I've never understood why anyone would camp alone. The bad scenarios are endless. Aside from the chance of injury due to any number of things, these stories are constant reminders that you're never alone out there.
Homelessnness. Alone in the woods was more safe than the city. Had to pull the machete for 1 scare. Something heavy stopped next to my tent. I woke up, livid, so I pulled my machete. Kept silent and waited for it to be open up my tent. After a few minutes it left. Nothing weird happened. Nothing disappeared or got damaged. So I suppose it was just a deer.
It really blows my mind also, imagine sleeping in the middle Of nowhere without a firearm or some type of weapon. Me and my buddies go camping in upnorth Michigan every season and we all have at least two weapons on us at all times.
Getting lost in a forest is terrifying. I remember when I was 16 I went on a walk in this forest during lockdown and wound up taking a wrong turn on the way back. Never have I been more stressed in my life- and this was during the daytime. I couldn’t imagine being in that situation at night.
Where did u do your lock down? My wife was in lock down somewhere out near Connecticut I think and had a similar experience. Maybe you guys were st the same one.
Bro in the first story, if you ever see a random person come up from behind you and sit down next to you and they have no response and then just leave, that’s your cue to call off the camping trip and leave, why would that guy stick around for another 2 hours after that weird encounter which obviously led to horrific events
This channel has the perfect combination of my favourite genres - camping, hiking, in the woods, Craig's List, new house, food delivery and Air BNB stories. Thanks! I've never been camping and after watching all of Mr Nightmare, Chilling Scares, Ripshy and now your channel, I don't think I ever will LOL.
For anyone going out in wierd places, I was able to use my Garmin GPS system in the most insanely isolated places driving around in rural USA, about 10 years ago. My phone would be out of service for hours but the GPS device would still get me through very isolated places!
@@latoyiab79 no there isn't, it does help to register your garmin GPS for updates and what not, I swear by garmin products do to them still supporting GPS' from over 10 years ago with updated maps. I want to buy a new garmin GPS however my one from 2011 still is kicking and keeps my going
It sometimes seems that there is no place on earth, no matter how remote, where there isn't a mentally deranged or homicidal maniac wandering around. I even heard of a case where a woman deep sea diving was attacked by a creep who tried to drown her. Is there literally nowhere people can go alone without being attacked by some loon? 😮
Story 1: if you encounter someone out in the middle of woods that just silently chills at your campsite, don't try to sleep there. Story 2: stay on main roads when you are lost until you can find a gas station or similar, pay attention to another vehicle that follows into a dark parking lot when you're lost in the middle of nowhere. If someone approaches you like they did, it is time to leave. story 3: if you have never been hiking don't try an 8 hour solo hike and also that story was made up
I agree. I try other similar channels and the voice/cadence is wrong, the stories are obviously fake or annoying, too many loud sound effects etc. Whispered Diaries gets it just right. Wish they were longer! Great job!
The first story. Really, you still camp there after some unknown sit with you at your camp? Okay crazy. The second story. "I don't know what their intentions were." At the end. Really, their intentions obviously weren't good.
Story1: If you are camping alone always take a firearm and a knife. If a person approaches you then walks away and not say anything pack up and get out of there. Story 3: If you are an inexperienced hiker do not go on a 8hr trail by yourself, if you do something like this always let someone know where you are going and when you were planning on returning.
It was never safe. People were just more heavily armed back in the day. Modern people are naive and think “it wont happen to me” so they go out into the wilderness, completely defenseless.
No one smart. Of all the things in this video that didn’t happen, that didn’t happen the most. At least, it’s up there with sticking around a campsite where strange people silently keep gathering.
I gotta commend the dedication and diligence of psychos in the forest. I mean, it's cold, dark, and you might not get any customers for weeks. Then you gotta stalk them and attack, risking your own neck in the process, and these folks don't even earn money from it. Amazin. I can barely summon the energy to get out and go for an autumn walk sometimes.
I'm not a fan of hiking alone, but that third person with no "outdoorsy" experience? Try going on a few hikes with a couple of people first. Also, try a well-marked, public trail if you have to go alone. Didn't pack a flashlight. That should be a no-brainer. An 8-hour plus hike is not for beginners, either. I'm glad they got out okay, but jeebus.
I feel like people invite bad things to happen by camping alone and unarmed. I’d be afraid to fall or break my ankle or get lost. Not to mention all the horrible things that could happen by running into the wrong person, people or animal!

Ill never understand campers or hikers deep in a forest, not packing some type of firearm, bear spray, knife, etc.
A lot of these stories would end differently if these guys had a weapon on them.
I don't understand why they wouldn't pack a gun, knife and bear spray. Like halve all of that. You never know.
