- Confused between the Honda Highness CB350 and the Royal Enfield Meteor 350? My friend Srinivas Ganesh, an Interceptor 650 owner who previously used to ride a Classic 350 and then a Harley Davidson Fatboy, tells you what his pick would be among these two very capable retro-styled 350s.
Srinivas has spent time on the Honda Highness CB350 - we both recently visited Kanatal on it and the Interceptor - and he also rode the Meteor 350 some 40 km before we shot this video.
Do you agree with his assessment? What would your pick be?

@@whatever3041 On the contrary, both are Amity NOIDA graduates. 😎
Being a Thunderbird 350 owner, i took a test drive of both Highness and Meteor, i would say Honda has done a great job bringing in such a bike, it will force RE to build better bikes. Till now RE were like why should we put in that extra effort when we have blind following who even think the vibrations as a great thing.
But now that they have, which one would you buy?
@@abhinavbhatt RE, because I guess it seems to be more comfortable to ride. But, I am yet to test ride both.
@abhinav bhatt I would prefer Honda, RE may have an upper hand in number of service centers but their quality of after sales service is poor from my experience in Mumbai
@@abhinavbhatt which one would u buy??
I had Thunderbird 500, and was fed up with it. So although RE has tried to solve many issues, they cannot beat Honda when it comes to quality. After 3-4 years of use you will realize that .
Shree is too much concerned about his hair like me. And atleast one think is common between us, we both are getting bald and sooner or later we will compete with abhinav. 😂

I am planning for cb350 as well. What was the deciding factor that made you select cb350 over meteor? I stay in Kalyan so nearest is thane for me as well
@@isejpal Hey Shashank,I am relatively new to the motorcycle community.I had booked a RE himalayan in the month of August. In the beginning I was focussed on getting a motorcycle that was built for touring. Then as weeks went by I realized that a motorcycle which can be used for both street and light to medium touring wiuld suit me more.At this point, also,I wasnt happy with the RE showroom people response. They were delaying the delivery of my already delayed motorcycle and they were indifferent to my concerns. So I cancelled the booking.By that time CB 350 was announced and i test rode it.I liked it.I also test rode Gixxer 250 naked but the pillion seat was not very comfortable. So i finalized on CB 350.Meteor was never on my list.
Let the man speak to his full Abhinav without interrupting him
Royal Enfield with out vibrations, or with minimum vibrations could be the only reason to buy Meteor, booking it very soon.... Cheers 🍻
Still gonna get cb350
Living in North-East India, its most unlikely that Honda Big-Wing may ever open. So, have to settle with Meteor for now, though I am more inclined towards CB. But given the option I am going to buy both, period.
While selecting a bike for yourself be unbiased and neutral in your mind ( after all it's your money and neither are Honda nor enfield your relatives and instead are masters in the art of manipulating your minds in order to sell their products ). Select a machine which will serve you well, based on the parameters you prioritize. After test riding both the Meteor and the Honda I have come to the conclusion that the CB 350 has more of what I want although the Meteor is a great machine too..Honda somehow feels a more complete and wholesome highway mile muncher to me..
But I bought the Honda CB350 :)
Congratulations.
You will not regret your Honda purchase.
That Honda CB350 Highness seems to be a great motorbike.
I wish it was available in Thailand where I am living now.
Congratulations sir, you have selected very good bike and brand.. Any how pls follow safety rules while riding the bike.

If we go for RE just because it's RE, then there is no point in comparing it with Honda. It's better we compare RE with old RE only.

Abhinav,
Great content again.
Interesting conversation and it would appear:
1) You Indians have brand loyalty to Royal Enfield.
2) Honda is the better and better built motorbike.
3) Honda have to have a bigger dealer network and produce more units to be able to penetrate the Indian market.
I would think, and that was not mentioned really, the positioning of the foot pedals.
I personally prefer the positioning of the Honda pedals than the front pedals on the RE.
I agree with all the points, John.
Please advise me which is better for daily use
60% to 70% city and 30% to 40% highway
Pillion comfort bhi chahiye
I was an RE Bullet 350 owner. (Till 2 days back). I test rode cb 350 and the Meteor back to back. I loved the CB 350 more than the Meteor in terms of refinement and the CB felt much better to handle and when I first pressed the start switch of the CB350, I had butterflies under my stomach. It was so good.
I live in a small town and my big wing is less than 5 Km and my RE showroom is less than 10 Km and so, no big deal for me. I test rode the CB350 inside the city and Meteor in the highway.
If its Meteor or CB350. I'd vote for the CB350 hands down. That doesn't mean the meteor was bad. But, even for the extra 10,000 rupees for the CB350 base variant, I feel it justifies the the extra price tag of 10k.
Now, I'm stumped between a 'used' Interceptor 650 Vs a New CB350. 😂😂
So, Interceptor owners do share the difficulties of its ownership so that I could make a decision by March or April.
I ride motorcycles only for pleasure. Car is my main source of commute. If CB is more comfortable than Interceptor 650 and can do 110 Kmph all day without breaking a sweat, CB should just do justice.
But, my heart races for Interceptor in one small chamber.
Please help...

