Great writing for Bass Trombone! (everything else is great too, lol, but it's nice to see some good low notes for bass trombone that are style-appropriate)
I played bass trombone in the wind ensemble and jazz ensemble in my undergrad -- although I'm a percussionist primarily, low brass is one of my secondary instruments. I love the instrument and it has such great effect when used properly at the right points in the right range. Adds great edge to the low end.
@@AnthonyOTooleMusic Not to say you weren’t big time before this composition, but man, the NTWS performing YOUR PIECE is big time!!! I remember when you composed Flea Cirrus for me. I knew then what I know now, you’re headed for big things!!!!
Got to hear this live with the UNT Wind Symphony. Been subscribed to you for years so it was surreal hearing one of your compositions in person.
Haha yeah I’m an actually composer not just an internet guy. What do you play?

I LOVE IT!!! Did you conduct this yourself?
no it was conducted by Eugene Corporon, the director of wind bands at UNT
The "Prelude" seems heavily inspired by Ennio Morricone's style of orchestration. All in all, the third movement's gotta be the best for me.
Yeah the Bolero is fun, but the Discoteca is my favorite of the 5.
