I absolutely enjoy your channel ..you possibly have the most likeable personality on youtube.. you show the real enjoyment one can get from this great hobby.. thumbs up my friend..
Hello there! I'm quite new to metal detecting. I bought an Explorer 2 a few months ago and I really like it a lot. The best thing though is that it brought me to your channel! 🙂 Am I correct in thinking your shaft has been converted in some way? It looks like the white aluminium tube that originally is the upper part is on the bottom on your detector. My limited experience is that all detectors have the lower part of the shaft made from a non metallic material, in order not to interfere with the coils signals. Mine has a carbon fiber lower part which I believe is original. When you say the Explorer 2 is slow, is that regarding a delay in time from the coil passing over the item to the sound being emitted, or a need to sweep slow in order to get separate signals for items near each other (as if the old processor needs more time to get ready again after working on a signal)? Perhaps a video comparing such and other differences between the Explorer 2 and newer machines, please? 🙂 Thank you for your time and for bringing us along!
The lower shaft that's currently on the explorer is a original plastic shaft..The upper shaft and coil is from an etrac...I have several coils and a couple carbon fiber shafts for it also..When i say the explorer is slower i mostly mean because it's heavier to swing...Yes the target seperation is not as fast as new machines but because of it's weight you swing slower anyways..So it's not an issue ..The FBS Multi frequency in this machine is like the etracs and safari and in my opinion it's still more advanced than a lot of newer machines..I will try to do a comparison video with the explorer and a newer machine..
I really enjoy watching someone using slightly older technology when come to metal detecting. You still find silver and relics like the detector of today.... is that wilcox digger a larger version? You are probably the best plug popping dude I've seen on utube.... slow mo instant replay .... gotta love it!
I always wanted an etrac but never wanted to pay $1500...This explorer has the same FBS as the etrac and i got it cheap..Having a lot of fun learning it and as long as i'm finding silver with it i'll be using it exclusively..The Wilcox is a 14 x 3 inch 202 model...Thanks for the kind words Michael...
I’m liking that Explorer! Congrats on the merc and the wheaties. I dug a 925 ring yesterday. I hope to get out for a while this afternoon. Cheers from Bridgeport, Connecticut!
The explorer keeps finding you that deep silver! Awesome! You may have to swing slower but I believe it's worth it. Congrats on your Merc and wheaties. Take care big guy. 💖💯
Ya if i can get one silver per hunt that would be awesome...I'm having a lot of fun learning the explorer..It's different than any other machine iv'e tried..Thanks Julie 💙
Really great to see that machine in action. Also like the lower pitch on the pinpoint. Wonder if that is adjustable? I have the Nox 800 and unless I am missing it, the pinpoint pitch is just high. Anyway, great hunt and I've watched a lot of your other videos, good stuff!
@@WeirdGuyInPark Only way to really know if you are missing the good stuff with the other machines...A good way to Test is get some colored plastic tent pegs and mark out some decent signals and then run over them with your Arsenal of machines.
I think this might go to show that in terms of raw depth in mineralized ground more frequencies may yield deeper silvers that a standard single frequency
That may be correct...I'm not an expert on this machine and have only used it 5 times...But i have pulled 4 silvers with it in the last 3 times out with it in spots i have hunted for several years..The FBS Multi Frequency on this machine shoots 28 different frequencys into the ground according to minelab..It's got a very strange ability to see silver...That's what i'm starting to notice about this machine..
@@WeirdGuyInPark I just don’t find silver with my single frequency machines like i do with the vanquish I got very lucky today and found a 57 rosie and a 42 war nickel with the vanquish I struggle to find a wheat with my single frequency machines much less silver and tbh I’m wantin a machines with all the frequencies
Congrats on the silvers you got today....I got 25 silvers last year in heavily hunted spots...Except for 7 at a permission..All with the simplex and Impact..
Agree loving that machine and learning it. Made A simple cheat sheet to learn numbers.

Beauty dime, nice work.
Ya that dime barely came in ....Thanks Chris..

925 rings are awesome to find...Congrats on that..I probably won't be detecting this weekend got a lot of yard work to do uggggg.
Sweet finds
Thank you Jimmy..
That's a great haul for a spot that you've hit a lot! Nice merc
Ya i was surprised...Thanks Joe..

Nice old coins there
nice metal man

Yes the explorer has a adjustable tone pitch for threshold.I beleive it also raises the pinpoint tone as well...Thanks for watching...
You should bring one of your Nokta machines along and Compare signals with the Explorer and see how they stack up...
Ya that would be interesting..I might try that one of these times..

Got a 1939 wheat the other day with the legend at a park in Texas I don’t really find much in
Where there's wheaties there may be silver...Keep trying...Thanks Shawn..
Hello weird guy
Hello again Greg :)