Hey abhinav one question for you.. do u think the chassis on meteor can accommodate 650cc twin engine on it as it looks the same like interceptor? I knw 650 cruiser is on its way but still just a curiosity
I am not too sure.
Today I done test ride of RE metero and Honda CB350
I never own any RE in the past,
For RE I felt some viberation from handle to front wheel when I raise the speed.
But honda CB350 , I enjoyed ride and no viberation , but doubt on after sales service.
In Hyderabad I found only one dealer had bike to see and have test ride 🧐.
@Abhinav butt
Which one is better in you point of view. As you spend more time than us.
Yes, I like your casual chats always.

Any updates for r15v3 ??
Abhinav what do u think which bike has the best chassis according to you?
Honda.
abhinav bhai back with a bang👍👍👍
Hi Abhinav, for daily city commute of around 30 kms (15 kms from office to home and back), which between MEteor 350 and interceptor 650 is better? I have no intention of going on any road trip. Kindly guide
Meteor
@@abhinavbhatt thank you so much.
Confused which one to buy between interceptor, h' ness and meteor.
I love the look of interceptor ( non ageing retro style), Honda refinement and style but lack of dealers and service outlet is there in my region. I love the comfort of meteor but fails to impress on looks.
I'm 6' 1" tall pls suggest budget not an issue.
Interceptor
Ok..but may i know which bike serves your purpose and what u are really looking for ?
Please also ask him which bike (between intwrceptor and meteor )has more charm factor , irrespective of the numbers and figires on paper . And asking w.r.t. the inyerceptor and meteor ...suppose one is in a mood to ride general medium distance ride with a mix of city n highway ride ) then whih bike he would instinctively go to . I mean not with a mission to touch extreme speeds.
Great video...Thanks
Hey Abhinav,
Super content again! Hope Shree gets well soon!! Cruiser/Commuter type.....it's truly subjective. Question I still have, on a long ride, how does the Honda CB350 fare? Fatigue/suspension/rideability etc. Would love a video on this.
Stay safe, take care!! Cheers!!
The Honda takes it like a champ. I just wish suspension was nicer.
Hello Sir.
First of all thanks for your videos 🙏
I live in Patiala, Punjab.
For daily usage I will be driving maximum 4000 kilometres for the whole year in the City.
For 3 tours to the mountains like Shimla, Mussoorie, Manali & Nainital in a Year it will be maximium 2000 kilometres on highways
Honda CB350 or Royal Enfield Meteor
In your opinion which one will be better ?
Thanks for the time and consideration Sir.
Nice truely practical review
Booked mine yesterday. Brown supernova. Thanks for helping me decide 👍 It is 'the' bike I was waiting for.
The RE is not supplying with navigator and charger now. I bought one a week.or so back.
It ofcourse is a good one. I was driving a thunderbird earlier
I thought you'd be running out of ideas for highness 350 videos as everything is covered but this one is clever. Impressive how many videos you have managed to make with just 3 bikes.
Dear abhi i only meant , what's your pick, meteor or honda for yourself ?
I still am confused. Honestly, they both don't serve my purpose, but I like them both.
Lv u guys❤️❤️ for sharing your wonderful experience. Simply amazing, hats off 🙏🙏.
I m now inclined towards meteor 51% n 49% hiness.
I did short test ride of hiness today n two days back of meteor.
Still couldn't decide which one of above two to buy.
It's a very tough choice to make.
Go for meteor
Right person, right opinion - to the point based on experience, usage. The limitation of Honda in terms of very limited availability highlighted. In fact same applies to Benelli in availability and service aspects. So in real life there is no strong competition to RE.
Got my hness!!!!! Thank you for the good bunch videos on hness✌️✌️✌️
Great comparison 👍
Is touring seat for short people or for more comfort? Stock seats are for long rides?
I have not tried the touring seat, but the stock seat is good enough for long rides.
I don't like meteor much. Which one would you prefer between CB350 and Interceptor 650 considering price to performance ratio?
650
is it possible to get that google gsp gauge on interceptor?
Not as of now.
I'm biased with CB350 and Meteor 350
I need a bike with
1.Good mileage
2. I do long drives often
3. Need Daily basis bike
4. I'm not much interested in cruiser type which is front foot pegs.
5. Also looking for Low maintenance and long term use bike

