@elenchus there's a great video, actually, in the show "Human Weapon" where one of the Okinawan masters talks about that for a short time, basically, your hand should take the shape of a dragon clutching a ball in its mouth. I believe its so your fingers are all together (not broken!) and possibly ready to grab the person after you block.

can you help me understand what the dragon hand shape is for? in my style we call it kekite, or a technique that looks similar
