it’s not even about accountability, he wasn’t mad he made a bad choice and took his time , he wasn’t trying to get out of that situation. However when in a prison and a inmate is put in your life and is the same person who tried one of the worst things to you in prison ,I think accountability ends there ,the only thing left is a human beings safety , dignity and health, he couldn’t risk loosing a fight , he couldn’t risk loosing anything , and it would also effect all of us as we are the company he keeps . Very sad very real sobering moments . Osssuu

It’s interesting that when sexual abuse happens to women and children we treat the perpetrator with as little respect as possible, but when it happens to men we don’t care quite so much and sometimes even create situations in which it can happen. Let’s be clear: I am not saying, and will not say, that it’s worse when it happens to men; rather, I’m saying that there’s no reason why we should ever prefer it when it happens to men.

@Skaarxiong1 people are exonerated from crimes all the time. You have an incredibly naive and ignorant mindset on the justice system. Do you just think nobody gets falsely accused? Falsely imprisoned? Do you actually believe the justice system is 100% efficient and everyone in jail is guilty? What about people who go to jail for simply being the same race as the actual perpetrator? I guess in your mind they should’ve just chosen to be born a different race and it’s their fault.
Also, what do you mean about "blaming mental health"? Mental health has a lot to do with crime. Brother, you sound stuck in the 1900s, believe it or not it's been over 20 years since then, and the rest of us have advanced. there's a reason why the justice system is implementing more mental health programs and therapy in prison (because it works and reduces repeat offenders). Take this opportunity to use this app you're on to educate yourself and rid yourself of the boomer mindset.

The guards were doing us so dirty at a prison I was in FL that I read the entire Chapter 33 which is what the DOC law is in FL, when I confronted the Sergeant in front of my whole dorm with direct law quotes about how they weren’t legally allowed to limit our commissary purchases or take our radios and tablets n shit they threw me in Solitary confinement until I got released. Thank god I only had a couple months left but they kept saying I was under some bullshhit investigation to keep me there. I filed a shit load of grievances and paperwork and ultimately right before I left, they finally gave in and gave everybody radios and tablets back. Let me speak on this. I did a dime in florida. I see all these videos from inmates, not excons, inmates, talking about booty bandits, and all of that jazz. Here's the deal, raw, unfiltered truth; does SA happen in prison? Yes. Is it as common as people think? No. Who is most likely to commit SA against you? The gang you're in. The easiest way for it to happen? Refuse to put in work, or run up a debt you can't pay. Now, the reality of it all. There are so many punks in prison that are willing to give it up, SA isn't nearly as common as people think. It's usually used as a punishment from your own people. Prison, isn't hard. Going to prison doesn't make you hard. Most of these "gangstas" go to prison and immediately start snitching. They immediately cozy up to the police. They immediately start eyeing punks. Black guys are the worst for it too. After everything I've seen, I agree with what they say in the ATL, all of these dudes are closet cases. Undercover.

Everyday in prison is about survival. Fight, flight, or freeze. It honestly didn't really matter what you were in for, everyone for the most part has to watch their back because you why know who will come at you just out of that own struggles mentally, or because of their coopped up anger for being in prison. I watched mens faces get cut open as if they were a cow being butchered, and guys get jumped by half a housing unit. Even the most minor theft, disrespect, or look can get you stomped on. Developing a hypersensitive response to stimuli is unavoidable. If you can rapidly adjust everyday you end up doing ok. At the end though you end up meeting some really amazing people. Tg6e majority of whom are talented, intelligent teachers and mentors. Its life changing for sure. I did two years in the most violent medium in my state on an unarmed bank robbery, with a total of four years in the system all together. If you can, i would avoid that road at all costs. Two months after i was released i was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

I just read up on that Ricky Martin guy and this is a quick summary.
At the facility Ricky Martin was in, some of the prison staff had been running a cafeteria fight club. Martin told on the staff and was in fear for his life because of it. He filed a grievance to be placed under protective custody in November 2011, due to now being labeled a snitch, BY THE STAFF. In February of the next year, Trayvon Martin gets killed. News didn’t get back to the inmates until weeks later, which apparently kicked shit off in some places. Martin was celled with a black inmate, who after he was charged for the murder of Martin, told the judge, “It’s no military secret that I have been one of the most vicious and violent prisoners in the entire state of Florida”. After he heard of Trayvon Martin’s death, he was just looking for a white man to kill.
That kid had no chance. Life is crazy like that sometimes.

Even though I do not agree with the prison system in America, it is a reality. Hopefully things like this serve as a wake up call to anyone who might idolize gang or criminal culture. Because once you get caught up in the system, even if its a minor offense, you're in for life.

Same thing happened in the manga "Shamo", Ryou Narushima got graped as well. He was traumatized at first but became engulf in anger and hatred. He stumbled upon a self defense book (minor spoiler, didn't help him much in a group fight with them as he got pinned down). As it happened the second time he just snapped and bit off the booty bandit's hotdog and immediately swallowed it. The booty bandit got rushed to the hospital, Ryou was put in solitary confinement and further studied martial arts. When someone messed with him he beat tf out of them. He managed to un alive the booty bandit and make it look like a accident. Throughout the manga he managed to deal with the trauma by getting stronger and stronger, learning new techniques, building up his body etc. I guess you could say he dealt with the trauma effectively on his own although in a negative way. Of course it's a manga so some things are exaggerated but the fact remains, prison is like a preparation for hell.

I saw a “diddler” (what they call child preds in the Massachusetts DOC) who was 75-80 years old, get his entire face caved in. He was in PC (protective custody) and the inmates who delivered meals to the PC cell block saw his cell door was popped (opened) and they rushed in. They were only in the cell for half a minute but by the time the correctional officers came rushing in the damage was already done. I was in the medical unit getting an eye exam. When they brought that old man in, it was devastating. All of his front teeth were cracked or missing and it looked like his cheekbone had been crushed along with his brow and eye socket. He was covered in blood and had pissed his pants. He was crying softly. In that moment all I saw was someone’s grandfather, a broken old man. Seeing that level of violence dished out on an old person is shocking. I saw some wild things inside, but that one stuck with me.

Did you not hear the Ricky Martin story? I bet Ricky wishes he was going home in 27 years. Any sign of weakness will be exploited, unless you have been to prison, you have no idea what its like being locked in with someone who doesn't give a fuck if you live or die because they're never going home. You hide behind a false sense of security on the streets, most people think they are safe because if a criminal hurts them the criminal will go to prison and nobody wants to go to prison so most people don't commit crime, you can talk sideways to someone in Whole Foods and not get stabbed because the average person doesn't think what you said was worth going to prison for. Now imagine getting punished for letting someone TALK about you, better yet imagine being labeled a pedophile in your neighborhood, with a big sign right in your yard, your reputation and relationships would be over, your life would be ruined. That's what it would be like being a punk on decent charges, you might as well be on pedophile status. I wouldn't have tried to kill the dude but I would have made sure I won the fight.

All the prisons are different, and some are way more mellow than others, I guess by design.
If they are under constant supervision, the other inmates can't take advantage for better and for worse.
That being said, rapists do get murdered all the time in prison. Some people in prison are there BECAUSE they murdered rapists.
However the world is large enough that what you say is also true, some abusers get through the system and street justice. My point is most of that is luck, unless you're extremely rich.

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11: 28-30) When tempted to do wrong, turn and run to the Lord. Stay away from evil and its deception. It’s much easier to live according to the Word of God than to live through the Hell described in this video.
