  • I disassembled my Casio AE1200WH watch and applied new polariser film (which I salvaged from an old Nokia phone) to match new Leather strap. It's my first time looking inside AE1200WH, therefore video could feel a little slow, but I had a blast with this project! Enjoy!

    Really late comment here but thank you for this!! I didn’t even think about getting non-adhesive polarizing film to use. This is much better and eliminates chance of having bubbles under the film with the adhesive types of polarizing films. Thank you!

    Hey!
    Wanted to let you know that this watch is still going strong! Bought it for my son and he hasnt taken it off - he absolutely loves it.
    Just popped back on here to find the link for the strap, as it's looking a little tired now, but perfect other than that.

    Nice mods! I love my AE-1200, and it's my favorite modded watch as well. I swapped out the amber LEDs for a blue one and a green one, but since that's all I did it looks stock until you light it up. Kind of a "sleeper" mod. I may get another one to do a screen inversion though, that always looks awesome.

    I prefer the round shaped Casio watches but I learn a lot from these videos. I have some plans with a hand held computer and a Waveceptor which have faded LCD displays. It takes a year to collect tools and materials for a new hobby and meanwhile we can educate ourselves and get to know stuff which we should know before we destroy items and not after.

Especially liked the leather band treatment; that's first on my list! I agree about the NATO bands looking "meh". (Oh, and watch your digits with that "safety" razor blade, haha.) My question is about the strap trimming you did. Was that because you wanted a larger overall strap width? If you had bought the perfect lug width strap (18mm?) would the rest of the strap also be 18mm, and look too flimsy? What was the full size of the actual strap you used because it looks great?

      Hi, I wanted my strap to align with the bezels. In my experience 18mm straps look too skiny on Casio watches especially AE1200. So I used 24mm strap and trimmed it to fit the lug. Hope that answers you question :)

    What size of leather strap are you putting in there? I've been using 18 mm nato on my 1200, but it looks a bit odd since the original band is tapered with 18mm lug. Looking to buy maybe a 22mm silicone or leather strap for it so I can cut it to size.

    Hi, I doubt you'll see this considering it has been a while since you posted thus video but I'll ask anyway. How do you remove the original strap on the watch? And how do you put in the new one than you.

    • @Techsas
      @Techsas  5 років тому +1

      I see everything mate haha... It's very easy. The strap is held by spring bar, you can google how to do it's much easier than explaining. It's best to use the spring bar tool but its possible to do it with a flathead screwdriver.

      Hi, no. AE1200 lug is 18mm. Cutting into nato strap will destroy it.
