Correction : the monster isn't strong than Jogo, the monster could land a blow on Sukuna because Sukuna allows him. But in Jogos case Sukuna made sure he didn't because that would mean he has to work under Jogo which was there deal before the fight . Jogo is strong enough to one shot the monster before it adapts while Sukuna was trying to learn more about the monsters abilities

Sukuna's domain expansion was shown in season 1, though the domain he does here is a bit different as he does it without giving it a barrier. Also sidenote, the translations are all over the place in this episode. Sukuna's domain expansion is actually called Malevolent Shrine in both the manga and season 1 of the anime, his techniques are also actually called "Dismantle" and "Cleave" rather than "Dissect" and "Fillet". Makora is also called "Mahoraga" in the manga. I believe that these translations have been changed/fixed already. The reason the fight becomes kind of hard to understand visually in the 2nd half is because the episode was only about 30% finished before the animators ran out of time, according to some of the animators themselves. Basically Mappa has been overworking their employees like crazy and not giving them at all the time they need and deserve, and the animators have been talking about how bad they feel about the situation. It's actually crazy how good the animation still looks despite the episode being only 30% completed. A bunch of the animators behind the show are also leaving Mappa, and it's a bit unclear right now whether season 2 will be put on hold or not. I personally really, really want the show to go on break, so as to give the animators the time they need and deserve to finish the season.
Couple things. First, the domain was the exact same as he did in season 1. He didn't 'give' his domain expansion a barrier, ever. Second, the crunchyroll subtitles have been fixed as of some time 12 or so hours ago (Which I just realised you said but I am too lazy to delete XD) And third, the animators / MAPPA HAVE To push out the rest of this season. With how horrible the conditions are due to MAPPA, and just their bad CEO, they will not stop production, even though the 100% should. TOHO animation gave them a schedule that they have to fill out for 2023 into 2024 airing

And, yes, MAPPA already has too many projects with limited manpower, maybe their CEO is a follower of Sukuna 😂

Sukuna also has other unknown ability, also even the narrator stated if sukuna used cleave prior Maho would already be dead. The anime made the fight more competitive than it really is, sukuna said ‘you might have been able to defeat me “ but that was at 3 fingers if we follow the manga it makes sense
A really simple breakdown of Mahoraga's ability is adaptation. Once it experiences something either enough or long enough it will no longer be affected by that thing. A good example is the underwater scene, after it had been underwater for a few moments, it developed gills. In the case of Sukuna's technique, Mahoraga was adapting to the concept of slicing in general, so both of Sukuna's types of slicing were getting less and less effective. The only way to 'kill' Mahoraga is to one-shot it before it can adapt, which is why Sukuna had to use Fuga again. Bt that point, Sukuna's domain was doing nearly no damage.

We've seen Mahoraga a couple of times, but each time against different people, so there was no overlap in techniques. But my guess is that it at least resets against very powerful techniques (based on heavy spoilers).
What a visually mesmerizing episode! That Mahoraga was a damn problem. It gave Sukuna more of a hard time than Jogo did, which is crazy. Megumi is a mad lad for goin with such a wild kamikaze attack. I guess Fushiguro had some craziness up his sleeve that we didn’t know about. And according to Gojo his potential is crazy. Seeing the capability of Malevolent Shrine was ridiculous. Those poor civilians never stood a chance, but it was unbelievable to see how much of force of nature Sukuna can be. Calling him a menace is an understatement and he’s such a bastard for telling Yuji to savor the chaos and destruction he wreaked. I can see this madness is taking a toll on Itadori, so I hope he’ll be okay as this wild ride progresses. It was so satisfying to see that piece of shit Shigemo finally die, it was about damn time. And my man Nanami is still alive! He needs to see Shoko IMMEDIATELY! Can’t lose him now after giving me hope.

Makora or Mahoraga is a shikigami that is difficult to tame. In fact, this shikigami does not hesitate to kill people who are included in the ritual or not, even if they are Ten shadow users Mahoraga will still be killed

I'm pretty sure even Gojo wouldn't be able to avoid attacks within Sukuna's domain. The whole point of a domain is that the attack is a 100% sure hit. A domains sure hit would ignore Gojo's infinity. The only way to combat it is to use a simple domain technique which is kinda like a shield or to lay out your own domain and hope you have the more refined one.

