I’m a total beginner I usually listen to readings but I just got my first Tarot deck and this was amazing!!! so helpful, just got my Hanson-Roberts tarot. First reading, which was a general financial peep, had the tower, the devil and temperance all right next to each other, yikes. A lot to learn and like the story telling...makes it easily integrated. Thank you.

It suddenly all made sense!!!! The fact that you outline the story the fool goes through, the card have a real meaning in the bigger life context and general individual evolution. I will certainly remember those much more easily. Well...still need some practice though. but getting there!
I agree it is nice to understand the fool is the hero and moves through and interacts with all that part brought me clarity as well. I thought each character I took on and changed or grew into.
The Fool card doesn't show just a clueless person, but someone smart and experienced. They've learned a lot, got skills up their sleeve, and reached a point where they can clearly see the right way to go. By mastering the four elements and waving a wand, they're saying, "I know my stuff." Even though they seem carefree, it's because they're not scared - they've got the knowledge to tackle any challenge. I know this is not the standard interpretation of the card, but he already has a wand, and at the end of it is his hidden knowledge. Also, you agreed he exists outside normal time. This is just another way to view the card and speaks more to what he has become at the end of his journey rather than just beginning it. He is the start and the finish as you implied.

The Hero's Journey is a storytelling device, used broadly. The Fool's Journey follows the Hero's Journey, but really just deals with tarot. Hope that helps!
My least favourite card is Number 16 . The Tower struck by lightning. That's why if I lived in a home with that door number. I'd have to change it. The imagery of that card is very ominous .
