Every lyric you’ve written on every song delves into my soul. My life story. Started out in life way too young. Grew up too fast. And wasted so many years on the wrong people. I’m working hard (at a snail’s pace) to get to the Shore.
This goes to the heart of depression. The dark despair that fills the soul with profound helplessness. At that point we want out from the pressures that crush us. It becomes very difficult to see the light. I firmly believe your words are meant to encourage, but if the other one is not receptive, then live by example. The effort you made will eventually hit home. The care and earnest compassion is a starting point. You have forced a bit of light to get in. What more can one do?

This song is now my favorite song . I listen to it a number of times everyday. Ive even tried to get my giy to listen to it but he wont. Cuz he knows its abut him and I. Sometimes it can be so hard to save yourself but if you end it because someone else beat you down then everyone who really loves you is left without you while the one that beat you down lives on without a care, be brave save yourself. I sacrificed everything I loved, I had a choice, stay and die or leave and live, after 18 years of marriage and 3 kids I left because I didn't want my kids to grow up without a mother like I did, she drank herself to death when I was only 3 months old. I still deal with the PTSD from the mental and emotional abuse but I'm alive and I'm happy. We've been divorced for 25 years now but we are still a strong family unit and for that I am so grateful. Never give up, be brave, be strong.
I also want to say thank you for, “Lead Me On.” I listen to it again and again…sometimes it’s about me…but, mostly I can only hear the strength I feel having sent both my sons off to college this year…and I am comforted knowing the river will lead them on!! So, thank you!