Makora=Mahoraga The Eight-Handled Sword Divergent Sila Divine General Malevolent Kitchen=Malevolent Shrine(Sukuna domain we saw in S1) Dissect=Dismantle(Sukuna just regular slicing attack) Fillet=Cleave(which adjust depending on the target toughness & curse energy level to cut them down) Mahoraga abilities is to adapt to any and all phenomena that's why he couldn't die he kept adapting (example are him adapting to sukuna slicing attacks that's why we can see sukuna invisible attacks this ep not before cause mahoraga adapted and can see himself the slices or him getting gills under water meaning he's adapted or him getting bigger and bigger he's adapting to each phenomena over and over it never stops you need to kill it with a new attack which it hasn't adapted to yet(Fire arrow sukuna use to kill it)
At the end of the fight between Yuji and Choso, people were begging for Sakuna to come out. Then you watch the end of this episode and see why that's NEVER a good idea. Lol
The Fact that Gojo being Gojo struggled from killing innocent people and instead tried to save everyone by using his domain expansion and super speed while sukuna obliterated 140 meters of Shibuya just like that using Yuji's body who struggled with the dilemma to even kill anyone let alone thousand of innocent people showcase how yuji is doing mentally right now that vomiting at last and crying doesn't describe half of it

I just wanna thank the animators at Mappa Studio for producing this crème de la crème of an anime called Jujutsu Kaisen, especially for the most recent episodes of the Shibuya Incident Ark, if they can do that under their working conditions and come out with a Masterpiece -well, then, its hats off all round JJK animators well done. They definitely need a well deserve and as much needed rest. Can wait to see what they do next!!!
All of the black marks you see throughout the episode are just to see Sukunas slices. Cleave and Dismantle. One to cut things with cursed energy and one to cut things without. Even Sukunas DE couldn't kill Mahoraga because he had already adapted to his slices. So he had to go full power with his fire arrow "Fuga" and kill it one shot before it could adapt.
That’s wasn’t his full power. It’s only anime only extended cuts which aren’t cannon , sukuna said Maho might have beaten him at 3 fingers, sukuna destroyed Maho in the manga, he has many more abilities other than the fire arrow also Maho was litterally dying just by being in the area of the arrow before even release

The spark notes version of mahoraga is that it gets more resistant to a particular phenomenon the more it gets hit by it, until it eventually becomes completely invulnerable to it. Mahoraga was basically immune to sukuna’s slashing attacks by the time he used his domain, so thats why sukuna also used his Fire ability, as it had not adapted to that.

@@Impulse1912 I seem to remember the manga stating it but a quick Google search had a few sources state that Haruta did run back into sukunas domain including the jjk wiki. His domain wasn't actively ongoing but there was still a bit of it leftover. It only makes sense as sukuna would have killed him on the spot if that's what he wanted to do. However, Haruka got a bit into the crater... which was caused by sukunas domain... before he was sliced

