinji Wajima (guitarist) dresses in Meiji period clothing. Ken-ichi Suzuki (Bass) dress as a Buddhist priest. (It should be noted that is is a priest. However Shinjo Wajima does have some formal training as Buddhist monk). Nobu Nakajima dress in a old Yakuza stile. The name of the band translates as human chair.
This is great metal. I’m a metal head from the UK. Reminds me of Black Sabbath. Heaved up jazz in some songs. Dark but fun at the same time.. what a riff.
WELL, if we're going for foreign rock/metal/folk rock... then I have 2 more bands for you: Bloodywood and The Hu. Both these bands are amazing. I love them just as much or more as Ningen Isu. The Hu's Yuve Yuve Yu is SO much better than Wolf Totem. Bloodywood is from India, and they are Folk Metal and full of MEANING. I think you'll enjoy them because they alternate lyrics in Hindi for the sung parts and rap for the parts in English. I HIGHLY recommend their song "Jee Veerey", which is about fighting depression and suicideality. They have a lot of absolute bangers, and they got their start on UA-cam doing Metal parody versions of pop songs. After "Jee Veerey," you should check out "Gaddar", which is about standing up to corruption in democratic governments. The music is clever and HARD, while the cinematography is excellent. There is a very clever closed caption at one point that I won't ruin for you here. Finally, you MUST check out "Danna Dan," which is about Beating up rapists, and is probably their HARDEST song to date. FYI, the blue chick in that music video represents Kali, the goddess of destruction (and in this case, revenge). For their later videos, you will need to turn the captions on, but I think they were still in the video itself when they posted "Jee Veerey". I promise you'll LOVE them.
They have been around for 30 years. They started as a prog-rock group and have progressed into a slightly heavier sound. yes you have nailed what makes this great metal. Catchy riffs and dynamic range taking you though different parts of the song.
BTW. The video has official subtitles in several languages, inc. English I recommend the next track you try by them is "The Colour Out Of Space" because I think you may spot the literary reference (English subtitles are included). ua-cam.com/video/1JY89ZxVqEg/v-deo.html

I beleive they opened for Iron Maiden live back in the day. correct me if im wrong. they do have a theme going on though
and if Ningen Isu doesnt mean "spirit of metal" you wont be able to convince me otherwise
Japanese? There were no hints at all.
