    maybe i missed it in the comments or description here and at thingiverse, but how do you go about timing it correctly? Is this an obvious question? Maybe it is and i'm just missing it...

      gear ratios are proportional to each planets rotational period (aka year)

      @@AzT97dmeTd right but say for instance one wished to use it to get an idea of what the night sky would look like next month, or on a special anniversary in the past? It would need to be setup (timed) with the correct starting conditions to be accurate. Like how a watch can tell you it's been 3 hours but if you never set it you still don't know what time it is.

      They move so slowly around the sun, that will be no fun for this model. Will make it more complex too. Great model, I printed one. Love it !