Hey guys. Great reactions as usual. Pudgy over here with the theories are pretty cool directions for the show to go but don't always land with what is happening. We need fan art of THICC Queen Hanami now and it's thanks to Pudgy lol So some clarification on the Shikigami. The 10 shadows technique has a system of potentially stronger Shikigami. Of all the Shikigami, Mahoraga (not Makora) translation is off, has never been tamed. The 10 shadows technique works similar to Pokemon. At the beginning, you start with your beginning Shikigami, the Divine Dogs. They don't require a ritual to "capture." As you level up and learn how to use the Shikigami to their fullest potential you learn how to combine them similar to DBZ Fusion. Now Shikigami can die and when they do their power is passed on to the over Shikigami. Megumi lost one of the Divine Dogs and the Snake which Sukuna killed. We don't know if he can determine which Shikigami inherits the abilities nor if they get replaced by a different one to maintain 10 or not. When a fused shikigami dies, they're merely defused but not killed. So it's beneficial to fuse them but it requires mastering their abilities to do so. Before he can do any of this, he has to first fight them in the binding contract. Now here's where some parts are missing even in the manga. From what it appears, the Ritual prevents death until either everyone in the contract is defeated or the Shikigami is defeated. Instead of dying, the Shikigami is then contracted to obey the 10 Shadows user. Now it's unknow of someone in the contract will still count as a Megumi win since this episodes translation is off with both Sukuna's moves and the name of the Shikigami. We also don't know if the Shikigami beat any users can adopt or subjugate the people in the contract like Yamata Orochi who's ability was adaptation. This is just speculation. What we do know is that Sukuna defeating Mahoraga breaks the Ritual so Megumi doesn't get credit for defeating it and it's not killed off but the Summoning is released. It's suggested that this is how the 10 shadows user beat Infinity and the 6 eyes user. Now that the 10 shadow user was as strong as Gojo's ancestor but that Mahoraga can defeat and kill both. Had it killed ponytailed dude, it would have been unsummoned and the ritual ended. Why not kill the pony tail user and heal Megumi back from brink of death? why nullify the ritual? a bunch of question left to be answered. Next, Sukuna's Domain " malevolent Shrine" is the second time he performed it, using a weaker version on the detention curse womb special grade. Sukuna abilities "Dismantle" and "Cleave" are the basic of his attacks. Dismantle is typical slash used to kill non-curses/noncurse users. Cleave uses curse energy for tougher opponents to prevent Curse Users from becoming curses. Then there's Sukuna's [ ] or black box technique. As Nanami explained to Yuji, explaining the technique makes it stronger Sukuna keeps that techniques name a secret. Fuga (Open) means exactly that, open eloquently. He's releasing that technique by saying Fuga but you only see his mouth moves but never told the techniques name. There's theories that it's because if it got any stronger, Sukuna wouldn't be able to control it since it's not his technique but a stolen technique. Again, just a theory. Fuga (open) is specifically written that way to show he's not saying the technique but to "OPEN" and release that technique. It's possible that Sukuna did kill ponytail as we walked passed him because he saw his technique and saw Sukuna struggle against Mahoraga. Could be that during that domain expansion since it can reach up to 200m but restricted to 140m that it wasn't exact and one or two slices found it way out. I personally believe it's the former, Sukuna realized he can kill him now and did so without moving like he did with the two girls just as he was walking away.
Sukuna mainly has two techniques. Dismantle and cleave one is for slicing attacks and one is essentially just dicing the target into nothing. Normally we dont see these attacks cuz of the speed which happened when he killed the two girls but once we realised mahoraga can see it. Even we coild see it ad the black lines slicing through mahoraga.h is domain expansion essential throws these two attacks endlessly at anything and everything that has cursed energy and doesnt have cursed energy even. Untill sukuna decides to end the domain. Thats why at the end there was a whole circle jjst empty in the middle of the city. The domain and sukunas fire arrow completely destroyed everything in that area. The fire arrow is part of a hidden set of techniques that no one knows that sukuna has. We dont know anythign about it.
No guys, Makora is just one Shikigami (you could call it the final boss Shikigami). It is one of the 10 Shikigami of Megumi's Ten Shadows technique, not a fusion of the 10. Also, Makora is actually a real deity. It is the name of one of the Twelve Divine Generals in East Asian Buddhism, so this Makora is what this Shikigami Megumi summoned is supposed to represent. Also, this thing's ability is absolutely broken. It is pretty much endless adaptation. He was even adapting to Sukuna's permanent slashes WITHIN HIS DOMAIN, which is just ridiculous.
Yamato no Orochi isn't a person actually, it is a vey powerful and evil youkai or demon from japanese mythology. It's a serpent with multiple heads similar to a hydra from greek mythology.
That was the Shikigami Megumi kept almost pulling out every time he got beat up in season 1, hell I think he almost pulled it out against Tojo in a non serious street fight the man just wanted to take someone out with him I guess.
Sukuna does have a thousand years of fighting experience. After which he died (1000 years ago) They never clear on if the thousand years experience includes him being human or 1000 years of him being a curse
@@skychieftain he actually stated to have 1000 years fighting experience. Also it stated he was human, slaughtered countless sorcerers and then died and became a curse. Then Kenjaku taught him to split his soul as a curse.
Makora is not all 10 shikigami at once its the best one Megumi can possibly get, Megumi only starts with his dogs and then has to work his way up the ladder subjugating more shikigami to be able to use them and Makora is at the top.
Btw we have seen sukuna s domain before in season 1 and it’s melevolent shrine not kitchen and mahoraga not makora the captions were way off this episode

@@speedrunner3312 if Mahoraga hasn't adapted to something...it's susceptible to being one shot. Like I said I'm not gonna guarantee a Yuta win but he's the absolute counter to something that adapts because he probably has dozens of different techniques by now.
He was a hitman/assassin. He harbored no grudge or ill will towards Amanai Riko but he did it for the money. It's so messed up but he didn't kill for the heck of it like Mahito and Sukuna. At least the Star Platinum Vessel was reborn again.
Little bit of bad news you guys, this might be the last "good" episode of JJK, what we know for sure is the quality is definitely going down. A lot of Mappa animators just straight up quit because of the studio's horrible treatment. This episode as good as it is, is actually unfinished. It was confirmed by one of the animators. Some people speculate that we might not getting some future episodes at all, so just keep your expectations low and keep in mind what's going on behind the screen.
There's no confirmation on them quitting,but they are surely overworked and complaining about the ridiculously tight schedule to finish their jobs I hope they get a break