what did you buy?
Because of you are RE owner n fan boy, you are choosing RE over Hness.. This is not a fair judgement. Pls do apple to apple comparison. Don't confuse people about judgement while purchase. What ever you have told the positive points of RE is just accessories. Reliability and engine quality is most important for any bike. So pls don't confuse the buyers.
Bro since this is an engine from new platform you cannot comment on the reliability of meteor now
Nice video , sri and Abhinav..
A word or two..
Ground clearance is an important parameter, that NEEDS to be covered, in bike reviews of value..
esp on bikes, boasting of touring capabilities...
On that score, neither comes out a champion...
And on that note alone, i continue to wonder, what indeed is the tech challenge of any mobike mfr, to make the damn bike, esp the touring/adv kind of machines, atleast 200mm for the Indian mkt.. truly wonder......So have fun, on either of the two, you two.....while I continue to wait for something with all that and a bit of higher ground clearance...😊👍👍
Hi Vijay. I found ground clearance to be adequate on the both of them. They both cross speed breakers without any problem with full load in second gear. Usually, if I don't talk about something, just assume I have zero problems with that aspect of a motorcycle. Because to me, it is working the way it wad meant to and so I did not notice enough to complain.
Abhinav plz .. do make a comparison vid for Jawa42 with meteor 350.though its bit unfair i guess but still this wud be great. Bcoz u dont compare bikes or review it as a "Pro Reviewer" which to me feels like more of a host or presenter.you are doing superb job testing bike to the best of abilities which hooks me to ur vids.im one of that customer who take every aspect in consideration.
Im searching for a right bike past 2 months with all the best combinations be it ride ,style, mileage, maintenance etc.....i wud definitely like to see how u compare those bike........that will be grateful. Keep it up....

1. Front mudguard is very short and not capable to prevent the mud. Must be Improved urgently
2. Back Mudguard is also insufficient - Bike is becoming very dirty. Must be improved urgently
3. Horn/ Indicator Switches locations are confusing and inconvenient. Better to switch the location upside down
4. Rearview mirrors are short - Not giving a proper rear view
5. Shape of the Meter console is not impressive and the USB port is inconveniently placed. Should be redesigned as good looking
6. Length of the pillion seat has to be extended 2 inches more
7. Gear Ratios need improvement. Poor performance at hilly roads, especially with pillion rider
8. Lack of storage space for documents and essential small things. Should be provided
9. Short of attractive colors… Beautiful color selection should be available..
10. The sale is limited within Big wing showrooms only. It makes very much Inconvenience to the buyers and servicing.
meteor meter console is not well placed
RE should have given thunderbird meter console

RE has come a long way. The meteor is not just a good RE bike, it's a good bike in general. The meteor will have an advantage with respect to availability and service. The Honda could sell a lot more bikes if they make it available across all dealers and not just Big Wing ones.
What I thought could've been better about the Highness was the fact that the 5th gear seems like it lacks any power. Also the suspension is probably not adjusted keeping in mind the Indian roads. You definitely do feel the potholes. The RE on the other hand feels super comfortable.

RE's resale value more than honda ? are you kiddin buddy ?
@@Sanjay-yu4kc why's that????
What about the ride quality...low end torque... and engine performance of both...
Covered in previous videos.
So true Honda is only available at Big Wings..I am thinking of buying a bigger CC bike and i would not go for Honda but opt for Meteor
I guess the general rule is more performance = more maintenance- VW, Skoda for e.g. Controlled performance= less maintenance, long lasting. Honda, Toyota,RE is trying the balance
The last point is very important ... The bigger service network is better
Better is also important
A good one.
Shrinivas and his approach of riding really shows the simple pleasures of riding.. and what a common man expects from his vehicles.
Easy to use.
Reliable.
Pocket friendly maintenance.
