Just a reminder, Hank has won as many games this season as PT. I don’t want to hear the senior gives us the best chance to win talk.
I believe he does. You disagree. That's cool
Great video as always! One of the frustrating things about all of this: you have an experienced coach with an experienced QB, in-helmet communication this year, you’re six games into your second season together, and you STILL have to clean up DISCONNECTS? 🤦♂️
It's tough
When CHF said Payton is a thinker, I think he means he’s an overthinker.
🎯
Probably fair
Either way he’s still garbage
It's easy, RPO. If you're confused hand it off and it's on the running back.
Man stop covering for Thorn. Y'all can say every good thing you want about him. Bottom line is we lose more than we win with Thorn.
He needs to be benched
Listen. I KNOW Thorne is a good guy. You can tell he is when he speaks. But I'm SO ready for him to not be the QB for Auburn. We've needed to move on from him since that Maryland game. Should have went to the portal.
I get it
This is an example of too much nil$$ gone wrong… Auburn will amazingly get better once PT is no longer on the field
I want to preface this by saying I’m riding with Freeze for 4 years to get us back respectable. I am committed to the rebuild. I watch all the football content regarding Auburn. There are plenty of things we can talk about that need fixing. Most of them cannot be fixed overnight. For the love of God can we please stop returning kick offs. This is something that can be initiated instantly. Our net starting field position following a kickoff is the 29-yard line. If you look at just SEC games this goes down to the 25.6-yard line.
The drive the failed 4th down conversion occurred on started at the 5-yard line due to a poor decision to constantly return kickoffs when the net gain the entire season has only been 0.6 yards more than if you just fair caught the ball. The turnover on downs happened at our own 40-yard line. If we would have started on our own 25-yard line and the sequence would have been the same then the turnover would have occurred on UGA 40-yard line.
If we want to talk about playing winning football and team football, lets start with the basics. There is not an analytic that is tailored to this specific team that would point to returning a kickoff against SEC competition that could be fair caught or downed in the endzone.
Our average return yards against SEC teams is 22.6 yards. There should be a hard-fast rule for this year’s team that no kickoff fielded inside the 10-yard line should be returned. When you factor in a 20% likelihood of a 10-yard penalty being added to any return and our poor return average it just does not justify the risk. Especially when our offense can move the ball into scoring position. I think Hugh and staff have a lot of more important things to focus on from a program building standpoint; however, this is a simple fix I wish someone would suggest based on data.
I'm with you there
Everyone is on Freeze about throwing PT under the buss but then you have PT saying flat out stupid stuff. Can’t blame Freeze for PT being stubborn as hell.
The rest of the offense said it was a dive left. Apparently no audible available and he changed it without everyone else knowing it.
As did Jarquez
lol a lot of people aka PT fanboys were saying jarquez was at fault aka stereotyping him as d#mb
Great breakdown. Wide open for the dive left...
100%
Instead, why not do an episode on what the new Nike apparel contract with Auburn means for the players and the fans? It starts in June 20 25 right?
The confusion is who the hell is in charge?! Cause if Hugh is in charge then Peyton deliberately ran the wrong play and Hugh needs to get him in line. But Hugh keeps blurring it with the failure to address how much Peyton controls plays in the huddle. Maybe I’m just old school but when a coach calls a play…you run it. Failure to do so means you can’t do what you what you were told to do. I’m going to say I rather have a QB run what I call than a rogue QB out there.
I agree. Gotta connect the disconnect
@@TheBarnAuburn if he doesn’t it just leads to more questions about his competency as a coach. Granted we are in a new era of coach and players relations with NIL but either he’s in charge or he isn’t. It routinely comes across as even he doesn’t know.
Almost backyard football style
You are planning to do 28 episodes until we play the next football game. How many of those are positive?
Good stuff again❗️Thank you❗️
WDE
Great insight as always! Can CHF just prevent Peyton from being interviewed? I mean, he’s two for two in bozo comments. Beginning with his comment after the Oklahoma game.
I hit the like ,
Good analysis of that play , it clears it up
Thank you!
To me it seems like Throne being defensive
War Eagle. Let's not Over analyzing and dissect every word that is said after player interviews. Support the team. Coach Freeze and staff are recruiting and building. I'm sure we can find something positive to report and have a show.
Kyle, your show is definitely Tops!
Thank you!
Apparently Justin Hokinson has in depth answer to the Thorne comments. Says its long explanation. Went over it in their Sunday football show.
Good morning C-5.. Thank you for the video. Let's hit that like button Fam
Yessir!
Sounds like Hugh should just tell him to run a play and take any option out of it. Like Mike G. said maybe this is the reason Phillip Montgomery did not give him the autonomy to change play calls last year. He "over thinks", The 4&1 could have been a big gain the way it was blocked only down 11 in the 4th quarter. Just frustrating we continue to shoot ourselves in the foot with bone headed decisions.
Fair point
If Thorne is making poor decisions, the coaches need to coach him into making the correct decisions or take away his ability to change plays. Sounds like a lack of communication which is not good coaching. Either that or Thorne is panicking and just absolutely blowing it. Geez...I feel like Jarquez is our best offensive player or most productive offensive player, unless the play is doomed and it's obvious, why ever take the ball out of his hands. again...geez...
Agree
The hole is there if Thorne had just run left...
Definitely a hole left
I feel bad for Payton honestly. Can’t be easy.
It's tough
Send another qb out there that will run the play. Dang insanity here.
If Hugh only had a way to communicate to hand the ball off... no rpo option.
Let's go back to Michigan State there's a reason they had an open competition the year he jumped into the portal. The flaws were covered up the first year by a pro caliber team around him. It's been showing up at Auburn all along. In my opinion the scouting team just missed it or thought they could make him a serviceable quarterback. That never worked out and that's where we are now. What more can we say.
Not much else you can say
I think the problem is trust issues. I have been saying it for 3 weeks. It's all over including the coaches. We will be fine if we start moving forward for next year. I think if we don't we will be facing the same problems next year.
Agree
I guess they're not blaming the back for not making the block because they all know the back can't block
There are in-helmet comms. It's as simple as saying "DO NOT CHANGE THE PLAY" in his ear.
Think the in helmet comms is only til 15 seconds then shuts off.
I agree
Great show. You look tired… maybe worn out.
I listened to the taped Auburn Live Modcast yesterday and they (more Justin) were on the Thorne team saying it wasn’t his fault on the 4th and 1 but then unintentionally listed 3 reasons why it was: didn’t run the play that was called in for him, checked into the wrong play and/or didn’t communicate it to the other offensive players… all his fault. Overthinking, not thinking enough, disconnect, trying to be the hero… whatever it is we’re stuck with him until November.
Lol it's not easy when there's not a lot of wins to have fun with!
Well, I can see we’re back on the same old narrative, just trying to get views and clicks and comments. It’s sad that you have to work for the UA-cam algorithms. It’s sad.
Damn good video take here.
Thank you
Payton is suspect. Always making terrible plays at crucial times. Investigate.
One single play didn't lose the game.......so who cares at this point. The play was blown up before it even had a chance anyway. Do people really think Hugh can coach up the younger QB's when he can't even get above avg play from a 5th yr senior(4 year starter). The problem is COACHING........or lack thereof.
Why not tell the AU fans the whole story?
I know hindsight is 20/20 but I just can't help but think "what if we had gotten Cam Ward?"
Why won't you tell us?