A really simple breakdown of Mahoraga's ability is adaptation. Once it experiences something either enough or long enough it will no longer be affected by that thing. A good example is the underwater scene, after it had been underwater for a few moments, it developed gills.
In the case of Sukuna's technique, Mahoraga was adapting to the concept of slicing in general, so both of Sukuna's types of slicing were getting less and less effective. The only way to 'kill' Mahoraga is to one-shot it before it can adapt, which is why Sukuna had to use Fuga again. Bt that point, Sukuna's domain was doing nearly no damage.

We've seen Mahoraga a couple of times, but each time against different people, so there was no overlap in techniques. But my guess is that it at least resets against very powerful techniques (based on heavy spoilers).
Mahoraga or Makora, is a literal deity. He's built so different on another dimension, but so is Sukuna even more so.

What a visually mesmerizing episode! That Mahoraga was a damn problem. It gave Sukuna more of a hard time than Jogo did, which is crazy. Megumi is a mad lad for goin with such a wild kamikaze attack. I guess Fushiguro had some craziness up his sleeve that we didn’t know about. And according to Gojo his potential is crazy. Seeing the capability of Malevolent Shrine was ridiculous. Those poor civilians never stood a chance, but it was unbelievable to see how much of force of nature Sukuna can be. Calling him a menace is an understatement and he’s such a bastard for telling Yuji to savor the chaos and destruction he wreaked. I can see this madness is taking a toll on Itadori, so I hope he’ll be okay as this wild ride progresses. It was so satisfying to see that piece of shit Shigemo finally die, it was about damn time. And my man Nanami is still alive! He needs to see Shoko IMMEDIATELY! Can’t lose him now after giving me hope.

I'm pretty sure even Gojo wouldn't be able to avoid attacks within Sukuna's domain. The whole point of a domain is that the attack is a 100% sure hit. A domains sure hit would ignore Gojo's infinity. The only way to combat it is to use a simple domain technique which is kinda like a shield or to lay out your own domain and hope you have the more refined one.

I just wanna thank the animators at Mappa Studio for producing this crème de la crème of an anime called Jujutsu Kaisen, especially for the most recent episodes of the Shibuya Incident Ark, if they can do that under their working conditions and come out with a Masterpiece -well, then, its hats off all round JJK animators well done. Last time, on the close-up, Nanami reminded me of Main from Cyberpunk and now Itadori made me thinks of David in the last scene.
All of the black marks you see throughout the episode are just to see Sukunas slices. Cleave and Dismantle. One to cut things with cursed energy and one to cut things without. Even Sukunas DE couldn't kill Mahoraga because he had already adapted to his slices. So he had to go full power with his fire arrow "Fuga" and kill it one shot before it could adapt.

It’s only anime only extended cuts which aren’t cannon , sukuna said Maho might have beaten him at 3 fingers, sukuna destroyed Maho in the manga, he has many more abilities other than the fire arrow also Maho was litterally dying just by being in the area of the arrow before even release

The spark notes version of mahoraga is that it gets more resistant to a particular phenomenon the more it gets hit by it, until it eventually becomes completely invulnerable to it. Mahoraga was basically immune to sukuna’s slashing attacks by the time he used his domain, so thats why sukuna also used his Fire ability, as it had not adapted to that.

His domain wasn't actively ongoing but there was still a bit of it leftover. It only makes sense as sukuna would have killed him on the spot if that's what he wanted to do. However, Haruka got a bit into the crater... which was caused by sukunas domain... before he was sliced

