AUS8/10 is amazing for field sharpening. The sharpest knife I have ever held in my hands is an AUS8 Cold Steel Kobun. I didn't know what sharp even meant until I really spent some time on that knife to see what I could get out of it sharpness wise.
The sharpest I've ever had was a spyderco m4 knife. Spyderco's m4 sharpens beautifully and holds it edge a long time.
@@Freakmaster480 I don't think I have ever sharpened M4 (maybe a serrated edge blade once a long time ago) but CMP steels rarely surprise me any more. They always have at least one great characterstic about them.
aus 10 takes a keen edge quickly, but yes its a chippy steel.
Keep it up boys!!!!
I feel like u guys should take a look at tomahawks (trade axes) u can easely take them from their shaft and use them as a knife and u can carry just the head with you while carve a new handle for them.
The newest version of the Cold Steel Recon 1 has the Triad lock, S35VN, 4 inch blade and a 90 degree Spine. And is sub $100
The pellet gun made the knife look like a carpet cutter.😂 Thanks for making me laugh and putting out great videos. 🤜🤛🤙
Loved the jacket that Martin is wearing, what brand is it, if I may ask, good to see you guys still going strong,
AUS 10A is not bottom of the barrel steel. Properly heat treated, it's tough and has decent edge retention.
Sold 😊👍
5:15 "you always need the full length for the crack"🤔
Full length for the crack - wise words my friends.
awesome vid.
For folders, I’d like to see you baton the knife tip down, strait into a log.

Bueno y cuando hacen la comparación con el clon chin
Wild steer wx folder
I'm not sure if anyones ever asked, but I'd love to see y'all test out winkler knife and axe. I'd even honest to god be willing to lend you my set knowing full well due to how y'all test them i may not get them back in their original condition lol. I've trusted my life to mine for years... i just don't personally have the heart to do the job right potentially destroying them myself... on the other hand i firmly believe they can take it.
We'll definitely take a look. We get the request often. Thank you so much
Amazing!!
PLEASE review the Bahco Curved Wrecking Knife 2449! only 20 euros! Might be big contendor in your budget fixed blades...Can it unseat the current champions? SK5 steel and literally designed for batoning!
I like mine
Can’t believe I sold my m390 4 max but my rajah 2 was always was better for outdoors. It was basically sitting around.
"you always need the full length for the crack" 😂 That's what she said.
I have the S35VN version. It's a monster.
Agreed, there's no other knife for me.