Hey guys. Great reactions as usual. Pudgy over here with the theories are pretty cool directions for the show to go but don't always land with what is happening. We need fan art of THICC Queen Hanami now and it's thanks to Pudgy lol So some clarification on the Shikigami.
The 10 shadows technique has a system of potentially stronger Shikigami. Of all the Shikigami, Mahoraga (not Makora) translation is off, has never been tamed. The 10 shadows technique works similar to Pokemon. At the beginning, you start with your beginning Shikigami, the Divine Dogs. They don't require a ritual to "capture." As you level up and learn how to use the Shikigami to their fullest potential you learn how to combine them similar to DBZ Fusion. Now Shikigami can die and when they do their power is passed on to the over Shikigami. Megumi lost one of the Divine Dogs and the Snake which Sukuna killed. We don't know if he can determine which Shikigami inherits the abilities nor if they get replaced by a different one to maintain 10 or not. When a fused shikigami dies, they're merely defused but not killed. So it's beneficial to fuse them but it requires mastering their abilities to do so. Before he can do any of this, he has to first fight them in the binding contract. Now here's where some parts are missing even in the manga. From what it appears, the Ritual prevents death until either everyone in the contract is defeated or the Shikigami is defeated. Instead of dying, the Shikigami is then contracted to obey the 10 Shadows user. Now it's unknow of someone in the contract will still count as a Megumi win since this episodes translation is off with both Sukuna's moves and the name of the Shikigami. We also don't know if the Shikigami beat any users can adopt or subjugate the people in the contract like Yamata Orochi who's ability was adaptation. This is just speculation. What we do know is that Sukuna defeating Mahoraga breaks the Ritual so Megumi doesn't get credit for defeating it and it's not killed off but the Summoning is released. It's suggested that this is how the 10 shadows user beat Infinity and the 6 eyes user. Now that the 10 shadow user was as strong as Gojo's ancestor but that Mahoraga can defeat and kill both. Had it killed ponytailed dude, it would have been unsummoned and the ritual ended. Why not kill the pony tail user and heal Megumi back from brink of death? why nullify the ritual? a bunch of question left to be answered.
Next, Sukuna's Domain " malevolent Shrine" is the second time he performed it, using a weaker version on the detention curse womb special grade. Sukuna abilities "Dismantle" and "Cleave" are the basic of his attacks. Dismantle is typical slash used to kill non-curses/noncurse users. Cleave uses curse energy for tougher opponents to prevent Curse Users from becoming curses.
Then there's Sukuna's [ ] or black box technique. As Nanami explained to Yuji, explaining the technique makes it stronger Sukuna keeps that techniques name a secret. Fuga (Open) means exactly that, open eloquently. He's releasing that technique by saying Fuga but you only see his mouth moves but never told the techniques name. There's theories that it's because if it got any stronger, Sukuna wouldn't be able to control it since it's not his technique but a stolen technique. Again, just a theory. Fuga (open) is specifically written that way to show he's not saying the technique but to "OPEN" and release that technique.
It's possible that Sukuna did kill ponytail as we walked passed him because he saw his technique and saw Sukuna struggle against Mahoraga. Could be that during that domain expansion since it can reach up to 200m but restricted to 140m that it wasn't exact and one or two slices found it way out. I personally believe it's the former, Sukuna realized he can kill him now and did so without moving like he did with the two girls just as he was walking away.
Sukuna mainly has two techniques. Dismantle and cleave one is for slicing attacks and one is essentially just dicing the target into nothing. Normally we dont see these attacks cuz of the speed which happened when he killed the two girls but once we realised mahoraga can see it. Even we coild see it ad the black lines slicing through mahoraga.h is domain expansion essential throws these two attacks endlessly at anything and everything that has cursed energy and doesnt have cursed energy even. Untill sukuna decides to end the domain. Thats why at the end there was a whole circle jjst empty in the middle of the city. The domain and sukunas fire arrow completely destroyed everything in that area. The fire arrow is part of a hidden set of techniques that no one knows that sukuna has. We dont know anythign about it.

No guys, Makora is just one Shikigami (you could call it the final boss Shikigami). It is one of the 10 Shikigami of Megumi's Ten Shadows technique, not a fusion of the 10. Also, Makora is actually a real deity. It is the name of one of the Twelve Divine Generals in East Asian Buddhism, so this Makora is what this Shikigami Megumi summoned is supposed to represent.
Also, this thing's ability is absolutely broken. It is pretty much endless adaptation. He was even adapting to Sukuna's permanent slashes WITHIN HIS DOMAIN, which is just ridiculous.

That was the Shikigami Megumi kept almost pulling out every time he got beat up in season 1, hell I think he almost pulled it out against Tojo in a non serious street fight the man just wanted to take someone out with him I guess.

Little bit of bad news you guys, this might be the last "good" episode of JJK, what we know for sure is the quality is definitely going down. A lot of Mappa animators just straight up quit because of the studio's horrible treatment. This episode as good as it is, is actually unfinished. It was confirmed by one of the animators. Some people speculate that we might not getting some future episodes at all, so just keep your expectations low and keep in mind what's going on behind the screen.
There's no confirmation on them quitting,but they are surely overworked and complaining about the ridiculously tight schedule to finish their jobs
